Aquarium

Thursday morning we got up and headed downtown to the Aquarium. We got there about 15 minutes before they opened. There was some people waiting in line and some hovering around. Not too many people, which was good.

It was a tad pricey to get in, but once we got in, it was  worth it. First thing Landon did was touch a shark!

There was so much to look at, but having an excited child means running through it all.....

Owen was content in his stroller, just blowing bubbles and squealing.

They had an area where you could pay and do some mining  Of course we had to stop. So Landon mined for some minerals.

He loved it. It was pretty cool for him to do.

He got 5 minerals, and one of them was a big chunk of 'gold'! So fun. Next was some fossils, and Landon is way in to stuff like that, but he ran right through it, lol.

Owen looks so disgusted, it's funny. Any type of breeze or anything he gets this look on his face. Here we were in the flash flood area, and it was kinda drafty. Pretty cool to see the flash flood. Felt like we were back in Texas!

There was several places to stop and do things. One he got to touch a soft shell crab, starfish and some other things swimming around.

When we were done we stopped in the gift shop and he picked out a penguin, which he is infatuated with penguins now. Then we drove to downtown and met Sabrina for lunch on 16th Street Mall! It was a lot of fun. I love the hustle and bustle of the streets on a week day, all the business people out for lunch, the tourists, so cool. We stopped at a cookie shop, and they had the best most softest amazing cookies ever. Wow!

This is Owen sneezing right before he zonked out, for a three hour nap! (That NEVER happens)

We didn't know Owen was going to sleep that long so we stopped at Ikea, and killed about an hour. I used to love Ikea, not so much any more, it was cool, but nothing special. I also had a terrible headache by now. I dropped the boys off at the hotel and headed to the store for some medicine. When I got back I rested and Greg and Landon went to the pool. We went to the mall, NorthPark mall and decided to grab something to eat there, there was a ton of places to eat in their food court. My head was throbbing by now, we went to a few stores and headed back to the hotel for the night. Luckily I woke up Friday and my headache was gone!

Spring Break

This week is Landon's Spring Break. We wanted to do something, and do something fun. Greg took the whole week off so we were excited. We searched around online looking for places to go and stay. After talking we decided it probably was best to wait on taking a trip up to the mountain's until Owen is older and it's warmer. So, we decided just to head to Denver.

Wednesday Greg had some work to do so when we was done we headed to Denver. It's nice, it's only an hour away. We checked in to our hotel. We stayed in The Tech area, near a nice mall, Ikea and all the tech businesses. It's also just a few exits from Sabrina and not even 10 min to downtown. We stayed at Comfort Suites, it was our first time, but the room was SO nice. It was big, and we really enjoyed it.

After checking in Landon insisted on going swimming.

It was an indoor heated pool, and it was packed! There was a ton of families there. It was kinda nice too.

Owen and I watched them play and swim for a while.

Owen would get excited when someone would splash or he would make eye contact with Greg and Landon. I walked him to the edge and he squealed! So we let him dangle his feet in.

He was so happy. Kicking and squealing. Landon was just swimming around Greg and laughing at Owen.

Next thing I know, Owen is sitting in the water.....

He splashed and kicked and laughed. He LOVED the water. I just hated all the chlorine getting in his eyes, and not sure how it was going to be on his skin.

After swimming and playing everyone got cleaned up and Sabrina met us at our hotel. She took us to an Asian Market where we oohed and ahhed and pointed and remembered all different kinds of things. Then we went and ate at Sam's. It was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

It was a cool place. WE enjoyed having some adult company and talking. The boys were SO good while we were there.

Owen fell asleep on the way home, and Greg and Landon of course went swimming til about 930pm that night. Sabrina and I hung out and chit chatted.

Thursday we got up and had breakfast at the hotel. Now, whenever we go to hotels that have breakfast people are always in their Pj's and looking like they just rolled out of bed. We decided to head to breakfast in our comfy pants. Wellllllll, in this nice tech area there are lots of business people. All the business people in our hotel were having breakfast before they went to work, they were all dressed up, almost suit and tie, and here we were all ghetto in our comfy pants, hahahaha. Greg and I were laughing and so embarrassed.

After getting ready for the day we headed downtown to the Aquarium...........

Messy Face

We are trying all kinds of foods with Owen to get him to eat more. I always saw those little pouches that are on the go, and you squeeze into the child's mouth. I always thought, LAZY. Welll..........

I was at Walmart scouring the baby food shelves for different foods for Owen to try. There are so many different varieties. I decided to try these. I know, they are the squeeze lazy ones. At this point, I was just wanting to try different things to get Owen on to the eating solids thing.

He devoured the one on the left. Yay. So now I was on the search for all those different foods for the boy. We've tried several, and I think he enjoys us squirting them in his mouth rather than coming at him with a spoon. I'm still giving him table food to try, but I just want him to eat!

Yesterday he had banana's with blueberries and beet for breakfast. I think he enjoyed it!

He had spit some out and smeared in around. I had to take some photos. I know you are probably thinking, add cereal and oatmeal to his food to thickin in. Yes, I know. I do that. Remember, I'm just trying all different things.

Here is my big boy eating his cereal. He's been so good with trying different foods and eating like a champ lately. Such a change for him. He was always so picky and wanted to eat the same thing, every. single. night.

But we are getting there. It takes time. Landon wasn't a huge eater at this age either, still really isn't, so I  am not worried.

Those big blue eyes.....

Well, it's time to feed this little man....
