The Month of December?

Greg and I kept saying, "Where on Earth did the month of December go?" It seemed like the month flew by right in front of our eyes. We are both sad that the holidays are over. It's just something I love about all the holidays. The house feels more homey, there's an excitement in the air. The stores are busy and stocked with everything Christmas you can imagine. Nice cold weather and Christmas music on the radio.

So now it's time to slowly start taking the decorations down. We usually put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving and take it down New Years day. I've already started gathering things from the living room and putting them all in one spot near the Christmas tree.

Any who, the month of December was busy. Well sort of. It started off great. Grammie and Poppa Bob were here visiting. It was a short visit but a nice one. It was nice to have family here and to have company.

Landon and Owen enjoyed having them around and getting spoiled. Me too! :) We did some shopping, ate some AMAZING German food and started Zap the elf.

We went over to the Air Force Academy. I hadn't been yet, so I was excited to go. It's so pretty there.

We were able to get out and walk around and check some things out. It was pretty quite since it was a Saturday...

We even got to go inside the Chapel. It was SO pretty.

It was definitely interesting to see. Things like that interest me. How the Academy works and all that. Pretty dang cool.

We decorated the pine tree out front and put our inflatable fire truck out.

And Zap was up to lots of monkey business.

Landon also got to build a gingerbread house with them.

It turned out pretty nice!

It was hard to say goodbye........

Dang Zap, you're so bad!

I also got a new iPhone 5! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's so fast and pretty. I can now face time which is great. Landon loves it.

A few days after they left Owen came down with a nasty nasty stomach virus. Vomiting for 12 hours, then diarrhea for about 10 days. Poor poor baby. I was at the doctors three times that week. Landon also had it, and Greg came down with strep again. (He just finished his antibiotics a few days prior to it coming back)

Landon also had Kindergarten craft night. We got to go and do some pretty cool craft projects.

Poor Owen was not feeling good still....

Landon with Own and Mrs. Ferguson. I LOVE her so much. I'll be so sad when he has to leave her to go to first grade.....

Once Owen was better, no more vomiting or diarrhea he started to get really fussy for a few days. Next thing we knew he was coughing. He started to have a low grade fever. I went back to the doctors and he had an ear infection and croup. Oh my word, that poor baby. BUT after about 2 days of antibiotics he was the happiest baby ever. He started sleeping through the night!!!

We also had Greg's office Christmas party. It was on a Friday at 12. We went for a few hours then had to leave to get Landon from school. It was nice to meet some of his coworkers.

I spent the rest of my days getting things ready for Christmas, mailing off packages  taking care of Owen and Landon and keeping up with the house. Exhaustion had set in. As soon as Owen was out at 7, so was I!

I'm ready to get things back to normal. Friday night I slept wrong so my neck was sore yesterday morning. I took some Motrin but it was ok. By 2pm while we were at the Commissary I must have turned wrong because I was in SO MUCH PAIN. I could barely turn my neck, not look down or anything. It was shooting pains to my brain and giving me a headache. It made me dizzy and a few times made me want to vomit. I came home and took some meds, applied ice and a heat pack and tried to rest. By bed time I was so stiff and hurting. It was still painful this morning, but as the day goes on it's getting better. Greg is making fun of the way I turn to look at things. I look pretty silly. I am just ready to feel better!

Christmas Day 2012

So we came down the stairs to see what Santa brought....

(I hate that this pictures is blurry, I did a get a video though)

I wished I would have gotten a picture with the boys sitting in front of the tree. It totally slipped my mind until after we were done. Oh well.

Landon was SO excited and laughed when he saw Zap on his dragon.

He started right away finding presents with his name on them and ripping the paper away.

Owen sat in Greg's lap and watched. He was as happy as can be!

His thing this year is Skylanders.

He was excited that is cousin's got him Skylanders. Thank you Martin, Ava and Andreas. Of course Landon LOVES all of his Skylanders.

Owen liked the paper, and probably ate a tiny piece or two....

He was waiting to find Skylander's Giants. And he finally got it! We realized it was for the Wii, so we had to exchange it the next day. He had been dying to open this big package....

It was his own set of golf clubs from Grandpa Rick and Grandma Alma!

Once Landon was done with his gifts we took him to the garage to see what else was left for him. (It was supposed to be put together, but it was snowing and freezing, plus we couldn't barely move it to get in in the house, so we left it in the garage.)

A trampoline! Yay, mommy and daddy are pretty excited about this one. It's still not put together. It's been COLD outside....hopefully soon. I can't wait to try it out.

Once Landon was done then we started opening our gifts and had Owen open his. It was nice to take our time.

Owen loves his puppy Grammie and Poppa, Thank you!

Thank you Oma and Opa for the play table.

And Landon and Owen BOTH love this stand up ballcano. I got some pictures of them playing with it. It's pretty funny. Thanks Sam, Katie and Martin.

The aftermath!

I made some sticky buns for breakfast once we were done opening all our gifts.

And then of course we spent the morning opening everything and playing with it all. I don't think we got out of our PJ's till after noon!

Greg and I got dinner ready. We made a turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls, gravy and cranberry. We still had so much food from the night before I didn't make the mashed potatoes or pumpkin pie.

It was a great day. The day wouldn't have been complete if some one didn't get hurt or something. So glad it was me. I pour boiling gravy over two of my fingers! YEOUCHHHHHH!!!!

The boys went out in the negative temps and tried to roast marshmallows.....
It was too cold for the marshmallows to even get warm! ha!

Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful gifts. Grammie, Poppa Bob, Grandpa Rick and Grandma Alma, Oma and Opa, Ava, Andrea's and Martin.
