Garden Of The Gods

It's been a LONG time since we've done any hiking or been anywhere. It was a hot and fiery start to summer, then school started for Greg, then Landon, then it was flooding around Colorado.

Since the weather has been dry, and nice we decided to go to Garden of the Gods. It's a simple place, paved, easy. We weren't looking to 'hike' just to get out. This was also the first time Owen has been since he's running around everywhere!

As always, there was a TON of people out. I love that. It was about 70 out, little breeze, PERFECT! We just walked around. I encouraged Landon to read the signs, we are really working on reading. We stopped so Owen could pet all the dogs, or the dogs that would allow him to, which was most!

The boys were in heaven. Owen was aloud to roam, Landon ran ahead and climbed rocks, went through the trees.....

Landon fell off a rock, he was more embarrassed than anything, and was grouchy for a bit. He did agree to take a picture of us, he did a great job, just a tad blurry.

Owen started sneezing, A LOT, it was lunch time, so we decided to go.

See Pikes Peak in the background? It already has snow on it, last weekend they got a bunch!

After our short walk, we went to Rudy's for some BBQ lunch, it was so yummy and hit the spot.

Owen fell asleep right before we got home, which meant NO nap. Tonight at 530 right when I was getting his dinner ready, he fell asleep with Daddy on the couch watching football.

We had a great weekend. It was nice to be outside a lot, I've missed it. It was nice to be busy again. It was nice to see my boys happy.

Happy Apple Farm

It's been cooling down here in Colorado, this morning was in the 30's, it was so super nice out. We planned with our friends down the street to hit a pumpkin patch. There was one close to base, we'd never been so headed out that way. We got there, it was kinda small, you had to pay $8 to get in, not including your pumpkin. The website made it sound like there was a ton of activities to do, so we decided to try go. Like I said, it was small, and it seemed pricey to get in to such a tiny little thing, plus our friends have 4 kids!

We turned around and headed towards the mountains and went to Happy Apple Farm. We went last year, and had a great time. It's a little further, but it was such a pretty drive. Because of our late frost and snow this year, the apple trees were bare. Plus the huge drought at the beginning of summer. There was still some raspberries and blackberries to pick, the pumpkins and the store with goodies to buy, hot apple cider to drink.

As you can tell, the boys were so happy to be out of the car. I was too to tell you the truth. It was so pretty out, a tad cool, but once we were done it was perfect out.

Remember this sign from last year? It was fun to take another picture with the boys in front of it.

Owen was so happy to see all the pumpkins. It was rough terrain for him, lots of pokey things and bugs, but he had a good time.

We ended up with some little ones. The big ones were nice, but we just couldn't find one to get. It was fun though.

Landon loved running with his friends, and Owen loved to just wander around and check it all out.

We finally got a family picture, yay!

We took the hay ride back to the store where Landon got a treat, and we got some hot apple cider, it was SO SO good, oh my goodness.

Once we were done we headed home. It was a fun morning out with our friends, I love doing things like this. I love that there are things to do like this around here. I love making memories with my boys!

These pictures are CRAZY too me. Look at the difference in BOTH boys! Wow!!!

15 Months

Owen Gregor, today you are 15 months old! I feel like this past month has drug by. It's seemed to me that I've been saying "Almost 15 months" to everyone who asks how old you are forever.

So what are you up to these days?

~ You weigh about 20-21 lbs still. Are in a size 4 diaper, 12 month clothes, or 12-18 months depending on what it is. You wear a size three shoe.

~ You have about 12 teeth now.

~ You are a walking, talking machine now. You are trying to run, which is really funny.

~ You are very careful going off steps, or down something. You are a very cautious little boy. You now love to carry things around when you walk. It's cute. You also like to put your hands on your belly as you walk.

~ Sleep: What's that? You usually go to bed about 745. You wake up all hours of the night. You are usually up for the day no later than 630am. Some nights you sleep through the night. Sometimes you will do that several days in a row. Your sleep is so off, and so random. I just don't know what's up.

~ You take one nap a day, it's from 12-2. Sometimes a tad earlier, during the week I have to wake you at 2 to go get Landon. On the weekends sometimes you take some nice long naps.

~ You love your daddy. You love to meet him the garage when he comes home. You love to snuggle with him too.

~ You love books, and are obsessed with this color one you have. It's big, and you walk around with it screaming "Mom, Momma" pushing the book at us to read.

~ You are repeating everything we say. Some new things are, School, truck, car, ball, pumpkin (not very clear though) purple, green, blue, yellow, juice (That may not be new), eat, bye bye, outside.

~ You are in to everything. You love to go through the cabinets and pull EVERYTHING out. Today you dumped your puffs out. You had fun putting them back in the container though, so I let you do it. When we went to get Landon from school today you discovered you had some puffs in your pocket on your shirt.

~ Eating: Still a touchy subject. Some days you eat great! Others not so much. You still love your oatmeal for breakfast. You like graham crackers, waffles, mandarin oranges, blueberries, grapes, fresh pears, banana's, rice, chicken nuggets, chicken, steak *yes you loved steak the other night*, fries, Belvita Breakfast crackers, animal crackers, your milk and juice, cereal of any kind that you can have, applesauce, peas, yogurt (Soy Yogurt), fruit twists (Kinda like a fruit snack but healthy) any of the pouch of foods I get you. Some of those are Pumpkin & Banana, Banana Acai Berry oatmeal, Kale Mango and Apple, Sweet Potato Cinnamon and Carrot. I try to get the ones with 90-100 calories so that you are getting something in your belly.

~ You love being outside. You get in to all the mulch and rocks. You love to explore it all.

~ Your new obsession is airplanes. When we take or get Landon from school we see them all the time, you point in the air and yell "AIRPLANE." You will STOP whatever you are doing if you hear one.

~ You love climbing, going for walks and swinging.

~ You are really starting to like me singing to you and doing hand gestures.

Right now Owen isn't feeling so hot. He's had diarrhea since Tuesday. That caused him to have a bad rash, and so it's been tough. I know it hurts because he screams when I change him and for about 10 minutes after. On top of that he is cutting 3 teeth! Two canines and a molar. AND on top of all that he is now congested, has a little cough and poor nose is draining like crazy. I think I am going to make an appointment tomorrow to have him checked.

Owen, you are such a spunky fellow. You are smart smart smart and so funny. We love to watch you take things in, we love to watch you with your brother and see how much you adore him. You're such a special little guy, you had such a rough start, we weren't sure what was going to happen to you, but you are such a strong little guy. We love you to pieces sweet boy, hope you get to feeling better soon!

Just Enjoying Some Fresh Air

The heat seems to be gone, fall is just around the corner. The rain has stopped finally, and it's been so pretty outside. There is snow at the top of Pikes Peak, just a light dusting. It's been breezy and cool. Today was in the 60's, ahhhh, we had to put hoodies on when taking Landon to school.

Since we are finally able to get out of the house without burning up or getting drenched, we've been going to the parks again, I have been able to run outside, and the fresh air is just SO nice.

It's been nice to sit outside and let Owen run around the back yard. It's so nice to have him walking finally. He is so much happier.

Yes, our grass desperately needs to be cut. All that rain made it grow super fast.

Landon has a meeting spot. He gets on his trampoline and looks down the alley way to the right to his friends house. If they want to play or can play, they are usually on their trampoline, they holler back and forth until they can figure out who can go where.

Unfortunately his buddies had flag football practice so they couldn't play.

Owen, doesn't that hurt your feet? My goodness, we can barely walk on those rocks. Silly boy.

What a face. Owen is such a stinker, he is our rough one. He likes to be rough, pull hair, bite, and give us a run for our money!

Landon is out of school tomorrow, it's supposed to be nice again, wonder what we can get in to?
