16 Months

Yesterday Mr. Owen turned 16 months old. This past month has FLOWN by. I had said it seemed like you were 14 months forever, and it seems like 15 months only lasted a week or so. I am trying to figure out when I want to stop doing the monthly updates. I like to go back and look at them. I wish I had something like this for Landon because you forget so much. I may stop at a year and a half, then just do yearly. I am not sure.

So Mr. Owen, what are you up to these days?

~ You are 21lbs (Finally)!

~ You are in size 12-18 month clothes. I've noticed that a lot of your 12 month stuff is starting to get small. But pants wise, 12 month fits great. You can still fit in some 6 month onesis that we have. You are a peanut.

~ Your foot is a size three and you are in a size 4 diaper.

~ You go to bed between 745-800. Sleeping has been bad like I said before. Some nights you sleep all night, others you are up once, sometimes you are up for hours. It's weird. It's frustrating. It's tiring. But you are usually up for the day about 6-630. This weekend you slept til 7-730 both days, that was nice.

~ You are on a great nap schedule. 12-2. The weekends it may start later and end later, or last longer. Which is cool.

~ Eating: Well, you were doing good. Some new things you like are veggie straws, pretzels and cinnamon toast. This milk allergy makes it tough to feed you sometimes. Most simple things that kids love seem to have milk in them. You aren't very good at trying new things. Most of it ends up on the floor. I try new stuff all the time, and I am hoping you catch on one day.

~ Talking: My oh my. You are a talking just like your brother. You are repeat a lot of things we say. Your new word you said today was Whale. It was cute. Some other new ones are: wow, birdie, cat, meow, woof, moo, Elmo, NO, all done, bus, hot, baby and help. I think you may have said some of these things before.

~ You LOVE to be outside. You LOVE to go bye bye. You run so fast for the door. Today we put you in Landon's old push car and we went to the park. You were as happy as a clam. You went down the slide a few times, rode the swing and then put wood chips in the hood of your car one by one, saying thank you and cheesing every time.

~ You still love airplanes and break your neck to find them. You love the buses when we get Landon from school. You are obsessed with pumpkins. You now LOVE Elmo and Elmo's World. You even call Mickey Mouse Elmo now.

~ You don't like to watch cartoons too much, but every now and then it'll catch your attention or if we are sitting with you. You love for us to sing you songs, and one of your new favorites is The Wheels On The Bus.

~ You LOVE your books just like your brother. We read your books over and over. You get so excited and giggle when you get on our laps to read.

~ You are very social and like to say hi to everyone still. It makes me laugh. You get upset if we go somewhere new and you think I am going to leave you. I can't leave you anywhere, boo. Only with daddy.

~ You are a daddy's boy for sure. Most of the time you only want your dad.

~ You and Landon are so funny together. You watch him like a hawk and want to be right there doing what he is doing. You and Landon love to play like your going 'Night Night' and get under the blankets. You love to chase him around and play.

You are such a sweet boy Owen. You love to give us all kisses and have become a really snugly and cuddly boy. Even though your sleeping has gotten crazy, and you stand and whine at me and pull at my pants, I love you more than you will ever know. We love you Owen!

Pumpkin Carving Time

We FINALLY carved our pumpkins today. I wanted to wait so they didn't mold and get rotten. 6 more days til Halloween, I figured it was time.

Now Owen LOVES his pumpkins. He was a little confused as to why we were cutting them all up!

Owen did NOT like the insides. He touched them once.....

And continued to say, "eww" the rest of the time.

I bought a kit from the BX. I LOVE the scoop thing it came with. It's the square thing in Greg's hand. It scraped the sides nice. It worked so well. Better then those flimsy spoons they give you.

Landon's pumpkin had the Grim Reaper on it, it was hard for him, so Greg carved it.

Then Landon took over my pumpkin....

Landon was really good at carving. He did a great job. Here are our finished pumpkins. I did the big one, Greg did the medium one, and Landon did the two small ones while Owen wandered around and fussing....

We have a very tired almost 7 year old on our hands. He had a friend stay the night last night because they didn't have school. (Yesterday or today because of conferences) Owen is cutting like 3 of his canines and has been a fussy thing. He is having bouts of sleepless nights. Like being wide awake for a few hours. Or falling asleep, and when we put him down he cries. That has gone on some nights for three hours. Tiring. Exhausting. Then he will sleep through the night. It's so odd.

Tomorrow Owen will be 16 months old. WOW. I have a hair appointment FINALLY (I haven't gone since February) and then we have a party to go to at one of Greg's coworkers house. I am excited to have things to do!

The North Pole

Today was a fun family day. We went to the North Pole! We went last year around this time. We had a great time. This time we took my friend Kendra, her husband and daughter. It snowed Friday night, so it was cool up there, and patches of snow in the shade. It was so pretty!

The month of October is Military appreciation month, so we only have to pay to get Landon in. Which was nice.

It was so nice in the sun, then the wind would pick up, and yikes, it would get could. Or if you were in the shade.

We went on the train first. Here is Kendra and her family.

I am sure I told the story before but, she worked at my OBGYN's office in Abilene. She was Dr. Ward's nurse. She was always nice, but I thought she hated me! haha. She is super sweet though.

We got there during Owen's nap time. He was pretty good though. You could tell at times he just wanted to crash, but for the most part he went went went!

We had some snacks after the train and a few rides, then we went to see Santa. Last year Owen was little, he pulled Santa's beard. We weren't sure how he was going to be this year.

Adalyn just turned a year old. She is so mellow and laid back. Her and Owen get along pretty good, with their occasional spats like they are married. They were SO stinking cute while we waited for Santa.

I was surprised, Owen fussed at first and then stopped. Could be because Santa SANG to him. It was so sweet.

Santa told Landon he was going to be mad at him, he wasn't going to be able to give him his two front teeth! haha.

Landon told Santa he wanted some Lego's, the Hero Factory ones.

After that we checked out the rest of the rides, went on the Merry Go Round....

Played with the silly mirrors....

Went on the worlds highest Ferris Wheel.... attempted the haunted house, but Landon was a tad too scared.

We got to feed the animals at the fence. Owen was SO excited. He couldn't contain himself, he was shouting "DOGGIES" the entire time and shaking, It was so funny.

It was such a fun time. Owen and Landon had a blast, and that's what matters!

After that we went to Costco and got a membership. I've been a few times with friends and they have so much more stuff. We figured we'd get that one too. We came out with some PJ's for Owen, some yummy Danishes and cereal. I am sure we will be back for more stuff. I love their Christmas selection of toys.

Tomorrow our friend Sabrina is coming with her boyfriend, we get to meet him for the first time. Greg is grilling some fajita's and I am making homemade rice, homemade re fried beans, fresh salsa and guacamole and all the fixins. I also am making that pumpkin cake thing I made in the past. YUMMY!
