Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from the Teague's!

Landon got to wear his costume to school today. He was SO excited, but they weren't allowed to wear masks. I dressed Owen in his Skeleton sleeper....

We went and picked Matthew and Claire from the Youth Center and brought them to our house. The kids had a snack, played and then ate some pizza before getting ready to go trick or treating.

From left to right, Matthew, Jaden, Josh, Landon and Owen, Claire! Joel was with us too be he was running around...... Matthew and Claire are brother and sister and the boys Jaden, Josh and Joel are brothers. Their dad was firefighter and crossed trained in to contracting just like Greg. They live like one house over from us.

Love my boys!

It was next to impossible to get pictures. The kids ran SO fast.

And I wanted a family picture but like I said, Landon was running from house to house. There was no stopping for pictures.

Once it got dark Owen was out....

He was TIRED!

Landon got LOTS of candy.....

Owen woke up and was not happy!

But this little guy was happy with all his candy and trick or treating with his friends!

Happy Halloween 2012!

(I've been sick with strep, that's why I haven't blogged, and tomorrow is Owen's 4 month well baby and he'll get shots. I am NOT looking forward to it.)

A little shopping

This morning was nice. Owen slept til 5am without waking up. When he woke up we both felt SO refreshed. Greg got up and fed Owen, and he was of course up for the day. They let me sleep in. I kinda just laid in bed for a little bit and worked my way down stairs around 7.

Greg went to the gym while me and the boys got ready for the day. Since I was so bored yesterday I made our grocery list and meal planned for the week. So we went to the Commissary and I had a brilliant idea. Outlet Mall!!! Greg was up for it.

So we put the cold groceries away, made a sandwich and hit the road. The drive was beautiful. There was still patches of snow along the freeway, and white covered the mountains!

It was a nice quick drive. Landon played on the iPad while he ate lunch. Owen fell asleep pretty quick...

It seemed like EVERYTHING was on sale! My main goal was to find some stuff for Landon. He's outgrown everything. I also wanted to find Christmas outfits for the boys. First stop was Carter's. They had a ton of stuff. I ended up getting Owen's Christmas Outfit (Or for pictures at least  and a matching shirt for Landon. Gymboree was having a GREAT sale. Oh my goodness. I think that is my new favorite store. We got Landon a hoodie, two pairs of socks and shirt for $23. I could have bought a ton more, but I wanted to see what else we could find. Next was Gap. We had a $10 giftcard and a 10% off coupon. I got two pairs of jeans and a shirt. Greg got two shirts and we got Owen a onesis. It was $94 before our stuff, we walked out paying $75. Cha Ching! I was so happy.

Landon is in LOVE with his new dragon hoodie from Gymboree.

And here are the Christmas outfits for the boys. I just need to find Landon some pants. The cords that went with it were too skinny for my solid boy! haha.

All in all it was a great day of shopping. I already want to go back to buy some more!

Owen was a trooper today. Not a peep out of him until our last five minutes before we got home. He was mad mad! He is now squealing. It is so funny it makes us all laugh. And man when 645 rolls around, they boy is ready for a bottle and bed!

He's like a clock! But I am all good with that :)

Boring Day

After being cooped up in the house for three days today was pretty boring for Landon and I. When we woke up there was a blanket of snow on the ground. But it was like 17 degrees outside so we just stayed in our cozy house.

I had plans to go to the BX and buy a few things. They had a nice Martha Stewart stainless steel 10piece pots and pans set for $69 the other day on sale. I looked online and they were on sale at Macy's for $99. It was great deal. Our pots and pans are done. We've used them to death. We got them in 2001. Time for some new ones. I also saw a nice bedding set from Martha Stewart. It was $142 for a 24 piece set. Not bad at all. So I wanted to grab that as well.

After getting myself, Owen and Landon ready we headed out the door about 10 am. We bundled up because it was cold outside....

Owen had just ate and slept while he ate, his new thing instead of napping. So he should have been good. We packed up and headed to the BX, but as we were getting in the car Landon and I got snow off the car and had a snowball fight! As soon as we stepped inside the BX Owen started fussing. He wouldn't stop. He wasn't screaming but just fussing and whining and occasional bouts of screaming.

We got to the pots and pans to find out they were back to their regular price. $89.99. Still not bad, but not $69.99. I wanted to go scan them to see if they still rung up but Owen started again. So we moved over to the bedding. Of course it was on the top shelf and I had to pretty much jump to get it down. I was trying to feel it and look and Owen started screaming. Landon started being crazy and moving the cart all around. That's it! I said let's go. We proceed to leave the store. I needed a soda since we didn't have any at home and grabbed one on the way out. So our trip to the BX was an epic fail. I guess I got out of spending money, but I was so excited to get these things...oh well.

The rest of the day we stayed home. Landon played. Owen fussed. I tried to get some things done. We went to check mail and froze our butts off. We waited patiently for Greg to get home. He was home about 445, I told him, "We're going to Roadhouse for dinner, Let's go!" He showered and we left. Dinner was yummy.

After we ate we went to Kohl's since it's in the same parking lot. You know when you want to spend money you see nothing, and when you aren't really wanting to buy anything you see EVERYTHING! I could have left with a ton of stuff tonight. Everything was on sale and an additional 10% off, plus I had a coupon for additional %15 off my total (Or 20 if I spent 100 bucks) Landon got a toy, I got a shirt and I got Owen a toy for Christmas. I found outfits for them for Christmas, toys, all kinds of stuff! I'm so ready to start Christmas shopping. It's nice to have a selection to shop from. Landon's already got his list going and I want to get the stuff before the shelves are empty!

Hopefully our weekend will be a little more exciting. We need some exciting right now! :)

Conference, Monsters and SNOW

Burrrr! It sure is cold here in Colorado. This morning it was 20 something but felt like 19. The forecast called for snow most of the day. And sure enough, it snowed most of the day. It didn't really stick at all. Some times it was barely visible, some times it was huge snow flakes. It was a nice cozy day to stay home and get better. Tonight they are calling for 1-2 inches of snow. I am hoping it's white outside when we wake up!

This morning was had Landon's parent teacher conference. I was anxious to go. It was his first 'real' one. His teacher had nothing but wonderful things to say about Landon. He has come a lonnng way from when he started and it shows. Greg and I definitely left feeling proud of our little man.

This was his milk jug monster that was in the hallway, along with a story.

They also had the bookfair going on. We of course had to stop by. We got a book for his teacher on her wish list and Landon got a book. He always talks about 'Jack and Annie' and that is the book we got. It's called Dogs in the Dead of Night. It's by Mary Pope Osborne. I guess it's a series of books that his teacher reads and he LOVES it!

You can barely see the snow flakes!

Landon is feeling better. His steroids sure are working. He's been eating like crazy. He gobbled up two slices of cheese for snack and then he asked if we could go get a pizza. About 5 minutes after that he asked if we could go get a cheeseburger! It was 345 in the afternoon! lol Silly boy. He's been bouncing around the house as well. He is crabby right now and his cough is coming back, it sounds better though. Hopefully tomorrow he will be A LOT better.

I need to be better about taking pictures. I kinda peeked at camera's at Sam's Club tonight. I saw a few, but I have no idea what to get or what's a good deal. Anyone have any info? My little Nikon is banged up and on it's last last leg.

With all the holiday's coming I want to make sure I get plenty of good pictures of the boys!

Sick Boy

Well, last night went just as I thought it would. Greg and I laid down to go to bed and Landon started coughing, crying and wheezing. He was pretty much barking. He would do that then fall back to sleep. At one point it got bad. We had his humidifier going, his Vicks plugged in. I rant he steamy shower and he panicked....He wouldn't calm down, he wouldn't take some Motrin, I put on my jeans and was ready to head to the ER. I walked him down stairs and we went outside. It was a fair night, cool but not cold. That nice cool air kinda snapped him out of it and he stopped crying and getting upset. I finally got him to take some medicine and he laid on the couch with Greg and fell asleep watching a movie. The rest of the night was decent. He slept pretty good. But me being a mom kept waking up to check and wondering if he was ok.

This morning he sounded awful. Greg called the appointment line right away. The base is doing an exercise so they had no appointments for the next few days. They gave us a referral for off base. When Greg got home from PT Landon and I went to the Urgent Care.

Sure enough the boy has.....

I knew exactly what it was. I just wanted to get him checked because he could have had Bronchitis too, or RSV. I am so worried about Owen getting sick. I've been cleaning like a mad woman and trying my hardest to keep Owen away from Landon. But the doctor said it's really going around right now. The only thing they can do for Croup is steroids. So that is what he is on. I'm hoping they kick in soon, he isn't happy with his sore throat and cough. He's had croup in the past, several times, but NEVER like this. Usually it goes away pretty fast. This is lingering. I just hope he gets to feeling better fast, and that Owen steers clear of it.

Since Landon did so well at the Doctors we took him to get a toy. You have no idea how much that child fears the doctors! He was so good today. I think it helps that he had a pretty nurse and a pretty doctor. :)

So I'm trying to keep Landon comfortable. Alternating Mortin and Tylenol. He's still sucking on cough drops every now and then. (I got good ones, cherry honey Ricola) And i've been making him hot apple cider. He really likes that. I am guessing it feels good on his throat. I do feel really bad because I can't give him 100% of my attention because of the baby. I really breaks my heart.

Tonight the boys carved Landon's little pumpkin....

I didn't get any more pictures because Owen was ready for bed. He's been going to bed about 630ish lately. Maybe because he isn't sleeping during the day. I think he may have slept a total of an hour all day today....crazy!

I'd better get to bed before the boy calls. I hope he gets some rest tonight. We have parent/teacher conference in the morning at 10. He's been looking forward to it, the book fair is there and we get to go shop afterwards!

Bath time

I took Owen to the Doctor to have his belly button checked. The were actually able to get us in today. She said it looks fine. What I am seeing is like when you loose a fingernail or toe nail and you get that film or whatever over it. That is what's happening with his belly button. She said it's not infected but if it gets red around the area then we need to go to the ER. She said it was a good find and good I came in to get it checked.

Owen loves to take a bath. I try to give him one every other day. It can only be luke warm, or a tad warmer than that. I can't use any good smelling soaps, I have to use the Aveno that's unscented on him.

And when he gets out I have to lube him up with Aquaphor.

His skin is looking better. But it has it's days where it flares up, so we have to take our precautions.

Owen can be totally upset, but as soon as I turn that water on he'll calm down. He loves his bath. He is just like Landon!

When we were at the doctor's today they weighed Owen. He was 13lbs 10.2 oz. I thought he weight way more than that. I searched for Landon's papers to find out what he weighed but I can't find them. I did a wonderful job of putting everything away and cleaning I forgot where I put it.

One thing Owen loves is when I am done changing him on his table is to stand up. He gets SO happy and just smiles and talks!

Such a happy baby at bath time!

And my poor Landon is sick. He came home with a hoarse voice and is coughing. It sounds like that croup cough, the deep barking cough. I feel bad. We are trying everything we can. I gave him some tylenol when we got home from school and he's been sucking on some cough drops. At bedtime I plugged in his vicks thing and turned on his humidifier and gave him some Mucinex. He just woke up and sounded awful. Next time he wakes up I am going to give him Motrin and do the hot steamy shower. Looks like my boy may have to stay home from school tomorrow. We may be headed back to the doctors. I am also hoping we don't have a middle of the night ER trip. :( I just hate when he is sick. I hate it!

A Random post on a Monday

The weekend just flew by. I guess that's what happens when you're busy and having fun. Landon had some homework over the weekend, he had to make an all about me poster. I think it turned out pretty cute. He had fun answering the questions and writing the answer down.

He is learning so much, it blows my mind. Now when we are about and about he is pointing out words. It's crazy! And in like 3 weeks he will be 6. Oh my, where is the time going?

Speaking of where is the time going I had to take all the tags off of Owen's 6 month clothes and wash them today. This is all just some of the new stuff......

I can't fathom that he can wear 6 month clothes. They look big, but they fit.

We got Owen and stand up toy last week. He likes it, even though he still a little little for it.

I have to put some blankets around him because he is still learning his head control. He is doing really good though.

It's hard to hold that big ol' head up :)

Tonight when I was putting lotion on him after his bath I noticed his bell button looked weird. Greg and I examined it. I think it may be infected? I don't know. It just looks weird and smells. I am going to have to call the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully they can get us in and we won't have to wait 6 weeks to get in. (Ok I am exaggerating that, I just miss our old doctors in Abilene)

And looks like Winter is around the corner, or so I hope it it.....

Ahhhhh I love love love this cold weather. I've always liked cold weather. I'm sure I'll get my fix while we are here in Colorado.

Speaking of Colorado. I love it here. I always think to myself about how lucky we are to have gotten an assignment here. It reminds me of home in California. It's also made me think lots about all my family and how much I miss them. Colorado has been good to us thus far. I am still a little home sick for Abilene, but I am happy we are here. Does that make any sense?
