The Voice

I had to be at work at the butt crack of dawn this morning. For some odd reason I made it to base in record time, and had like 15 minutes to kill. I decided to go get a soda at the Shoppette to kill some time, plus I needed some caffeine. It was 4:58am, and they weren't open yet. So I circled back around, listening to some music, and when I pulled up again they were opening the doors! Sweet!

So I grabbed a Diet Pepsi and a pack of gum and headed to work. It was now 5:06am. There weren't any cars on the road I was on. I was driving along, like a turtle, since you have to drive SO slow on base, and then I heard talking. There was a song on the radio, but I heard voices. What in the world? I thought I was crazy, maybe it was just in the song that was playing on the radio. I continued to drive at turtle's pace, passed the BX, and heard it again. This time when I heard it again I about jumped out of my skin!

I turned off the radio and rolled my window down, and heard,

 "Exercise, Exercise, Exercise.

I about died laughing! The base is having an Exercise (That's why I have to be at work so early), I can never understand half of what they are saying on that thing, and I guess they were announcing whatever it is that they announce.

So I did hear a voice, I wasn't crazy, or super tired since it was now 5:08am on a Monday morning! I've heard the 'voice over' a million times in my life, And I guess it goes to show you, know matter how 'used' to the Military you are, and however much you are around it, things can still catch you off guard. Or maybe I am just paranoid? HA!

Busy Weekend

Yikes, it's been forever since I blogged. Sometimes I don't have a single thing to blog about, and i'd hate to bore you to death with nothing. Sometimes I bore myself when I blog and think, "No one will want to read this or even care!" Sometimes I wish I had a fancy blog and a bunch of followers, but then that would mean I would have to have interesting things to blog about, right?

It's been a busy week. I usually get off work at 130 or two. I've gone to the gym every day after work this week. Then after the gym I go back and get Landon. Some days we had a few errands to run, and then by the time we get home, about 330 0r 4, I am exhausted. But my duties at home are just starting! I've got to catch up on blogs, and nose around on Facebook for a little bit, kinda my relaxing, catch my breath and have a snack time. Then it's cleaning, dinner, playing, bathing, cleaning, sometimes watch TV, put the little man to bed, then attempt to stay up past 830. I'll sit to watch a show, then wake up an hour later and totally missed the entire show!

Friday afternoon I got my stuff ready for Ditto's for Kiddo's and dropped it off. The sales start Tuesday. Then when Greg got home we went out to eat at Chili's. Landon actually asked me to take pictures of him, but they were all silly faces. I guess I'll take what I can get!

Today I had to work 10-4 for GPAB. (Give Parents a Break) We have it once a month. The Family Readiness Center gives deployed spouses a voucher to take their child(ren) (for free)to the  CDC (Child Development Center) for a break. It's a pretty cool program, but it sucks to work it! ( I DO get paid, the FRC pays for us to work) haha. It wasn't bad. The day went A LOT faster than I thought it would, and the kids were pretty good.

Landon got invited to a Birthday Party that started at 4. Aften came over and got Landon and took him to the party. I met them there when I got off. It was a beautiful day, perfect for an outdoor party and bouncy castle!

They had a 10wk old puppy there. OH MY goodness, I FELL in love with him. So did Landon. His name is Kilo, and he is half yellow lab and half golden retriever.

Those two! Aften said they were like little teenagers in the back of the car chatting on the way to the party. Landon thought it was super cool for them to come get him, it was the first thing he asked me this morning. "Can Aften and Zoey come get me today?"

The birthday boy got some crabs, they were pretty cool, and Landon thought so too!

When we got home, Greg was waiting for us, he was hungry, he hadn't eaten yet, so we drove thru Taco Bell and then went and walked around the book store. I LOVE book stores, just in case you wanted to know. They are SO quiet, smell so good, like books and coffee, and it's just so relaxing to me. We all walked out with something. Landon got a comic book, Greg a running magazine and me a magazine. I could just sit in there and look at books and magazine forever, all of us could!

Also when I got home this even Greg had bought me some fresh flowers, they were so pretty and smelled so good. Greg is so sweet, I am SO lucky to have him for a husband!

Tomorrow the base exercise kicks off. Greg works 7-7. Ick. I have a bunch of things to catch up on tomorrow. Monday morning I have to be to work at 515am! Yikes. I am going to be tired! Maybe not so much getting up, but I will probably most definitely need a little cat nap in the afternoon.

Happy Monday! I like Monday, well, only because I don't have to work today. And, I am feeling A LOT better.

I was able to go for a run outside today. I was finally brave enough to go by myself. We have a back road over here. It's about 5 miles long, and it goes down by a golf course, and runs into the Airport runway. And then goes along the runway. It's a quiet road, lots of hills, a few turns, and pretty deserted, very desert looking. Lots of people, walk, run and ride bikes back there. There is always some kind of creepy crawly or animal or something out there. One time Greg came across a rattlesnake. Eek! I would have flipped out! Today was just a dead possum, I could handle that. SO I just went for a mile run, I am not used to running outside, and definitely a little nervous to run back there by myself. It wasn't bad at all, except I am wayyyyy out of shape, and was totally out of breath by the time I made it back to the house. When I get off work tomorrow I will run the track on base by the gym, at least it just has cute little bunny rabbits and squirrels on it! (I'm sure snakes too in the summer time!) I've GOT TO get back on track!!

Do any of you have Scentsy products? I've recently purchased some, and I am in love! I bought the warmer at Walmart for $15, they are usually like $30 from Scentsy, and then I bought the bricks from Scentsy.

I have a burner in our room, and one in the entry way. I am burning the Sticky Cinnamon Bun right now, and my house smells SO good. I love this stuff!!!

Dittos For Kiddo's is coming up again. So I am starting to get my labels ready, it's a pain....

Here's the one in my front entry way.

I've been researching vacations. I really want to go somewhere. I researched Disney World vacations. I researched beach destination vacations. I researched tickets and stuff to California. Do you  have any suggestions? The Disney World vacation looks pretty fun.....I wish I was rich so I could book whatever we wanted!!!

I am ready for the Bachelor tonight! Are you watching it? I am, of course, I don't ever miss an episode!

A Day At the Park

Well, we didn't spend the day at the park, but we did go this afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and Spring like weather. I think everyone else around here decided to go as well!

Landon didn't want to get off the swing! He would have sat on there all day if we'd let him.

I've been a little under the weather this weekend. I woke up this morning with a killer headache, and with the antibiotics I am on, they were making me nauseous, so I wasn't in good shape. Thank God Greg is home and took care of Landon so I could crawl back in bed and pull the blankets over my head! Once the meds kicked in and my headache was gone, I was good to go. We went to the Commissary to get some groceries and then I tackled some things around the house that have been waiting for me for a while now. Like that huge pile of laundry. That is one thing about Greg coming home from his TDY, he brought me a butt load of laundry to do!

We are lucky to have tomorrow off, one more day of relaxing.

I could really go for a vacation already. I want to go some where warm. Maybe some where tropical, white sand beaches, little umbrella drinks. Soaking up the sun and reading books. Ahhhh, a girl could wish right?

Movies & Baseball

It was SO nice to get to sleep in today, to not have to wake up at 5am. I love weekend mornings where you slowly get out of bed, turn a cartoon on and snuggle on the couch. I love not having anything to do, and not worrying about getting in the shower at a certain time to be somewhere. I like mornings like those.

Once we did get up and moving and out the door we went to the post office, Kohl's, Chick Fil A for lunch and then went to watch Gnomeo and Juliet.

g
It was a pretty cute and funny movie. Short and sweet, which is perfect with a little one. It had some adult humor in, so I found myself laughing quite a bit!

When we came home the boys went out back and practiced hitting the baseball.

He really likes swinging the bat and hitting the ball. They played outside for a while!

I'm thinking T-ball may be in our future!

Our evening has been pretty quiet, and low key. Greg made spaghetti with meat sauce for dinner, and I've been doing laundry. A nice relaxing day with my boys. And the wonderful thing is, I still have 2 days off!! Woohoo!

TDY

Greg's been TDY for the past two weeks at the Fire Academy on Goodfellow AFB for training. It's not too terribly far from here, and heck, it was only two weeks long. No biggie. He was even able to come home last weekend. We've been through several deployments, 4 to be exact, several TDY's, short ones and long ones, some near, some far. These 2 weeks have gone fast, and smooth (that's always nice, you know how Murphy's Law is) For some reason this TDY I missed Greg like crazy, and I could not wait till he came home today.  I had only be home from work 5 minutes, and I heard his car pull up, I almost ran around to the kitchen to meet him as he came through the garage.

He walked in carrying these

SO sweet, it totally made my day!

Landon is happy to have daddy home too! He's asked me every day if daddy was 'coming home tonight' and how many more days till he got home. I think Landon missed him just as much as I did!

Another TDY notch on the belt. Hopefully we can have Greg home for a while now? Please? Yes I know, wishful thinking! But, We're happy your home Greg :)

Baby Fever

Eh, I am getting baby fever again. My best friend in California, Cindy just had a baby girl, Hailey on Sunday night. I am so happy for her and her family. Congratulations Cindy, Mike and Caitlyn on your new arrival! She is SO tiny and beautiful, I can't wait to meet her. (Hopefully before she is 2! haha)

When talking to Cindy today I got to hear baby Hailey whimper, grunt and cry. It was SO cute, and it gave me baby fever even more!!!!

Lots of friends and people I know are finding out they're pregnant, announcing it on Facebook, or Blogging about it. Heck, I even threw a baby shower last weekend!!! Babies are all around me, and I am getting a serious case of baby fever.

Baby making doesn't come easy for Greg and I. I am very lucky and blessed to have Landon, it took a while to get pregnant. And of course, this time last year I found out I was pregnant and soon after miscarried. Also not helping out the situation is, and was, Greg's schedule and always being deployed!

Hopefully with Greg's new work schedule this baby making stuff will be easier for us? Landon is going to be 5 this year, HOLY COW, my baby will be 5! And I will be 30, we are getting old over here!!! haha.....time's a ticking...

Better Late Than Never

Yes, I am late on a Valentine's day post. But I couldn't go with out putting some picture on here.

SO, Happy belated Valentine's Day! We didn't do anything special around here, Greg is still TDY. Landon passed out Valentine's and had a little party at school.

He got Megamind Valentines, and had fun 'writing' on them, and tearing them apart.

He came home with a bag of goodies, several different types of Valentine's and all the fun candy that comes along with them. I always enjoyed Valentine's day when I was younger, didn't you? It was always fun picking out what Valentine you wanted to give to who, and if I put any candy hearts in the envelope I didn't want to give an "I Love You" one to a boy, so I had to pick out which hearts I could give to people! ha! Nowa a days you don't give open candy out, and, all the Valentine's fold with a heart sticker.

I got a cute candy bouquet from one of my students, and a bear and cookie from another.

And Landon made this cute card for us:

'Guess How Much I Love You'

Isn't that cute? I love it. I love coming home with things like these!

We've spent most nights home, relaxing, playing and reading books. Monday night at like 11pm, Landon got sick, several times, that was no fun. I felt terrible for him, and I found myself doing laundry at 2 in the morning, I was out of sheets for his bed! (He went through 3 sets!) When it was time to get up I wasn't sure how he was going to be, if I needed to call off of work or not. When he got up he told me he wasn't cold, and then began to sing "Boogie Fever." Yes, he was ok!

Tonight we went to Chili's for dinner with Aften, Beau and Zoey, then went and walked around Target.     Thanks for dinner guys! It was fun, and I enjoyed our 'date!'

And, now that the shower is over, it's time to buckle down and hit the gym! I've got a work out partner now, and so we've been going this week. I want to get skinny! hahaha!

FINALLY The Baby Shower

Saturday I hosted, with lots of help of some friends, a baby shower for my good friend Aften. I've been planning it for a few months now. As soon as she found out she was pregnant I told her I wanted to give her a baby shower! I had Aften look over all the party blogs I read and she liked pom poms and pinwheels. SO, pom poms and pinwheels is what she got!

I ended up getting a round cake at a local bakery. We went with a yellow cake with butter cream frosting. I took some ribbon in to wrap around it. I am SO happy with how it turned out, AND it tasted SO good, from now on, I will be getting cakes from them!

I also made Bakerella's Oreo Truffles, they were YUM-O!

We had 3 games. One was guess the dirty diaper candy bar. Celebrity Baby, Parent name match, and the apron guessing game!

(Pretty gross right? Landon cringed when I showed him, it was funny!)

Ms Gail, my friend and co-worker made these AWESOME pinwheels, they turned out SO cute, they were all over the house. She did such a great job!

The food table. Again, I was worried we didn't have enough food! We had a veggie tray with cilantro dip, a fruit tray and fruit dip, cheese and summer sausage, 7 layer dip, little smokies, bacon cheddar ranch dip, ham roll ups, a meat dip, olives and pickle tray, and lots of chips.

We had two punches. A strawberry punch in my cool dispenser from Sam's Club, and another strawberry type punch that Ashley made.

Ms Gail made this banner, it turned out SO cute. I LOVED it. She did an amazing job!

The diaper cake, prizes and take home gifts. Little homemade sugar scrubs that Aften and Ashely made.

The kids had fun playing in Landon's room, it was destroyed when everyone left, but that means they had fun! So it's all gravy.

Ms Margaret made the pom poms.

And here is Ms Gail modeling the apron of items for the game.

We had about 30 people show up. Any more and I think my house was going to explode! haha. Aften had so many presents they took up half the living room. I enjoy having parties and planning them, this one was lots of fun!!!
