Did you hear that?

Landon and Ava were giving Landon's new Fire Truck a test drive. Ava was the driver and Landon was the lineman putting the 'fires' out. They talked and babbled the entire way down the drive way. They took turns, but not long, because Landon wanted to spray that water. Ava was a great cousin and just kept driving.
After putting out all the 'fires' in Oma and Opa's front yard it was time to go for a leisurely stroll. They were searching for flowers and rocks....running through the yard....
When all of a sudden they heard a noise. "What was that?" said Ava. "I dunno," said Landon. They started giggling and running faster. The noise got louder and mommy was beginning to yell, "What was that noise? RUN Landon, RUN Ava!" And they did...

They saw something black and moving, what could it be. The giggles got louder and louder, they veered off to the right screaming and laughing when they saw this...

Then all of a sudden, "BOOOO, ROARRRRRR!"

It was just daddy/uncle Greg. They continued to laugh and run. And of course Greg chased them through the yard while I snapped pictures...They kept running and running for a good ten to fifteen minutes, uncle Greg/daddy was getting tired and cold. That's when they stopped for a hot chocolate break.

What a fun Christmas morning...

Greg took Landon to the Doctor this morning. Poor baby has Croup yet again. They put him on a steroid for three days to help get rid of it. At least we didn't land in the ER again. He already seems to be feeling better. He sure does bounce back quick.

Phones

Yay for new cell phones! Our contract was about up, then we realized that we had Alltel and then Verizon took over so we were no longer in a contract. We both needed new phones, so we went and got some. I've been wanting a Blackberry or iPhone forever. We have a really awesome plan right now, and we didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for phones and a arm and a leg on our monthly bill....soo....we both ended up with....

The Samsung Rogue. It's a touch screen and we can get online and everything. I am not very tech savvy so I can't tell you much, but i can tell you that I really like the phone and it's only $10 a month to have the Internet! You have to buy the $30 data package with the Blackberry, and that just seemed kinda much for us....

So what are your plans for New Years? I have to work New Years eve, and Greg is working too, so looks like Landon and I will be bringing in the New Year together, and most likely we will be snoring in our beds, except I don't snore, remember?

Snow Day!

Christmas eve we had a really big snow storm, maybe even a blizzard. It was beautiful. We don't see weather like that in Abilene too often. We were headed to Austin for Christmas, and of course it wasn't snowing there. When Greg got home from work he had to take Landon out to play in it before our trip! They had a blast, even though it was SUPER cold out.

Landon didn't care for it at first. He walked around, checked out all the white stuff...

Then him and Daddy made 'dinosaur' tracks!

Daddy tried to get Landon to make snow angels, Landon just watched silly daddy freeze his booty off making them! hahaha

It's actually supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow. I am happy! I just don't like driving in it. There is still some snow in the shady spots, well, more like ice now. Can you believe the end of the year is almost here? I can't believe it is going to be 2010. That sure is weird to write....

Wonderful Weekend

So we've been having such a wonderful weekend here in Dripping Springs. I can't believe Christmas is over already. The month of December flew by. All the planning and preparations are over. Time to get back into the swing of things....

Yesterday was a nice day. We played with toys in the morning and then after breakfast we headed to Target to check things out. Then we came home took a nap and played some more. Oma and Opa were very nice and Alex, Jennifer, Greg and myself got to go on a double date! We wanted to go to a IMAX theater to watch Avatar, we got there and the movie was sold out for the entire day. So we were off to another movie theater. It was six and most movies were starting at 7. We got to the movie and Jennifer and I jumped out and bought some tickets. Holy cow, $26.00 for both of us to go. We then hopped back in the car and went across the street and had dinner at Buffet Palace. We all pretty much scarfed our food down and then we ran back across the street for the movie. That theater was PACKED!

So we were there about 15 min before the movie started and it was already pretty full. We had to sit on the bottom row. I think we were about six rows from the screen. We had to sit with our heads back on the seat. And I'm not really in to these movies and it was AMAZING! The 3D really made you feel like you were there. It was crazy. It was a really good movie, no slow or boring parts, and it was a love story too, so that's good. About 3/4 into the movie I started to get sick. I guess it was the 3D part, at the time I didn't know that's what it was.

After the movie we were waiting outside the bathrooms and a guy came walking out on his phone and was like, "yea the 3D made me nauseous!" I started laughing, thank god it wasn't just me!

Well, time to load up the toys in the car and head back to Abilene, our stay here has been lots of fun, and Santa sure was good to us this year!

Merry Christmas!

\Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We spent ours with Greg's family in Austin. It sure was a busy yet relaxing day, if that makes sense, and I am ready for bed already.

The snow storms delayed Alex, Jennifer and Ava to getting here to late last night. We hung out and ate dinner and Landon ran around playing. He enjoyed all of Oma's Christmas decorations and was checking them all out.

Landon went to bed around 1030 and shortly after they arrived. Santa came soon after.....boy was Santa good to us this year.

We pretty much had to wake the kids up. I kept hearing bells outside the door this morning. It was Opa trying to wake the kiddos up. They were finally awake around 7 something. I can't remember. Landon was up first and we told him to go wake Ava. He ran into her room and said, "Ava, Santa came and we have lots of presents!" They ran to the Christmas tree.

They had some juice to wake them up and we all got situated then it was time to open gifts. Man, Landon sure did get a lot of things. There were his gifts from Santa, Grammie and Poppa Bob, Grandpa Rick and Grandma Alma, Opa and Oma and us. There were also gifts from friends and family members! Landon was an opening machine. He of course wanted to stop and open everything, But he flew threw them, excited to see what else he was getting.

All of the stuff below is for all three of us, but mostly Landon! He got so many wonderful gifts and is one lucky boy.

Santa brought Landon this cool fire truck that shoots water!

Ava got lots of My Little Pony's from Santa, and Landon was in Pony heaven. He's pretty much been playing with Pony's all day long. He hasn't let those things go. He's played with some of his stuff, but mostly heads back to those ponies.

We went outside to check out Landon's new fire truck. It was a cool crisp morning, I loved it! Landon and Ava ran around, and Greg chased them through the 'Forrest'.

Oma and Opa made some hot chocolate so Landon and Ava could warm up, and according to Landon and Ava, "It was the best tea party ever!"

We had a small lunch and the put Landon down for a nap. Then we got Landon in his Christmas outfit and we took some pictures, Notice he has those darn My Little Ponies.

We had a wonderful turkey dinner around 4. It was delicious...

Kenny gave us the wish bone and told us to break it, it was of course still like rubber and it was not going to snap.

After dinner, desert and playing we drove about 20 min to Johnson City to look at their lights, they sure did have a good display!

Now Landon's been bathed, all the men are snoring and sleeping on the couches and chairs, I think it's my turn, I am pretty tired myself. Oh yea, minus the snoring. I don't snore! Now, how am I going to pry Landon away from these My Little Ponies............?

Happy Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve Ya'll! If you are traveling I hope you have safe travels. We did our traveling today. We left Abilene around 11am. We stopped for some lunch on the road and then we were off. The HWY was covered in snow. We had to take it slow. It was very slick and icy. There were cars sliding off the road and we almost landed in a ditch. But, Greg is a good driver and we didn't. We drove in ice and snow for about 30-45 min. Then it was clear and rainy. Once we got closer to Austin it was sunny and VERY windy..

Landon ate lunch, watched some cartoons then took a snooze. He sleeps during car rides, but ALWAYS, like I've said in the past, wakes up screaming. He did pretty good today.

How could Santa not love that little face. Even if he did have some 'naughty' days!
We drove through a little town called Mason:

Then we went through a little German town called Fredricksburg. They had a life size, insert name here, and it was pretty cool. I can't remember what this is called, Tina either.
We made it here around 300pm. We are hanging out now, waiting for the rest of the family to get here. We are having ham for dinner and some other things. Then we are off to the trail of lights in Wimberley! It's pretty cold and windy out, hopefully we will make it through with out freezing our butts off.

Merry Christmas Eve!

SNOW

It's cold as heck and snowing away here in Abilene. Looks like we may have a white Christmas this year! I am soooo excited. It feels like Christmas!

Now I need to go and pull the trash can from the curb, but I don't want to go out there. It's windy and the snowing is blowing all around in circles. Crazy...

Merry Christmas Eve, Can't wait to post some pictures later!

These Boots are made for walkin'

I got another few things marked off my 'list'. One of them was to mail off Landon's school pictures and Caitlyn's Christmas present. Well you'd better believe it, I toughed out the crowed at the post office and got all three things in the mail! Yep, I sure did. FINALLY! The line wasn't too bad when I got there, maybe ten people in front of me. By the time I left, ugh, it was insanely lonnnng. Now I just have one thing left on my list. And I'm stumped.

All the presents are wrapped. I loaded them into a big bag so we can take them with us. The big red bag is filled with gifts for Landon. From Santa, us, Grandparents and friends. He is going to be opening presents forever! Funny thing is, that isn't even all the presents. How on Earth are we going to get all this in the car, and get our personal stuff and ourselves in there? Holy Moly, it's going to be a cramped drive. (the bag doesn't look big here, but it is, it's huge!)
I knew my Dad and Alma had sent Landon some shoes, they were coming from a shoe place. I was so excited when I saw them I couldn't wait for Landon to see them, We let him open them this weekend. HE LOVED THEM!

First you have to shake it to see if it makes noise and then you can possibly figure out what it is....

Then you rip into it..

It's dinosaur shoes that light up! Awesome, super cool! Landon loves them. Next it was on to one more present, Landon was warmed up and ready to go! He got a Bakugan, and he was very excited about it!

I can't wait for Christmas morning. I think it is going to be lots of fun. Landon is in to opening presents and all the hoopla. I'm so excited, I can't wait. These days are slowlllllly passing by!

Oh and the story I told you about, the one with the lady driving all over the road. We found out that the lady was having cardiac arrest and had lots of health problems. Bless her heart. I guess she is ok. Breaks my heart even more. So so so very sad.

4 days

Only 4 days till Christmas! I'm starting to get really excited. I have a long list of things to do and I've slowly been checking items off that list. Today was another one of those 'list' days. After work I FINALLY finished my shopping for Greg. CHECK. Then I went and got Landon from school, I got off at 1, and he was still asleep so I went to the BX really quick. We came home, wrapped the gift, I didn't let Landon see so he wouldn't tell! haha, then Greg came home and off to the Dr's we went. Landon was over due for a check up at the Dr's. Plus I needed a form signed by his DR for the daycare. Well, he was due for 1 shot and still needed the H1N1 vaccine. I was a little weary about it. But, he has to have it. So, needless to say, we walked out of the Dr's office with a sucker and sticker in one hand and alligator tears rolling down his face. It broke my heart today. When we got to the car Landon said,

"She hurt me! She drived me nuts!" As he was trying to catch his breath from crying!

He was fine once he was in the car and told me what he really thought. So Doctors visit, CHECK. Next on the list was to get my car inspected. So, that took about FOREVER! But it's done now too. CHECK! Greg wanted BBQ, I didn't, but we drove down to Potosi to a little place he's been wanting to try.

So on our way to the BBQ place it is down a road where people go fast, it's outside City Limits so people go fast and it's busy. Anywho, there was a truck with it's flashers on, and a car in front of it swerving all around. We thought something was up. Either this person was drunk or something. We followed for a few miles. The car would pull over and stop, and the truck behind it would too. No one wanted to go around because then the car would start going again, it swerved into the other lane and back to the shoulder and stopped. What in the world? Then the car turned around. It was a pretty old lady in the car. Sooooo sad. She was swerving alllll around on the other side of the road, and that truck that was behind her kept going. A little down the road he turned around and followed her again. So the rest of the way we were talking about it. It was really sad, and we were both concerned as to what was going on. So Greg gets his BBQ and we are driving home. We get to our turn and down the road we see a TON of flashing lights! OH NO. We drove down there, and sure enough, that car got into another accident with another vehicle. So sad. I hope she and the other driver we ok. I am sure that truck had the cops on the phone because when he turned around he was on the phone. I don't know why but I felt soo bad. That poor lady. I wonder what was going on.

I've got a headache and am exhausted. It's been non stop these past few weeks. I need a nice relaxing break where I don't do anything. That'll never happen. But I can wish right? I've been seeing previews for the next Bachelor! I can't wait for it to start! I am a sucker for that show!! :)

Parties and Gingerbread House

We went to a birthday party this afternoon. Landon had lots of fun. It was all girls of course..

Then we came home, had some dinner and made a gingerbread house. It was fun. VERY messy. And Greg and I both wanted to do it all. We should have bought three and we could have all done one ourselves! haaha

It was a fun day, can't wait till Christmas. Are you ready? I think we are...

Here I am!

Here I am! Just in case you have been wondering where I was! haha, I've been very busy this week. Greg is feeling better. Not 100%, but definitely a lot better. They put him on profile for two weeks. He has been working 8 hour shifts. I forgot how nice that was, I think Greg did too. It also means he will be off on Christmas, so that is nice. Looks like we are headed to Austin. Yippe!

I've finally got my shopping done for Landon. I have Greg left, and a few other things to get and then we should be be done. I still have NOT sent off poor Caitlyn's package. I have had her Christmas gift since November, but I CAN'T find a box for it! They are all too small or too big. Sorry baby Caitlyn.

We went out shopping today and it was insane. We almost saw two car accidents. Every parking lot was jam packed. We stopped for lunch at Red Robin. Wow! Were were pleasantly surprised. Greg and I haven't been there before. It was very good. I really liked the atmosphere. Greg got a gingerbread milkshake and it was DELICIOUS! It was amazing actually. We had a $5 off coupon and they gave a military discount. So for all three of us to eat drinks and a milkshake it was only $21. We will most likely go back.

Before shopping and lunch we went to paint pottery. We were doing it with intent to give as gifts, but I didn't really know the procedure and that it would take a week to get a piece back. So, Landon and Greg painted anyway, we were there for about an hour, Landon talked the entire time, and painted his whale, purple. Yes, a purple whale. Don't ask.....

Greg painted the dinosaur. I am excited to see how they turned out. I'll take an after picture for you to see.

Tomorrow I have to go to Bed Bath and Beyond, Sam's Club and the Commissary. We also have a Birthday party at 3. Another busy day. Right now I am going to relax on the couch next to Greg and watch the Cowboys game. I hope they beat the Saints! So far they are doing good! My fingers are crossed.
