Havin' Fun

Last night Landon and I went to Chuck E' Cheese's for one of his friends birthday. She is in his class at school. She turned two. I wasn't sure how Landon was going to do, if he would be in to it or not. Boy oh boy was I wrong! He loved it with out a doubt. Each child got a cup with tokens. Landon thought that was the best thing in the world.

He did NOT want to share his tokens with Mommy. He didn't even want to spend them. We just circled the place a million times. He stopped at every game and made a comment. I sneaked a token from him and we got a few tickets. I took him to the counter to show him we could get prizes.

Guess what they had? Fishes? Yep, he was in heaven. So now he had to carry around his cup of tokens and three tiny fish. When it was time for pizza, cake and presents, he did NOT want to come. I finally convinced him. He didn't eat a bite. He just watched everyone, including the show from Chuck E' Cheese and played with the fish. (see the tiny fish in his hands? One blue one pink?)

Towards the end I finally got the coins from him and we played a few games and then headed home. He was so excited about it. It sucked because Greg was at work. He seems to always be at work when anything happens. We definitely have to go back. I didn't realize Landon was going to enjoy it that much. When Greg picked him up from school this morning Landon was so talkative about it, telling Greg all about it. He also told Greg, "Mommy took all my quarters!"

For the record I did not take his tokens, I simply snuck his tokens while he was happily playing with his fish, we would have never left otherwise!

You know I how previously blogged about meal planning and not eating out so much? We started 3 weeks ago. We saved almost $300 on groceries and a crazy amount on eating out. (for the month of July)I hope it continues. Actually, It will continue, Greg and I were talking and we are really happy with how it is going. The meal planning and grocery shopping is working out fantastic. We seem to be wasting little to no food. As to before, well, it was pretty bad.

For dinner tonight we made 'Onion Chicken.' I don't know where this recipe came from, I just know Greg's mom made it, and Greg really likes to cook it. It is one of those simple 4 ingredient recipes, and it tastes GREAT!
1 Box Lipton Onion Soup
Heavy Whipping Cream
Chicken tenders (fresh and or defrosted)
Egg Noodles

Place chicken in baking dish, pour cream over chicken covering. Mix/stir in onion soup packets. Bake at 375 40-45 min. In the mean time, cook the noodles and drain. When chicken is cooked all the way, the top will brown a little then we just put some noddles on our plate and put some chicken and sauce on top and eat! Very simple, and really good. The amount of heavy whipping cream all depends on how big of a dish you use, and how much chicken you have. I bought a big thing of it and we only used half of it.

Now that we all have full bellies, it time for dessert! I think we are going to go to Marble Slab and get an ice cream and the walk around Pet Smart or something when we are done, let Landon look at all the animals. Ahh it's the simple things in life.....

Almost 3

I cannot believe that in a little over three months Landon will be three. Where does time go? It makes me sad he is growing so fast, but I also love how he is turning in to a little boy. It's bitter sweet. I've already started looking at birthday stuff. I've been thinking about it lately. Do you ever watch the Challenges on Food Network? We all love to watch it here. They did one with the Pixar cakes. Landon absolutly LOVED the Nemo cake, I would love to have a cake like that for his birthday....Since Daddy was gone on Landon's birthday last year we have to have a super cool birthday party this year right??? I can't wait!

Last night Landon and I were out back, I was watering my flowers like always and Landon was hanging out playing. He was stepping on ants, chasing Luke and playing on his swingset. We were getting ready to go in, I bent down to pick a weed out of our brick patio extension and I saw a pretty big spider web. I stood up, and there was a HUGE black widow. ugh! Freaked me out. I grabbed Landon, the cat and we ran inside. I went back to look at it, it was in a weird awkward spot so I just left it. Go figure, Greg was at work. He is always at work when something happens. He did take care of it today. Now I am creeped out and don't want to go back there. Oh yea, Greg went running this morning on this back road that goes along a golf course and by the airport. He said he was running, and he saw a huge rattlesnake in the road, it was almost the length of the road. He said he just went around it. Crazy man. I would have went screaming and running the other way. I told him that next time he runs there he'd better wear his boots! ha!!

Better

So I think Saturday we all just kinda woke up on the wrong sides of the bed, and we never recovered from that. Sunday was a much better day!!! We did our normal Sunday routine, a trip to Target and then lunch at:

After Target and our delicious lunch we went on to Sam's Club. We needed some water. They seem to have the best deal for the amount of water we drink. We came out with water, a box of fresh cookies and a book for me. Oops, I like walking around Sam's, we always come out with something we don't need. We were close to a Pet/Fish store that we like to go to. So we made a quick stop:
It looks a little scarey from the outsdie, they used to have a huge shark mouth at the top, but they took it down. It is actually pretty nice inside and they had a good fish and salt water aquarium section. Landon LOVES it here. They have a Dorey and Nemo fish. They are in seperate tanks, he runs back and forth to them. When we first pulled up we heard a train coming. I got Landon out as fast as I could, the train was right behind us. Landon was super excited about that. He was looking both ways saying, "All Aboard, ohhh fisheys mommy." He didn't know which way to go!!!

Monday was a typical Monday, good, but I was just tired. Last night I was glued to the TV to watch the Bachelorette finale. Lot's of drama, and of course she didn't pick who I wanted her to pick. She went with Ed, I wanted her to pick Kiptyn. He was a hottie, California surfer boy! whew!!! (sorry Greg!) I get so wrapped up in these shows sometimes, well, most of the time. I love talking about the shows at work with the othe ladies. hehe!
Today I got a call, Landon got bit. Hmph, in the eye! I went to check on him. He sure did, check it out:

Poor baby. He was such a big boy. He wasn't crying at all when I went to check on him. He said, "I put ice on it and it make it better." I kissed it too to make it better. He was standing next to another child and they wanted the same toy, Landon got bit. Such an odd place. The teacher said she thought the other child was kissing Landon. Ha! I wish. It happens, they are two. Landon has bit in the past so I can't get mad. I am glad he handled it so well. I am proud of him.

We've bought Landon some new books the past few times we've gone to Target. He picked out one of those learning to read books. They have the different levels. I got him a level one of Nemo. This weekend he wanted a whale one, it was level three. Which means longer book. He doesn't care, we've read that book a million times, he loves it and will sit through it. It's not terribly long but it has some long paragraphs in it. The boy loves to read! Hopefully next week we can find a level one or two. With the amount of times we read these things, it get's tiring!

Laughter

They say laughter is the best medicine. And when you are having one of those days, there is no better sound then the sound of a childs laugh. Well, for me. It's been one of those days, funny, because last weekend it was one of those good days. Anyways, I love the sound of Landon's laugh, and hearing him laugh, one of those good belly laughs just makes everything better.
Enough of that stuff. This afternoon, because it was 100 degrees out again, I filled up the pool. By the time Landon woke from his slumber his pool was like a bath. I got him ready and said, "Landon, go get your toys you want to play with in the pool." He ran away, I turned around when I heard him coming and this is what I saw:

He had to bring one of each. Funny thing is, he played with all of them. He was in that pool for almost two hours this afternoon. I sat in the sun and read a book, Greg was in and out of the pool BBQ'n ribs and sausage. We bought a new umbrella a few weeks back from Sam's Club, we finally got to use it, so this is our new set up. (tomorrow we need to get a umbrella stand)

Landon kept telling me how much he liked the new umbrella. He pointed and named all the colors!

After swimming it was dinner time. Landon munched on some sausage, beans and watermelon. He LOVES watermelon. It doesn't surprise me, he loves all fruit.
I hope tomorrow is a better day than today, and I hope it's filled with lots and lots of laughter!

For Why?

For Why? That is the question I am asked many times through out my day. By Landon of course, that is his new thing. "Let's go get you dressed for school Landon." "For Why mommy?" When I picked him up today his teacher told me, "every time I ask him to do something or tell him something he says for why Molly?" Oh man.

I worked the afternoon shift today. I was very happy to not have to get up at 5am. Landon was up and at em' at 645. Grr, I was hoping i'd get to sleep a tad bit later than that, but I can't be picky since he slept so great AGAIN! We had to move furniture in the classrooms because the carpets are being cleaned this weekend. I stayed late to help with that. I so didn't feel like cooking so Landon and I drove through McDonalds and got some dinner. Greg and I have have this new thing to not eat out but once a week. Usually on Sunday. It's worked out pretty well so far, we are finishing up week two. We are trying to cut back on the amount of money we spend going out. We are also stoping our stops in the mornings to gas stations to get odds and ends that we really don't need. That has also been going well. Another money saving thing we are doing is making lists and meal plans for the week. Sometimes we go grocery shopping and buy a ton of stuff but we really don't have meals. We would end up spending lots of money, not really having anything and then we would go out to eat. You ever do that? We are also finishing up week two of that. It's been going well. I am proud of ourselves.

Anyways, I am not used to afternoon shifts like I said earlier. After dinner I sat down on the computer for a few. I went back to the living room, grabbed my blanket and sat down with Landon. I looked over at the clock, 8 o'clock already? I haven't even been home that long. I am soooo not used to this. Good thing it was just one day, back to normal on Monday! Today was warm again. We enjoyed a very cool and rainy week. I LOVED it! Tomorrow it is supposed to be warmer, like 100. ick. I guess we need to bust out that pool again. I am ready for Fall already, it's been one hot Summer.....

Castle

So what did Landon do while eating dinner tonight? Make a castle! He is in to building things these days and stacking things. He usually has a yogurt drink with dinner and he likes to pour it himself. I left the little container next to him and he made a castle with it. The Sesame Street cup on top was mine when I was little. It may have been one of my brothers, but I do remember using it. Landon likes it because it has a handle on the side, he calls it his coffee cup!

Landon is becoming too smart for his own good. At times it's frustrating and other times I laugh. Just depends on the situation. The other night in the bath I was washing his face, well he was not ready for me to wash his face yet and he told me, "Not yet mommy." I kinda just kept washing his face, he then blurted out, "mommy, that's unacceptable!" I think I stared at him in shock, such a big word from a little guy. He said it clear as day. I chuckle at it now.....

I hate to blog about this, but whenever I do, I kinda jinx myself. Landon has been sleeping really good this week. I've changed a few things, no juice in the afternoon, just milk or water. Less milk at bedtime and making him go to the bathroom. He's been sleeping good. I hope it is a new thing, not another growth spurt. He is also doing VERY well with potty training. He hasn't really had any accidents this week. Even going #2. He seems to go right after dinner every night. He is growing up right before my eyes! I can't believe in a little over 3 months he will be three.

Other than the little man nothing exciting going on. Just the same old hustle and bustle of life. Greg is trying to get on with Fire Prevention at work. That would be fantastic. He would have a normal 730-430 shift, holidays off. Ahhhhhh, that would be nice. Hopefully we will find out soon. It would be nice to have a normal life for a little while. None of these crazy hours.
Big Brother is about to come on. Are you watching it? What do you think? It's been crazy, I don't like some of the people already, they are going nuts already. Didn't take long this time!

Ever have one of those days? Not one of those days, but a day where everyone seems to be really nice? Super friendly? I've had one of those mornings. Landon and I went shopping at H.E.B this morning, it was fairly early. Everyone seemed to smile and say hi. Lots of people stopped and talked to Landon. Landon was in a great mood. He sipped on his juice, played with his whale and asked lots of questions. We had to stop at the fresh tortilla station and get him one to sample. Then we made way to the live lobsters. When we got to the fruit snacks aisle I asked Landon which ones he wanted. He kept saying, "those" and would point. I couldn't figure out which one's were "those." So I got him out of the cart and let him pick a box out. He walked up and down the shelf where they were sitting. He bent down to look at a few boxes. He then picked up the Batman box and said, "THOSE!" Our trip was pleasant, lots of smiley faces. The checker was very nice. Sometimes you get those teenagers that don't say a word and don't even look at you. Landon sat quietly in the cart with his whale. Probably about 3 people walking by stopped over to talk to Landon! So funny, Landon was all about it. Sometimes he plays shy and innocent, not today, just talked their ears off.

We are making our way out to the parking lot. The cart was heavy, and when you come out of the store the sidewalk slants. I have to use my entire body to control the cart. There was a bag next to Landon, and he moved it. Then he said, "oh no mommy look!" I turned around and our poor cucumber, WHICH WAS HUGE by the way, was laying on the sidewalk. Fudge, we just crossed the street. So I turned that heavy cart around a nice lady with some kids in her car pointed at the lonesome HUGE cucumber on the ground. I laughed and was on my way back to get it. Next thing I know her son jumps out of the car and grabs my cucumber and hands it to me. Awe, it was so sweet! "Thank you so much!!!!!" Landon repeated it too, "tank yoooou!" It was one of those days, everyone was very friendly. I like those kinds of days.

I am making enchilada's and taking them to the fire station for dinner tonight. We haven't been for a while and Landon is excited to go. We were talking about it while shopping. I just can't decide if I want to make chicken enchiladas or beef. What do ya think??

It's Friday!

I love Friday nights. I like knowing that I have the next two days off, to do what ever I please. I don't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn, and I can lounge in my pj's if I want to. I try to get most of my housework done on Friday nights, that way I don't have to worry about getting it done all weekend. Today went by pretty fast. And guess what? It wasn't 100 degrees! Mid 90's. I walked outside to run to the store and when I walked outside it felt different. I got to the car and I was like wow, it's nice out. I can breathe!!!! I got in the car and the temp still said 100. It wasn't that hot, but man, it sure was nice to be a little cooler. I've been trying to make it a point to get outside in the evenings to play, get some fresh air. Usually Landon plays on his swingset and I water my flowers and the yard. Landon was helping me turn the water on, and I decided to set the sprinkler. I got the hose ready, twisted the sprinkler head on, set it on the grass, and BAM, water in my face. That little turd turned the water on! Clever little boy, daddy wasn't even here to tell him. He laughed and laughed and thought it was the funniest thing ever. I even had to laugh. Water dripping from my hair and nose.

A few weeks ago, I got a notice for Jury Duty! Greg laughed and laughed. I have to admit, I was a little nervous. I haven't had it before. I always remember my dad getting it, and Cindy. Now it is my turn, eek! You are supposed to call between 5pm Friday and 8am Monday. So I called tonight, and they don't need me. Hmph, a little bummed, I wanted to see what it was all about. But I'm sure i'll get the chance again. Next time I hope Greg gets it, so I can laugh at him.
When we were in Austin this past weekend Landon was playing out in the pool. I can't remember exactly what happened but Oma made Landon mad. He told her, with a pointing finger, "go home oma!" Oma proceeded to tell Landon, "I am home, this is my house." and Landon came back with, "Noooo, that not yurrr house, dats mommies house, you go yurr house oma!" It was really funny, he was serious, Oma and I couldn't keep a straight face. I don't know where he came up with that.

Greg told me he didn't want me bloggin the stories because he doesn't want you to think he is this mean terrible little kid. He's not. He's two, and he is funny. Landon is very sweet, very cuddley and lovey dovey. He is very smart. Anytime you say something to Landon like, "You're kinda grouchy today." He will come back with, "No i'm not, I'm Landon Cooper Teague!" Ok Landon is calling, he is ready to cuddle before bed. Happy Friday and hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!!

Blazin

I can't believe it's been so long since I've blogged. I'm not really sure where to start, alls I know is it is BLAZIN HOT here in Texas. I think we are on day 17, or something like that, of 100 degree + temps. Yea, I know, VERY hot. I guess you kinda sorta get used to it. But it's still hot, and you don't want to do anything outside, unless it involves a pool!

Greg's decided to start training to do triathlons. His dad and brother Alex do them, and when Greg went to Lubbock to watch, I guess you can say he got 'inspired.' Sooooo, Greg is now training. Swimming, biking and running. I'm happy for him, it takes a lot of time and money. We will see how it goes. Kenny and Alex had lots of stuff to give Greg, including a bike, so we had to go to Austin to pick it all up. So early Saturday morning after Greg got off work we packed the car and skipped town. There are a few ways we can take to get there. One way we like is going through Fredricksburg. Cute little German town, lots of shopping and eating. It's also know for peaches. We of course had to stop at a peach stand along the highway.

We actually picked a really good farm to get peaches at. They had everything you could imagine to buy, all fresh. We got some fresh grape tomato's and that bag of peaches. Those were the most delectable peaches EVER! Juicy and sweet. Stupid me, I left them in the bag when we got home, by Monday most of them were rotten. There weren't too many left, we'd eaten most of them. Too good to pass up. Once we got to Kenny and Tina's we just visited and relaxed. Landon of course enjoyed Ava. They played and laughed and had a blast. Landon complained of his tummy hurting on Saturday. He never once got sick or had any diarrhea. He also had a low grade fever, nothing Motrin couldn't help.

We filled the pool up and by time they got in it, because it was 104 out, the water was like bath water. They played forever, stopping for, yes you guessed it, an ice cream break! haha

After swimming and Popsicles we came in and they had a feast of fruit.

Sunday morning we woke up and I wasn't feeling well. Stomach cramps and nauseous. Not cool. We headed to Austin to watch Kenny and Alex compete in their triathlon. It was already hot, and only 900am. They did do pretty good, it was a couples tri and combining their scores they placed 2nd in the relatives bracket. (I just totally butchered that, I don't know what I am talking about, I do know they got 2nd place!) Good Job Guys!!!!

(Kenny and Alex on the right)

We had to come home and rest, I needed to shake off that bug I was getting. We eventually left for home sometime that evening. Back to work Monday, feeling much better. Just tired. This week has been busy. Crazy. As always Landon keeps us busy. House work keeps me busy. And there is always my shows I like to watch. Big Brother, I am Soooo happy it's on. Not sure I like how it's been going, but I am all in to the drama. Also the Bachelorette. I hope she picks Kyptin. (sp?) I like him better than that other guy. But, they don't listen to me, and they never do what I yell at the TV for them to do. Can't wait to see the finale. I guess what I am trying to say is at night I am glued to the TV, by the time my shows are over, I am ready for bed.

Yesterday when I got off work we went to the pool. Landon has NO fears of the pool now. He is trying to be a little too brave. I am glad he is over being scared of water, it's just the shower now! We only swam for about an hour, then came home. I've started back to the gym this week. I've been going on my lunch hour again. I was doing so good when I had that routine. It's been going well this time around too. I really need to loose some weight.

Happy Birthday to Martin. I can't believe he is two already! Also Happy Belated Birthday to Caitlyn. I really wish Landon and I could have come to your party. Can't wait to see the pictures, and one of these days I will get to meet you. I hope sooner than later. I wish we lived closer!

Landon is sleeping, the house is nice and quiet and dark, I am so ready to lay in bed. It isn't even 9 yet, or dark out. But I am tired. It's taken me all evening to write this post. And everything I wanted to blog about, all the little stories I had and wanted to tell have slipped my mind right now. I'd better go get some rest, Goodnight.

Still alive!

Yes we are still here and still alive, I can't believe I haven't posted in over a week. I have some pictures to download and then I will blog. We've been trying to stay cool in this HOT HOT Texas heat and just keeping busy. I promise I'll post with some pictures tomorrow and I have a few funny Landon stories to share!

Back in the swing of things

My alarm went off at 5:00 am this morning. Already? You gotta be kiddin me, already? I can't believe my two weeks off is over already. Not to mention last night Landon did not sleep well. If he wasn't waking up I was looking at the clock. Don't you hate that? Half way to work I felt like I was going to be sick, I was dreading going back. I don't know why. Once I got there, I was fine. It was nice to see the kiddos again. Landon was VERY happy to be at school. His best little friend was there bright and early with us, they were bouncing off the walls together, Landon was so happy to see her. Yes I said her, he is glued to this little blonde girl in his class, and she is glued to him. It's pretty cute I have to say.
Work actually flew by, when I got home Greg had these waiting for me:

Some very pretty flowers. He got them because he said he knew it was hard for me to go back to work and he wanted to cheer me up. So sweet, I love him! Thanks Greg! They definetly put a big smile on my face. Shortly after I got home I had to leave for a dental appt. I LOVE getting my teeth cleaned. I know, I know, I am weird. I guess being a dental assiatant a few years back did that to me. I walked in the office and the smell, ahhh, I love it. Smells so good to me and brings back so many memories of when I worked with the Adairs. I really miss them and assisting so much. I really need to get back in to it, that means becoming certified first. Something to work for I think....

A few quick stories. Last Friday Greg was out mowing the yard. I went through the garage to take some trash out. In the mean time I stopped and talked to Greg for a min, I went to go back inside and the door was locked! OH NO! Landon was inside. It was like 930 in the morning. I was in running shorts and a t-shirt with no bra. Crap? Greg jumped the fence, it was locked, go figure, and went to the back door. Landon was sitting on the floor playing with his animals. Greg told Landon, "Open the door for daddy." "No, I playing dadddy." "Landon, COME OPEN THE DOOR FOR DADDY!" Landon ran to the door, and thank God, the dead bolt wasn't locked and he was able to get it open. I almost had a heart attack.

THEN, Sunday night I told Greg we needed to get our cat in. It was 1000pm. No cat in sight. Landon and I are walking up and down the street calling "Luke, luke" nothing. Where did he go? Greg went driving around. I was hanging over the back fence calling Luke. There is one house behind us and the rest is open field I finally saw him way far away with the flash light. Greg had to jump the fence and go after him. Dang cat. He is NOT aloud outside anymore, at least when it's dark.
Now I hope this post isn't one lonnnnggggg paragraph, I thought I had that fixed....

It's raining....It's pouring....

You guessed it, it's raining here! It is wonderful, makes for a perfect relaxing lazy day. Did everyone have a good 4th? Ours was nice, it was hot, so we of course played outside in the pool. Greg BBQ some T-bone steaks, I made kidney beans and corn bread. When we were outside we could hear fireworks and smell charcol burning. Ah, I love the smell and sounds of the 4th of July.

It looks really funny, that big floatie in that tiny pool. Landon just floated around in that thing for a while, he enjoyed it. When I turned the water on earlier in the day I accidentally forgot about it, so I put a little toooo much water in, let's just say the grass all around got a good soaking, not to mention when we dumped the pool out when we were done. We turned the TV to the news a few min before we left for the show because it was getting dark out. OF course there was a big storm headed this direction and expected to arrive at 930. We didn't let it stop us, we just packed umbrella's on top of a cooler with goodies, blankets and chairs. This is what the sky looked like, and it was headed towards us. (there were LOTS and LOTS of people waiting for the fireworks, didn't make us feel too bad.)

We munched on popcorn and hung out. It got pretty windy at one point and then it started sprinkling so we sat in the back of the car. Landon thought that was pretty cool. He makes us laugh all the time. People waiting were popping fireworks off, Landon was super excited and squealing when they would go off. He was so excited to see the "Flower works."

It was dark, we were patiently waiting for the fireworks, they were going off all around us, Landon was getting more and more anxious for them to start. He kept asking us where they were. Then he told us he had to go potty. Uh-oh. Needless to say, I am SO thankful Landon is a boy. Cover your eyes....

Next thing we know people are leaving, the traffic is crazy. People were driving by looking at us, and then a guy told us the fireworks were cancelled. Then the guy next to us said yeah he just called his wife and she saw on the TV they cancelled them. WHAT? Awe, we were so sad. Landon was NOT ready to leave, he did NOT want to go home. Good thing we live close to where we were, the traffic was pretty crazy. Turns out the fire marshall cancelled them because the winds shifted due to the storm. How disappointing, oh well, we are very happy we watched them the night before.

We slept in today, one from staying up late to watch fireworks two nights in a row, and two, it was raining, and ahhh it's so nice to sleep when it's raining. It's been raining all day, a good steady rain. We need it very badly. It's nice to have one of those dark rainy days. We don't get them often. Landon's been playing and drawing a lot today. He is interested in it again. I got him a shark spiral notebook at Target and a pencil box and filled with his crayons and markers and he's been going to town. We also went to Sam's this morning to get water. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their books they have there. We always get Landon the neatest books. Today we got him an ocean pop up book. We've read that a million times today as well!!

This is the little area where Landon likes to play. You can see it is off the living room, I was laying in my bedroom right by the door when I took this picture. Yes that is whale rug, he likes to sit on it when he plays. I got that at yes, you guessed it, Target, in the dollar section!
Tomorrow is my last day and then I go back to work. I am ready, I suppose, to a certain point, but I really have enjoyed my time off. Just hanging out at home as a family. We needed that. I think Landon misses his friends, he's been asking about them a lot the past few days. Ok, I am going to go curl up on the couch and watch Food Network. Man my mouth waters when I watch this show, does yours??? man, makes me hungry too.....

Happy 4th of July

*Happy 4th of July*
I hope everyone is having a wondeful 4th of July weekend. Ours has been pretty low key, which is very nice, but sometimes I wish we were doing something. We've just been hanging out as a family and doing things around the house. Mainly hanging out by or in the pool, shopping and playing. This is Landon's favorite place to play. There are two baskets, one filled with animals and one with cars and trucks. He sill sit there and play forever. It is right by our bedroom door and he'll sit in that nook and just talk and make a mess. Dont mind Landon, I bothered him to take a picture, and he is just in his undies, he likes to run around with a shirt and undies on. Too hot for clothes!
Yesterday after BBQ'n fajita's, which were the bomb Greg, and eating my home made blackberry cobbler, which was pretty good I have to say, pat on the back to me, and thanks Paula Deen, we went to watch fireworks.

The city of Tye is right behind Dyess AFB. They do a firework show on the 3rd. We decided to go since we didn't have much else going on. There was supposed to be a park with concessions, games and all that stuff, but when we pulled up it was packed along the street, people hanging out to watch the fireworks. Hmm, we turned around and found a pretty good spot to park. We laid the blanket down and hung out with everyone else. Landon thought it was super cool to do that. He was all sorts of happy.

We just hung out, watched people, took silly pictures and watched people play with sparklers till it got dark and the fireworks started.

When they started Landon was terrified, he said it was too loud and I told him it was ok to put his hands over his ears. I kept talking to him, pointing. He was still scared. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw a dog, or what I thought was a dog, a funny looking dog at that. Then the people beside us said, "That was a skunk that ran by, be careful." "Skunk?" What?????? Oh my, that's all we need to is to get sprayed by a skunk. I walked around our car, nothing, it was gone. Fireworks must have scared it away. Whew!

He sat for a while with his hands over his ears, the little girl next to us was giggling and having fun, I think he saw that. He slowly moved his hands down and he LOVED it! He said it sounded like popcorn. And then he was pointing to the fireworks saying, "Sponge Bob," "Wow Wow Wubzzy." It was very cute! He really started like them.

The traffic, as you can imagine was a pain to get out of. Landon fell asleep after 5 min, we didn't get home till 1120. Tonight we are going to watch fireworks again. They are having a show by the zoo right here by us! I think this time we are packing an ice chest, bringing chairs and snacks and going to have fun. Oh yea, I need some Off too. Dang bugs. I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th. Time to eat popsicles by the pool!! Yippeee
