America The Beautiful

Goodness, it's been a while. Hello!

I feel like we've been so busy. Then when I think about it, we really haven't. We have had a birthday party every weekend since the 4th. Two have been at a gymnastic's place, and one was a BBQ at a house.

The boys love this place. Lots of fun things to do, and they can run and go crazy. Plus they sleep good at night!

I started T25 3 weeks ago. This week starts week 4. SO far I have lost 6lbs, 2 inches off my waist and an inch of my legs and arms. Not too bad. I really like it. We've also started the diet that goes with it. I think that has helped tremendously. So I get up first thing and get my quick 25 minute work out in. It's quick, just the right amount of time. Greg's been doing the diet with me, he gets more calories of course, but he's lost some weight as well. I am excited to see the results at the end of the 10 weeks.

During the weeks we try to stay busy. One week it was raining and cold, then last week it was HOT. So we've been going to the different splash pads, having picnics, walking through the mall, going for walks around the neighborhood and school shopping.

One of our favorite places in called America The Beautiful. It's right in downtown next to i25. There is a huge circle thing that water comes down from and you can play in the water. It's a lot of fun.

The water flows around, but isn't too deep. They have lifeguards there as well, which is nice for those unruly kids. There is a huge grass area to hang out, just not much shade.

Today after the Commissary we decided to go. Greg doesn't get to go to all these fun places with us. He really liked it. There was a dog show going on, so it was packed. When we left it was getting cloudy and lightening on the mountains. Before that we had our picnic lunch.

Such a fun place. And all free!

Now we are getting ready for back to school. Some districts start next Friday. Luckily Landon doesn't start til mid August!

4th Of July

Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. Ours was good. Nothing terribly exciting, but we made the best of it.

First off, I think it's kinda weird how everywhere was doing 4th on the 3rd. Several places did their celebration and fireworks the day before. Why can't people just celebrate on the actual day? Just like Black Friday shopping. You now go during Thanksgiving day. Why rush everything? Any way...

On Thursday we went to Fort Carson to their firework show. It was storming and pouring rain before we left. Then was sunny and looked nice. Carson didn't get nearly as much rain as us. We went with Adalyn and Kendra. We got there, found a spot set up and then went exploring. Then came the rain. It sprinkled, which was fine. Then stopped. Then started again, Then stopped. Then started and got windy. Owen started crying, and was saying it hurt. It was about 30 min before the fireworks were supposed to start. It didn't seem like it was going to get any better, so we left. I didn't want to. If Owen wasn't crying we would have just continued to wait it out. I didn't get any pictures with my camera because of the rain, and just a few random with my phone.

On Friday the 4th we went to Monument CO to their big parade. It was a lot of fun. SO MANY PEOPLE. Holy cow. It was hot. We were a tad higher in elevation so that makes it even hotter. But, it was a fun day. Here are some pictures.

First was a kids parade, a bunch of kids on bikes, scooters, skateboards, wagons and walking. TONS of kids. it was cute. The boy scouts were there and some cheerleaders and what not. Then was the real parade...

They had guy reenacting shooing blank guns and cannons. SO freaking cool. I loved it. They had kids pull the triggers. (You can see in the below picture. Wish Landon could have done it.)

There was all kinds of stuff in the parade. One of the coolest thing was the elephants!! I've never seen one just walking like that. There was three actually. SO cool.

We came home and took a nice nap, BBQ some burgers and corn then had a Popsicle.

We went for a walk, popped some poppers.....

We decided to not fight the crowds and traffic to watch the fireworks downtown. We stayed home, watched the gazillion fireworks that were going off in our neighborhood and on our street, put the boys to bed, then Greg and I enjoyed some Hard Apple Cider. It was a nice day. It would have been fun to have a huge BBQ or have done something. But sometimes just having that family time and being home is just as good.

So what did you do for the 4th?
