A day at the park

Yesterday the weather was soooo nice. We had to get outside. We had lots of old bread and tortilla's so we decided to head over to the park and feed the ducks and play. Well, I think everyone else in this city had the same idea. It was packed, and there were no ducks around, they must have been full! haha. So we enjoyed the sunshine and warmth and let Landon play. We hadn't been to this park for a while, and it's amazing how Landon can go play now and we don't have to worry about him!!! So nice.
He loved this wiggly bridge when he walked across. Wait, he bounced across it, and ran. There was no walking, none the less, he liked it.

It sure made me nervous but he climbed up and went on this slide a gazillion times. He called it the "Batman slide."

It was very nice to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. Landon wasn't ready to go, but it was time. We ran errands when we were done and then came home and made breakfast for dinner! After dinner Greg and Landon FINALLY cleaned the garage. Landon was a big helper and was so excited to help daddy. I held down the couch, I am so tired at night now!

Today has been a normal Sunday. Cleaning, errands and such. Dinner is almost ready. I am making Lime and Chili Chicken Tacos in the crock pot. It's a really easy simple recipe, I like that!!!

1 pkg Chicken (I used tenders)
1 tablespoon Chili powder
3 tablespoons lime juice
1 pkg frozen corn
1 jar of salsa
Taco shells, cheese and whatever garnishes you like!

Mix chili and lime juice then pour over the chicken in the crock pot. Cook for 4 hours until chicken is done. Shred chicken with forks, then add corn and salsa. Cook another 30-45min till heated all the way though. Very tasty and easy! Just what I like!

Cakes & Beds

Sorry I didn't blog yesterday. I had a staff meeting/training at night, by the time I got home I was spent and ready for bed. I said hi to Greg, then I went to Landon's room to say goodnight and give him a kiss and then I walked straight to our room and went to sleep! I think the tiredness is kicking in. I still feel really good, I am waiting for something to kick in, extreme exhaustion, nausea vomiting...I'm sure it will come, but for now I will enjoy being in the early stages of pregnancy and feeling good. (oh and no more headaches, whew!)

So I've been searching for twin size beds for Landon. He is ready to move out of his toddler bed now. Plus I'll need that mattress for the crib for the new baby. I've been searching around online and found some stuff I like. I found this one below at JcPenney's!

For the head and foot board it's $179 I believe. They have a 5 piece set: headboard, foot board, mirror, dresser and nightstand, for $599. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Landon needs a dresser, but don't think he needs a mirror...???
This is the diaper cake I saw online and want to try to replicate! I got most of the stuff, and I'll put the bear on top of it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to wrap blankets around like that, but I may try....not sure. I'm going to go to Sam's Club tomorrow and buy a big pack of Swaddlers to start making it. I'll keep half the box for myself and use the other half for the cake!!! wooohoo!!

So tonight was a nice night. We went to Red Robin for dinner then PetSmart and Target. It was nice to be out, seems like we haven't really left the house all week. It's supposed to snow again on Monday, I am ready for warm weather already. This snow and cold is starting to wear on me. I need to get outside!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Whatcha' got planned???

Diaper Cake

I'm making a diaper cake for a baby shower coming up in March. The colors are brown and blue. I went to Hobby Lobby to look for some ribbon's and things in brown and blue. I didn't have too much luck. I did find some ribbon and grabbed that. We ran to WalMart and I went down their craft aisle and found some really cute ribbons so I grabbed those too. I also got the shredded paper and the topper. Which ribbons do you think I should use? The striped one is from WalMart, the other's Hobby Lobby.

Which do you like best? I am going to keep the polka dot ribbon for sure and use that on the food table. I am going to fill my apothecary jars with blue candy and tie that ribbon around it.

I am feeling pretty good. This is the first day in the past 4-5 days that I haven't had a headache, weather it's been a small one that's barely there, but there, or a migraine that knocks me out! I feel very bloated, and thick around my waist today. I really wanted to loose weight before I got pregnant, but I am just thankful I am pregnant. I am going to just have to be careful with my eating and definitely going to have to get back to the gym!
I am waiting for my referral to go through so I can get my first appointment. If I don't hear from them by tomorrow afternoon I am going to call. You all know how long I had to wait for them to call with all my other results! ha!

Greg and Landon were sitting on the floor this evening trying to build this dinosaur thing. I was watching some reality show on TV that I know Greg hates. It was 7 and the show was over. Greg said, "can you please put it on something good since it's 7 now?" I responded with, "aye aye captain!" Landon looked at me, then at Greg and said, "aye aye captain" and saluted Greg! It was sooooo funny. Greg and I were cracking up.

The big news!

If you haven't already heard, are you ready to hear our big news? I'll let Landon tell you:

Oops, sorry. He is being a little shy. What he is trying to tell you is that he is going to be a BIG BROTHER!!!!

Yes you read that right. I am pregnant! I found out on Sunday. I took two tests that were both positive pretty fast. I was shocked and wasn't expecting a positive result. Greg was at work. So Landon was with me. When it was positive I told Landon, "I think I'm pregnant!" He said to me, "Oh, you are?" It was in a very quiet concerned, almost like he understood what I was saying voice! Very funny. I was in shock most of the day. Greg was elated! I took dinner to the station to celebrate. I got Chilli's to-go! It was yummy in my tummy.

I went in yesterday to get blood work done. I got the call this afternoon that it was positive! Yeay! So now I am waiting for my OB/GYN to call me back saying when I can schedule and appointment. (They wanted to review the results before I could schedule)So that's our big exciting news!

It explains the headaches I have been having alllll the time. Explains why my boobs are spilling out of my shirt. It explains why I've been craving carrots with ranch! ha. Lots of those odd things make sense to me now, I should have known all along, but with my past and my cycles I try to not get my hopes up anymore!!
Looks like I was 6 weeks as of yesterday, my due date will be 18Oct. I am hoping and praying Greg will be home from his deployment by then!!!!!

Short and boring! ha

I just thought I'd stop and say hi. I am battling a really bad headache right now. A migraine I think. I can't seem to get rid of it.

I have a secret to share, I am waiting for 'offical' word before I can share. Can you guess what my big news is??

I am off to bury my head in my pillows in a nice dark room....

Oodles of Birthday Fun

Our Saturday started off with lots of cleaning, then going to the Commissary, lunch, naps then oodles and oodles of fun at Jackson's Birthday party.
Zoey, Landon and Jackson bouncing away. Landon is a pro at bouncy castles, and had a great time!

He even wrestled and doggie piled with the big boys!

The birthday boy Jackson laying in the drive way, taking a break and eating some jelly beans!

Landon would bounce for a minute, then run to the food table, grab a jelly bean, JUST ONE, and run back to the castle to jump! It was so silly. A few times he would run and look at me and say, "We're not leaving yet mom, RIGHT?" or "I looooove jelly beans, right mom?"

I love how Zoey jumps, just like a fragile little princess, sooooo freakin cute!

Landon and Zoey were crawling around and playing dogs. Landon was the dog and Zoey was feeding him dog food. Or, jelly beans!

All in all it was really nice out and Landon had a great time. I enjoyed myself too, lots of ladies from work so it was fun. When it was time to go I knew I was going to have to deal with a melt down. I was right. He got his goodies bag and he calmed down finally. WE came home had some dinner now we are relaxing and going to watch some Olympics. Have you been watching them at all??

Beautiful Friday

Sunny and 70 degrees outside, that's what I'm talking about! It was gorgeous out today. A little windy and chilly this morning but the afternoon was great. Today was show and share Friday for Landon, and like I said earlier he had a special 'item' to share.

Greg and another guy who's daughter is in Landon's class brought a firetruck and themselves dressed up to Landon's class. Landon's teacher said when they walked in all the kids froze and went to circle time and sat quietly. I am not sure what was said or done, but Ms Glenda got a great picture of Greg and Landon. (the quality is bad I took a picture of a picture)
After talking they went outside and checked out the fire truck. The kids were in awe, Landon of course has seen these and been on them a million gazillion times, so he was excited, but bouncing alllll around. I felt bad for his teachers. When Landon's class was done checking out the truck, listening to the sirens and spraying water I took some of the kiddos in my class to check it out. The kids would have loved to have them there all day! Poor Greg and Cantu were tired! They said the kids were funny but wild. Yeah, see what I deal with all day??? haha

When I got off work Landon and I went to Target. We needed to get a gift for the birthday party tomorrow. I told Landon if he didn't have an accident and pooped in the potty at school I would buy him a surprise. Guess what? No accident AND he pooped on the potty. Way to go Landon. So I told him he could get a surprise. He kept asking me, "Mom, what's my surprise? What Can I get mom?" We walked up and down the aisles. He pointed to a few things and I knew he wouldn't even play with those things. Then we reached a blue Batman with a blue cape. I showed Landon, he said yes he wanted it, I showed him he had a cape and he could rescue allllll the people and princesses and pony's! His eyes lit up and I knew we had to get it. He instantly asked me to open it, but was very patient while we finished shopping! I found this cute outfit too:

Too cute to pass up. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Target's kids clothes, and they are so cheap and really good quality. Very Spring looking, I like that!

So now I am battling yet another headache. I think it's the 'that time of the month' headache. Yuck, but I'm not sure. I've seem to be getting a lot of headache's lately. I think I need to make an appointment to get it checked out. I have a hard time deciphering if it's a sinus headache, headache or a migraine. Like today, nothing is making it go away...

I sure hope that tomorrow stays semi nice. I know the weather forecast is showing snow again next week. This is Texas for heaven's sake. It's not supposed to be this cold! ha! Before you know it I'll be moaning and complaining that it is 110 and way too hot. I'd better enjoy it while I can, I know!

Almost Friday!

Tomorrow is Friday! Yeay! This week has actually gone really quick and smooth. I wish all weeks were like this. I've been sleeping like a log. I'll wake up in the morning and be in the EXACT same spot as when I laid down in bed. It feels great to sleep so good. Those antibiotics I was on made me restless and kept me awake allll night long it seemed like. Landon's been sleeping like a champ too!

We finally made it to Sam's Club today. We haven't been because we didn't want to pay for our membership renewal! We finally decided to go. We got water, Landon a book, Greg got protein and I got this:

It's time! Way over due to get back on track in get in shape! I hope this can control my hunger and eating and then I can go to eating right. Anything to give me a boost and get me going. I did Slimfast in the past and liked it. Sooo...wish me luck.
Tomorrow is show and share for Landon, it's the letter "F"
We were talking at dinner the other night what Landon had that started with an F that he could bring. We named a few things and then Greg had a great idea. He said, "Landon, you should bring Firefighter Daddy to school!" So Greg is going to go to Landon's class tomorrow dressed in his Firefighter gear and he will be Landon's show and share. He is also going to go with a Firetruck and some other guys, It should be lots of fun!!!

The sun is shining and it's FINALLY warming up. I am so happy. I would love to go for a walk but they are building some new houses on our street and it's crazy! Definitely no going outside till it calms down.

Looks like it's Chinese for dinner tonight. Have you ever tried these? Wanchai Ferry? I have and I love them, I think they turn out great!!!!! Happy Thursday almost Friday Ya'll :)

Oh the many faces of Landon

I don't know why but Landon refuses to look at the camera for us, if he does, he has a weird face. Sometimes I wonder what in the world is wrong with him? Why on Earth won't he look at the camera for me??? I think he is just stubborn, most likely that is what it is. Some times it just frustrates the tar outta me! Jennifer captured some funny pictures of Landon this weekend, she did better at getting him to look than I ever can!

Above look: The 'It wasn't me, nope Not me' look
Below: The 'I'm so angry' look, the pouting look, the roll my eyes in the back of my head look.

Below: His I LOVE Pony's look, yes, he LOVED every minute he had with Ava AND her ponies!

And below is his sweet baby face. I just want to grab his cheeks and give him kisses all over!
Even though Landon refuses to look at the camera, or look at the camera and smile (for me)I still love him to pieces!!!

Dallas World Aquarium

Saturday we visited the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas. We went about 6 months ago and really enjoyed it and wanted to go back. If you are ever in the area and have some time you should definitely try to go. It is a little pricey, adults was $20 and kids $12.95, but we thought it was worth it!

As soon as we pulled up to the place Landon knew exactly where we were. He was running and jumping and saying how excited he was! The last time we went was a week day and right when they first opened. We pretty much had the place to our selves. This time of course was a weekend around 1230. It was busy!

We flew through most of the exhibits, the bird ones at least. (Not too interesting to me either) We spent most of our time there in the shark/fish part! (Go figure!)

Last time we could see the Manatee's just floating a good distance away, this time they were up on the glass. It was way cool. The tail on that thing was bigger than Landon, he could have swallowed Landon in one gulp!
There was a diver in that tank feeding the fish and cleaning, Landon thought that was really cool and said he was there to get NEMO! When I asked him what his favorite thing was when we were finished and he of course said, "The diver!"

They have all these different tanks filled with fish from all over the world. They are beautiful!

We spent a lot of time sitting in the shark tank. It looks like Landon is touching that shark.....

They had some Mayan dancers there, but they were in an awful spot so we couldn't see them dancing, we could just hear the music and see their heads moving around. I think by that time my battery was DEAD as a door nail, leave it to me to be un-prepared! haha. I could have taken some pictures of them as we finally walked by. I think we were only there about and hour and a half. It was so busy, we got to see every thing, some things twice, and Landon was ready to go see Ava!!

I hope this week continues to go smoothly. Today has been relaxing and good. I can breath again, and no tummy problems. I am done being sick for the year!!! haha. We have a birthday party to go to on Saturday, then we have one the following weekend at Chuck E Cheese and then at the end of March it will be Ava's birthday. Fun Fun Fun!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope everyone has had a great one. I got a very special gift from my two Valentine's this year

They went to Color Me Mine and painted me that heart plaque. So cute! I love it. It will be something I will have forever! Thank-you Greg and Landon.

This past week, the past two weeks to tell you the truth, have been insane. I am FINALLY feeling better from my sinus and ear infections. I also came down with a nasty stomach virus on Tuesday night and Wednesday. NOT fun. Greg had it as well, and thankfully we are both feeling much much better.

Greg and I decided we needed to get away from Abilene for a day. The weather has been bad, snowy and cold, and we needed to get out. We drove to Dallas on Saturday morning and went to the Dallas World Aquarium. We really enjoyed it last time and really wanted to go back. Landon enjoyed it so much this time. He was running from exhibit to exhibit saying, "I'm so excited!" and giving fist pumps! When we were done we wanted to go to Alex, Jennifer and Ava's to say hi. Landon was excited about that as well.

Landon and Ava played for a while. Then we decided to go out to eat. We went to TGI Fridays. We don't have one here, so it was nice to go some where different. They hare having a really good deal going one. 3 course's for $12.99. So I got the mozzarella sticks, Santa Fe Chicken Salad and Vanilla Bean cheese cake. Greg got Spinach Artichoke dip, Sizzling Parmesan Crusted Chicken and Peanut butter cup pie. It was all great!!!! Soooooooo much food, we took the majority of it home.

We ended up staying the night and got up early and went shopping in Frisco.

Greg bought Landon some Army Men at the Disney Store. I am sure I will be stepping on them soon. One of my main things to look at and get is shoes for the little man. Mission accomplished!

Journey's for Kids was having a great sale, so we got two pairs. After shopping and lunch we drove on back home!!! I had a great Valentine's weekend. I hope you did too!!
