Catching Up

I feel a tad odd this afternoon. I am not extremely exhausted today! Wooohoo!!!

Around Landon's birthday we had all kinds of things going on. I planned on posting about it all, but you know, my energy was zapped, and I had a million things going on. The night before Landon's birthday party Landon and I went on a date to a co-worker's daughter's Quinceanera. I've never been to one before and didn't know what to expect. I of course have watched My Sweet 16 on MTV so kinda had an idea. Anywho, Landon was excited to go with me, especially as Mommy's date!

One of the girls from work whom makes amazing cakes made the cake for the party. It turned out SO cute!

This whole thing reminded me of a prom/wedding. It was fun to go to and watch everyone and be out. Some of the girls from work were there so it was nice to hang out.

It was long at times. We waited for a while, then they did a speech and a blessing of the food, then we ate...

Then we waited some more then some cute dancers came in and danced. Landon really liked this part!

Then we waited some more. FINALLY, the grand entrance. She came in on the back of her dads motorcycle, it was pretty dang cool, minus all the fumes.

(Her dress was SO pretty!)

Once the court performed their dance, then the dance floor opened and the fun began. Landon loves to dance, I do not. SO he went out with Jackson and Nicole and danced.

He danced and danced and danced! He loved it!

Finally after a while he came to me and looked kinda weird and worried. He had his hand on his chest/stomach, and was coughing. I asked if he was ok, he shook his head no. It was loud so I took him outside. When we got out there he couldn't catch his breath. He was coughing, couldn't barely talk and scared the crap out of me. So we went in, I grabbed my purse and we left. When we got to the car he was struggling to catch his breath. I gave him a drink, turned the AC on and his movie and we left. We headed over to where Greg was at. Landon was still coughing and wheezing. I was SO scared. A few minutes later we got to where Greg was. Landon finally caught his breath but was still wheezing and coughing. He had some more water and we talked to him to take his mind off of it. He seemed better.

When we got home we gave him his allergy medicine and laid him on the couch. He seemed better but was still a tad wheezy. We were getting ready to take him to the ER, but I went and steamed the shower up and took him in there to breathe. It sounded like he was croupy or something. He didn't like it in there and kept telling me, "Why are you making me smell this smoke mommy?" Poor thing.

His wheezing went away, we gave him some Tylenol and he fell fast asleep. I am not sure what happened. We were thinking the fumes and dancing around just made it hard for him to breathe? It almost seemed like he had an asthma attack. It freaked me out.

So needless to say, we missed most of the party, mainly the cake and presents and all that. We had fun the few hours we were there, just wish we didn't have to run out the door!

O' Christmas Tree

Got your tree up yet? Our tradition is to put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. Sometimes we would even get it out Thanksgiving night (If we were home) and start decorating.

I was excited this year because we got our new tree. When we got home Saturday night we put the tree up right away to see how it looked. Like I said, I was pleasantly surprised for a $49 tree. Sunday Greg took the Christmas totes out of the attic. I felt pretty nasty yesterday and didn't feel like decorating. I finally mustered up some energy and got started. Landon was excited to see all the ornaments and it was fun to see how many angels we collected last Christmas. Remember Landon's angel infatuation last year? That's about as far as I've gotten. I felt great last week, lots of energy and stuff. This week I have zero energy, and the thought of doing anything zaps everything out of me!

We've accumulated SO much Christmas stuff. I don't need to buy any more. We have so many different types of ornaments now.

Landon and Greg put the tree topper on. This tree is much taller than our previous one, so they had to get on a chair, very dangerous, yes I know.

While we were finishing the tree we of course started a fire. It was pretty cold last night. When I left for work it was 29 but felt like 21. Burr!

This little boy is pretty excited about Christmas. He is ready to start his Advent calendar.

I guess I need to get busy on our 4 other totes of Christmas stuff. Like I said, we have a TON of stuff. The thought of moving with all this stuff next summer kinds worries me.

Thanksgiving Weekend 2011

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend! I know mine was great and just flew by.

Wednesday I got off work early and we headed to Oma and Opa's house in Dripping Springs. We got there around 3ish. We hung out and caught up for a little while then Greg and I went on a dinner date to Chuy's. I have been craving their salsa. It was amazing and did not disappoint. I got some to go so I was able to enjoy some more later that night. Alex, Jennifer, Ava and Andreas got in late that night while we were all sleeping. When we woke up Thanksgiving morning Landon was anxious to see Ava. Oma was busy in the kitchen getting everything ready. Sam, Katie and Martin showed up shortly after.

It was nice to have all the family together for the holiday. We mainly just hung out and chit chatted, snuggled with Andreas, let the kids play and scoured through the black Friday ad's.

When we got in to town Wednesday night I noticed a headache coming on. I figured it was from driving and the allergies in the air. On Thursday I woke up and the headache was still there, but not bad. I took some Tylenol to try to get rid of it.

Once the meal was ready, my head was really starting to throb. I thought since the Tylenol didn't work that it was a sinus headache. Greg went to Walgreens to get me some meds, and I took it with dinner.

Dinner was amazing. I wanted to take pictures of all the family, and of each couple and the kids.

But I only got a few pictures, by the time I ate my dinner I had a full blown migraine. It stunk. As soon as I was done eating I went straight to the room to sleep and try to get rid of it. I missed dessert and all the family time. About 1.5 hours later my head was throbbing so bad I was about to get sick. I couldn't take it anymore, and I couldn't take anything else with acetaminophen in it. I finally broke down and took some Motrin, I felt SO bad, but I had to, I was in so much pain. About another hour passed and I was able to get out of the bed and hang out with the family. By now it was dark. Opa had a camp fire going and the kids were roasting marshmallow's. I felt like I missed all of Thanksgiving because of this darn headache.

I was glad to be feeling better because Tina, Katie and I were going to go shopping on Black Friday. My favorite thing ever. I wait all year for it. I hated that most of the stores opened at midnight, but the stuff we wanted most was at Home Depot and they opened at 5. So we just decided to go to Home Depot in the morning. We got there and got what we wanted. I got a nice pre-lit Christmas tree for $49. We also got fresh wreath's, garland and poinsettia's. We headed in to Austin to get some shopping in. We pulled in to Target about 545. No cars at all. It was dead. Damn, we missed it all. They still had most of the deals, we got a few things then went to Walmart, again DEAD. Ugh. I wanted to fight with the crowds. After that we went to the Mall and got a few things there, had some breakfast at Ihop and then headed home. We were home by 10am. I was so sad. I guess next year we have to go at midnight if we want to see the crazy people and all the crowds. I did got off cheap this year, that is a plus.

The kids went to the Zoo with Opa on Friday. Us ladies stayed home and napped. Then that night Opa got the tractor going and took the kids for a ride.

Then we headed to Johnson City for their lights. The kids were kinda moody, they were tired when we got there, especially Landon.

We've gone to these lights every year and it's always dead. BUT, it was jam packed. There was a ton of horse and carriage rides, food booths, shopping booths and Santa!

It was actually nice out that night, usually we freeze out butts off, but it was nice to where you only maybe needed long sleeves.

Landon did NOT want to see Santa. He was in a sour mood. He was beyond tired. But once we got to them, I sat him on Mrs. Klaus lap and he was good to go.

Sam and Katie headed home after that and we went back to Oma and Opa's house. Saturday we hung out, let the kids play, enjoyed relaxing, ate some lunch packed the car and headed home!

It was a great weekend, I hate how fast they go. I hate that I had such a terrible headache, I felt like I missed the entire day, I was just out of it. But I am thankful we had a such a wonderful meal with all the family! Happy Thanksgiving.

Karate Party

Yesterday Landon was invited to go to Aubree's Karate Party. He was SO excited and kept asking all day long, "How many more minutes til the Karate party?" Greg and I weren't really sure what to expect, we'd never gone to anything like that.

It turned out to be a lot of fun, Landon enjoyed it so much. They did so much with the kids and Landon was at a perfect age where he really enjoyed it. He listened, followed all the rules and had a blast!

She taught them to say 'yes m'am' anytime she talked to them, taught them to count to 3 in Korean, and showed them lots of great moves!

I got a cute video of Landon punching the punching bag, but it takes forever to download, I'll attempt it later. He loved that part!

And Miss Charlotte was there too watching all the action.

They sang Happy Birthday and had some cake....

Then Aubree opened her presents and then the kids ran around while they party wrapped up. It was a great time. They all got free two weeks of karate, we might go back tomorrow. Landon keeps asking to go to Karate. He sure was sleepy in the car...

It's cloudy out today, still warm, but it's a nice day to relax around the house. Too bad we have no food and need to go to the Commissary today. Then it will be a kick back day. I am glad it's a three day work week this week! Wooohooooo!!!!!
