Baseball and Playgrounds

Our weekend is quickly coming to and end, and we are going to be driving home shortly. It's been a nice and quiet weekend. The weather has been NICE, it is almost 80 degrees out today! We packed long sleeved shirts and jeans, and are hot!

These are the pictures from hot tubin' last night, and girl talk in underwear, over strawberry milk.

This morning the boys played t-ball in the back yard. Greg taught them how to swing the bat.

Then we went shopping for a little bit. We went to Marshall's and Best Buy, then had lunch at Waterloo Ice House in Bee Cave. They had a playground in the back, and it was great for the boys, especially since the weather is so nice!!

We enjoyed a nice lunch then headed home. We've been relaxing, taking some naps and playing since. The car is packed and ready to go. I really don't feel like heading home yet, heading home also means work tomorrow, ick! Hope you guys had a good weekend!!!

Boys Will Be Boys

Landon is finally getting to spend some time with his cousin Martin. They've recently PCS'd here to Texas (and we are SO happy).

Of course when we get here Landon is acting SUPER shy, and weird. I think he is so used to playing with girls and getting bossed around, he didn't know what to do! The entire drive he asked how much longer till we got there, and he asked me if his cousin was still going to be there.

They kinda ran around last night playing, chasing Opa and attacking him with their swords, and getting to 'know' each other.

Landon was pretty moody and tired last night, so we had to get to bed. Landon of course didn't sleep well at all, and I am not sure why, but it made for one tired mom and dad this morning!!

They boys ran and played today, went for a walk with Oma outside, dug some holes and played in the dirt, collected acorns and sticks then came inside. We went shopping, and Landon was SO happy Martin got to ride in our car and watch a movie.

Katie and Sam were looking for stuff for their new house and they boys chilled on the recliners, Martin LOVED them!

After shopping we came home and the boys played out back for a little while.

They've been having lots of fun together. They just got done in the hot tub, had a quick sword fight and now they are watching a cartoon while enjoying some strawberry milk. While they were sitting there Landon said to Martin, "Do you like girls?" And Martin responded with, "No, I don't really like them." Hilarious!

Another peek

Here is another peek at the baby shower, and a peek at my little man peeking!

Yes, he was playing his game, and I called his name and this is what he did. He barely peeked up at me, like I was bugging the tar out of him or something.

We went and walked around Target tonight after dinner. I am in search of candy for my jars. And I found some for one of the jars.

They are cinnamon hearts, and they are YUM-O!

I went by a local cake shop today to get prices for a cake, and to possibly order one. When we walked in it smelled like heaven, my mouth started watering. Landon noticed the angels behind the counter right away. We looked at some books, and got some ideas, I am going to go back tomorrow to order, I wanted to get an OK from the other ladies before ordering it. Plus, if you know me, or from my blog last night, I have a hard time committing to something right away, Ha! If it turns out like I have it in my head it should be super cute!!!!

Mattress's and Baby Showers

Greg has been insisting that we need a new mattress and that his back has been hurting when he wakes up. We bought ours 10 years ago, and I hadn't had any problems! I told Greg he was crazy, I was sleeping great. Well, I need to put my foot in my mouth because the past few morning's I have woke up with a sore lower back. It may just be coincidental, I don't know, but I promised Greg we would go look at mattress's tonight.

We go to the mattress shop 15 min before they closed. Ugh! I already felt rushed. We looked around, and Greg found the one he wanted. The guy said he could take $200 off the $1,500 or was it $1600 price? Greg wanted one right then and there and wanted to sleep on it tonight. For me that was a lot of money to spend right then and there. We decided to 'sleep' on it, haha! It's a Simmons World Class mattress, and I do have to admit, they were pretty darn comfy, I don't think I would be able to get out of bed in the morning. So most likely within the next few days we will go and get a new one....eek!

Since Greg has been on his new work schedule it seems like there isn't enough time in the day. When I get off I usually go to the gym, then get Landon and we head home. Sometimes we run some errands before we get home. When we get home Landon will play for a little bit, I catch up on blogs and cleaning house, then it seems time to start dinner and then Greg is home. We eat, relax, play, then bathe  Landon and it seems like it's time for bed. I don't know, it just seems like the evenings go by SO fast and there isn't really time to do anything. Do you ever feel that way?

I've been planning a baby shower for my friend Aften. I want to blog about it, but I know she reads this, and I don't want to spoil all the fun on here. The shower is only a few weeks away, and I am getting excited. I've also been having nightmares, like I go to get the food out of the fridge because it's time for the guests to arrive, to find out I don't have any food, I never went to the store! ha! It's been fun planning and getting things ready, I love it even more since she is having a girl and I get to buy pink and girl things! Here are a few sneak peeks...

I got the little tin holders to put the silverware in, and I need to hot glue the ribbons on still.

Cut little vases from Hobby Lobby!

Lots of ribbons....

I'm excited to get started on a diaper cake and the other things. I am excited to make a sweet/candy table with all my jars and stuff. I am still trying to figure out what candy's to put inside....I LOVE all the candy out for Valentine's day, and some places have out some Easter stuff! Perfect!!!

Paint & Bikes

Our Saturday consisted of a wide variety of activities. Greg made us breakfast, whole wheat waffles and bacon. Yum! Then we just enjoyed our Saturday morning at home. We eventually made it out, and got some paint samples from Lowe's.

Now, we found a color we liked, got it home (a sample) and realized it was way too close to our trim color. So darn. We ate lunch, then Landon went out and rode his bike, I went through some totes in the garage and got a pile of stuff together to take to the Salvation Army.

Here is what we've been up to in pictures the past few days.
It was pretty cold all week, and today was really nice out.

After riding his bike we went and dropped the stuff off and then stopped at Sonic for happy hour. Landon and Greg got slushes, and I got a diet coke.

We then went to Home Depot and got air filters for our house and got another paint sample. This time with green hue, and tried it out.

Now that I am looking at it, I like the dark brown. We liked both at the time, but thought we would do something different and go with the green one.

In other news, we got rid of our TV stand for our bedroom, remember our big moving box from Germany we had our TV sitting on? Well, we got rid of it.

I know, the TV looks TINY, and the cords look awful, I just wanted to show you, we feel kinda like grown up now, no more ghetto box furniture. By the way, we have a wonderful box if you need it, it's free to a good home that is going to take good care of it! haha

I updated some frames around the house.

And Greg replaced the door knobs in the kitchen area! He did our back door, the garage door, the door leading to the laundry room, the pantry door and closet door! Now all that is left is our room! It's slowly coming together!

Back to the painting, we taped the bathroom up...

Went and ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse, and then went to Home Depot and got a gallon of paint and some supplies and went to work.

Landon enjoyed helping....but had a hard time keeping his hands out of the paint...

We painted the front half of the bathroom, and we are still ify about it. We don't know if we like it or not. Why is it so hard to pick a paint color? It is SO hard! I like neutral colors, Greg likes bold colors, I guess I am just more blah!

We will wait till morning to see if we like the paint or not before we paint the other half. How do you decide on paint? I didn't realize it was going to be so hard. I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much, with the Military who knows how long we are going to be here!

Happy Friday

I've been in a blogging funk! I want to blog, I've had every intention of blogging. I get on here, start typing, then I find myself at a loss for words, and I end up deleting everything I write. I haven't been taking many pictures, maybe that is why? Maybe it's because I've been so tired this week and as soon as I sit on the couch I have to pry my eyes open with toothpicks so I don't fall asleep?

Who knows? I do know things have been great! I have been feeling good, going to the gym after work, running errands, spending time with my boys, cooking dinner, cleaning house, enjoying life!!

We are getting excited about Valentine's Day around here. Landon asks me constantly if tomorrow is Valentine's day, and can we get a bouncy castle for our Valentine's party? Uhhh, I didn't know we were having Valentine's Day party Landon! We go down all the aisles at the stores with Valentine's day stuff, and he checks out all the different Valentine's that are out there. He will point to each box, and name them. Tonight at WalMart we found a Scooby Doo Mail box with Valentine's in it. We had to get it.

Landon insisted on coloring the hearts where you write the To and From. Oh well, looks like we will be writing in black ink when it's time to give them out! He's been talking about who he is giving Valentine's to. He had to take his mailbox to the bathroom during bath time, and he brought the mailbox to be tonight as well. I think we will carrying this mailbox around with us all weekend!!

Tomorrow we are going to go to Home Depot and Lowe's and look at paint. We are going to paint our spare bathroom finally. We also finally realized that we don't have to match the paint, we can just paint it a different color. Why didn't we think of that before? ha! Happy Friday and I hope you have a great weekend.

My little Artist

Landon is becoming quite the artist! He used to be one that would never come to the table to do art projects at school. When all the other children were bringing home cute art projects, with their pictures attached, and names written to the best of their abilities, Landon would have a scribble on a paper, if anything. I was always happy with what I got and what he did, and I have it all saved in his closet, but I couldn't wait for the day for Landon to start getting in to art and art projects. Today I had a little surprise in his cubby. I called it a pig, but it is NOT a pig. Don't let the color fool you.

Isn't that the cutest bear you've ever seen? He cut it all out by himself, and colored it and glued it. I love getting little artwork surprises in his cubby when I pick him up. It makes my day! The best part is seeing Landon's little face light up when he shows me and tells me all about it.

Boys will be boys

Boy's will be boys, and do boy things, like wrestle, make noises with their mouths, be messy, and play with super hero's.

You know, they had to set them up, bad on one side, good on the other. (I actually laughed when I saw them all standing up)

Boys will be boys, and I sure do love my boys!

Our week

This past week was a whirlwind! The beginning of the week was rough, the middle to the week things were looking up,  and by the end things were great!

Greg finished his first week in Fire Prevention and working 8 hours. I thought it was going to be hard getting used to having Greg home every night. I was wrong, I LOVE it! I also thought it was going to be hard to share the bed every night, but it's very nice to have Greg next to me. One night I guess Greg came to bed and I was sleeping diagonally. He tapped my legs so I would move them and said,

Greg: "Hey, there's no sleeping diagonally in this bed!"

Me: "Oh, I didn't realize I was sleeping like that. Hey, it's your night you should be at the Fire Station, I can sleep diagonal in the bed if I want to!"

Greg laughing: "Oh so is the way it's going to be now?"

Me laughing: "Yeah, till I can get used to this!"

That was the first night, and I don't think I've slept diagonally since. It's been nice to have him home all weekend. Since we've been married, almost 8 years, we've never had the 'normal' lifestyle, and having the same days and holiday's off. It's great!!

Landon is feeling much better now, it was hard to see him not feeling well, and his poor rosy red cheeks, broke my heart.

My man in uniform came home for lunch one day, brought us McDonald's.

Gotta love having a 'normal' job!

Yesterday was a fun day! Aften and I went and got pedicure's then had lunch at Olive Garden and after that we went to Target so Aften could register for her baby shower! It was so much fun. Aften's never registered before, or done anything like this so it was fun! I love baby stuff, and it was even better since she is having a girl and I got to look at focus on girl things!

While I was out with Aften Greg and Landon went to a movie and had a boy day. Last night Greg had some buddies over to watch the football games and Landon and I headed over to Donae and Aubree's house to make pizza and play! Aften and Zoey were there too, and it was lots of fun. The kids had fun making pizza's and running around....

We had cupcakes for dessert! Mmmmmm........

I didn't get a picture of Jaxson, he is such a doll, so cute, you just want to cuddle, snuggle and squeeze on him.  He was so cute 'yelling' at the big kids in the room. I had lots of fun talking with Donae and Aften, laughing and enjoying adult time. We need to do it again, and soon!
