Chauffeur?

Chauffeur? Does anyone need a driver or a chauffeur? If so I do have some one wonderful in mind. He is very cute, he can't quite see over the steering wheel or reach the peddals, but he would be a great help if you needed him!

We had a list of things to get done tonight. One of them was for me to clean out my car. Now is it just me or do young children destroy cars? It's probably me. But there are footprints all over the door, a smashed yogurt raisin on the door and window seal, straw wrappers all around, dried milk splashes everywhere I look. I just don't understand. I do have a mess in my area too. I eat in the car every morning...so maybe he get's it from me. Any way, we got the car cleaned out, our suitcases packed, the house cleaned and the cat all squared away. I was supposed to mow tonight, but I opted not to, I wanted to watch Big Brother tonight. I won't spoil it for those of you who are behind, but it was GOOD!!!!! I'll just have to deal with the jungle when we get back!!

Wayyy back

Wayyyyy back in May of 2008 I had a one and half year old, pacifier sucking, overall wearing, red cheeked baby boy:
Awe! Seeing this picture just melts my heart. I sat on the computer for a while today looking through all the old pictures. I miss Landon when he was at this age. It seems so long ago.

I also didn't like seeing myself in a lot of those pictures. Ew, what a fatty! Why on Earth wasn't I hitting the gym? ha ha. I do know that if we do have another baby I will try my hardest not to gain too much weight, and I will defienetly be hitting the gym hard after wards!!!

This is what...

This is what it looks like when Landon finally falls asleep at nap time on the weekends. (so peaceful looking)

This is what the past two afternoons have looked like at our house:
Lots of rain.

This is what it looks like when Landon walks outside to check it out.

This is what it looks like when Landon decides to get his feet wet.

This is what it looks like when I tell Landon to blow me a bubble with his gum.

This is what Landon's little feet look like splashing in the water.

And this is what the gum looks like that Landon is obsessed with.

He asks for gum constantly. As soon as I pick him up from school. As soon as he is finished with dinner, or lunch or breakfast. Pretty much he has to have a piece of gum in his mouth at all times. Except at school of course, which he hates that he can't have it by the way.

As you saw from the pictures it is raining again this afternoon. Yay! I love the rain. I love that it cools the air off, I love the smell of rain. I love the sound of rain, I love that it gets dark outside, I love to light candles when it's raining, I love to get in my comfy pants when it's raining. I love to listen to the thunder and to see the lightening. I love to know that I don't have to water the grass and my flowers tonight. So, yes I love the rain. I just hope it stops by Friday and Saturday....

Guess where we're going?

Guess where Landon and I are going this weekend with Oma and Opa?
SEA WORLD!!!
I can't believe it's already been year since we went. Landon and I were looking through the pictures and it was SO hot last time, I am sure it will be this time too, and Landon looked so little. We are excited to feed the dolphins' again, and this time I'm wearing my bathing suit so I can get wet, and cool off!!!! The only downside is Greg won't be with us. We will make sure we take lots of pictures for Daddy, and when daddy gets home we can go again.

We are having a gloomy Monday afternoon. It was hot and muggy this morning, and then the sky got dark and it started thundering and lightening, now it's raining. The power went out briefly, scared both of us, the bang of the lightening, it was loud! I've got my comfy sweats on and am enjoying lounging and relaxing.

I am sorta feeling like I may get sick. My ears have been bothering me, and my throat is a little sore. I am hoping it's just allergies. That is one thing I don't like about West Texas, the allergies! I am going to make sure I drink lots of water and get to bed early tonight. I already finished my new book, so I won't be up late reading tonight! ha ha.

One last note, I went to the gym since I got off at my normal time and I weighed myself. I've lost 10lbs!! Yippee, go me! I hope I can loose ten more :)

Don't be jealous!

OK, so I am warning you, if you are the jealous type you probably won't want to read this. First off, don't be jealous of my handsome little man's blue mouth.
Or his singing blue mouth.
If you want a blue mouth, go get a blue raspberry Ring Pop! Landon loved his so much he was singing and dancing, or that could have just been the sugar, who knows!

I love a lazy Sunday morning. I wouldn't consider cleaning my house a lazy morning, but to me that's what I like. Cleaning house, stopping to chat with Greg on Skype, eating breakfast, cleaning some more and finally taking a shower at like 1030..that's what I like. Not really having much going on. We made quick trip to Target to get some Q-tips, since I threw the last of mine out back, Windex, anti frizz hair stuff and sponges. I bought just that, and spent only $9. I promised the little blue mouthed singing sensation MC Donald's. We then decided to have a photo shoot and try our hardest to get a good picture to send to daddy. This was the first attempt:
Wayyy off.

This was the second attempt:
Still off, come one Priscilla, point and shoot.

This is the third attempt:
A little better, except my head looks huge, and check out that frizz! That is why we had to go to Target, I am out of my frizz control! So those are the pictures Greg, I tried to get a good one, it's just not happening!

I decided to show you all my TV situation in our master bedroom. Now, again, please please please, don't be jealous.
What do you think? Pretty creative and cool right? I just wait for the day to run into it half asleep and knock that TV over. But hey, the TV works, I can't complain. But do you see why I would like a nice new flat screen TV to mount on the wall right there??

I came back around the corner and forgot that MC Donald's now does a 2n1 Happy Meal. It's box for your food and a hat!!
Isn't he creative? He did that a lonnnnng time ago...

Now again, try not to be jealous, this is my computer situation.
It's not bad, but it feels to me like a kids room computer area or something you would see in a college dorm room. See the printer on the floor? All the cords on the floor and everything smushed on top. Yes, I need a grown-up computer desk/area.....

I hope you all aren't too terribly jealous of me today! ha ha. You know I'm just teasing!

Ohhh wee, Landon fought me to take a nap today. He didn't go to sleep till about 2. We had my coworker Sandy come pick up our old table for her son in college, Landon insisted on staying awake till she came. Which was fine. She was gone by 130, and for the next thirty minutes I had to listen to him "HUMPH" and kick the walls, and mumble mean things that I couldn't quite make out, and "I'm MAD!" Throw all his pillows off the bed before finally giving up the fight and falling asleep! What a turd!

I got his pool filled up for when he wakes up, I want to sit in the sun and try to get some more color. Plus he loves to be out and playing in the water. He needs to burn some of that energy! I am going to go and enjoy my quiet house... ta ta for now!

Is it just me?

Ahhh, what a great day Landon and I had. It started off great because I woke up before Landon, and I had to wake him up. (That rarely happens) Then we got to chat with Greg via Skype for a while. It's been a busy week so we hadn't talked on the phone, Skype, or anything for that matter. I got all my major work for the weekend done, so it was nice knowing that Landon and I had all day to do what ever we wanted!

We went to Sam's, for water. I got a magazine with recipes, big surprise huh? I also bought another Nicholas Sparks book called, The Lucky One. Then we went to Children's Place. Holy moly, they were having an amazing sale! I got 6 shirts and a pair of shorts for $21.00! Shopping made Landon and myself hungry so we went to Jason's Deli. I got a sandwich, he had the cheese pizza, our normal routine. Landon is so much like me it's CRAZY! We stopped at Walmart then headed home for a nap. I read some of my book, and snoozed for a little bit. When Landon woke up he was asking to leave, so we went to the mall! It was nice to walk around and be out. I think Landon enjoyed it too. He got another Scooby Doo book, and got to ride the carousel. I bought a shirt at American Eagle for $5 and I got some lotion at Bath and Body Works for $3. I'm telling you, everywhere was having really really good sales!!!!! This evening we were out front for close to 2 hours. We watered, chased bugs, went for a walk, rode his scooter, ate popsicles and vacuumed the garage. It was really nice.....

So on to the Is It Just Me? title. Sometimes I do stuff and I wonder if I am the only one that does stuff like that. I make lists and mental notes in my head all the time. Is it just me or when you lock your car doors do you hit the lock button like 2 to 3 times to make sure it's locked? Is it just me or when you are really tired and so looking forward to bed and when you get in bed you tell yourself to only read a chapter and then to turn the lights out and you end up reading like 5 chapters and staying up wayyyyy to late and are dragging butt in the morning? I have a bunch of other odd or weird things I do, but I don't want to embarrass myself.

Speaking of the lists in my head. I have a list of things I want. Things I don't necessairly need, but more like my wish list. I want a flat screen TV mounted in our bed room. See, we have a really old boxy TV with a built in VCR in it. It is sitting on top of a moving box! Yes, that's how we roll. Every time we show someone the house I have to make sure to tell them not to be jealous of our amazing TV set up in the master bedroom! Ha!

Granite counters. I really really really want granite counters in the kitchen. I know it would make it look so nice in there. I would like to get a nice big sink and nice faucets to go with it. I also want to change all of our faucets and towel bars and all that to a different finish. Right now we have the basic silver, I want that nice brown rustic looking stuff. I also want to change out the light fixtures in our bathrooms and put in a small bathroom fan in our master bathroom. I think that would be awesome!

I also want my own Laptop. Or a new computer and an actual computer desk. We have this small white desk in here, the pritner is on the floor and there isn't room for anything! I know if we ever have another baby this will be the baby's room, but we could always move it to our room and still have plenty of space in there.

Anyways, those are some things I've really been thinking about lately. Now if we can keep everything in order and not have to replace anything else, we might be able to check some of those things off! Wouldn't that be awesome????

I do like dips!

I am a chip and dip kinda gal. I love chips and different dips. I've always been the munchy type of person. That's why my hips got so big! Any way, I tried a recipe that I got out of one of Heike's books tonight. It's called

Black Bean Stack

It looks similar to my 7 layer dip. But it is probably A LOT healthier.

Black Bean Stack

1 15 oz can of black beans rinsed and drained
1/2 cup of salsa
3 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp canola oil
1 tbsp cilantro
1 clove of garlic
1/2 tsp cumin
1 container of fat free sour cream
1 medium avocado diced
1 medium tomato diced
1 can sliced olives, drained
1 tbsp lime juice.

1) Combine beans, salsa, lime juice, oil, cilantro, garlic and cumin in a blender or food processor.
2)Place in 9in pan. Layer with the remaining ingredients.

I had to wait for the sour cream to warm up a tad, it was hard to spread over the bean mixture. If you like cilantro, I would add more, and you can even add cheese to it, I am sure that would be great. I did sprinkle some diced green chili's out of a can on there. MM MM it was really good. I used the Tostitos Black Corn Tortilla chips.

I only ate a tiny bit and it filled me up. I have a ton left so now I have meals for the next few days!!

Landon had a good old bowl of cereal for dinner. He's been really weird with his eating. Things he normally loves he won't touch. It's driving me banana's.

He is showing you his "L" for Landon.
I am trying to teach him how to spell his name. I also need to work on letter and number recognition. He has no interest what so ever on doing that stuff. I guess it's time to buckle down. I've got flash cards and some Leap Frog Books and games for him. He'll occasionally pick them up, I need to probably make him now!!!

Off to mow my yard. I want to get it done so I don't have to worry about it this weekend. I got my grocery shopping done today as well! I want a nice relaxing weekend of fun with my lil' man!

I dislike bugs.

I dislike bugs. Or insects. Any kind of creepy crawly flying thing. Last night I was in bed, reading my book that I can not for the life of me put down at night. All of a sudden, I hear a weird buzz and see this HUGE thing flying, it's a dang wasp or hornet or mud dauber, whatever, it scared the crap out of me! I jump out of my bed as fast as I can and run for something to squish it with. I found my broom and went on a search. I couldn't find it. I had on every light in the house, and was hitting the blinds and curtains on all the windows trying to find this sucker. I turned the air down low to make it cooler in the house. Nothing. I finally crawled back in bed, but left the bathroom light on and the lamp on in the living room. I had a hard time sleeping, I kept imagining this thing flying over me while I was sleeping. What if it stung me? I've never had an issue with bees or anything of that sort, but what if I got stung and I had a reaction. Yes I laid in bed for a while flat on my back staring at the ceiling waiting for this thing to come out. I finally dozed off.

As I got ready this morning there was no sign of this flying thing. Maybe it died. Maybe when I screamed I killed it! ha! So when we got home this evening I was on a mission to see if I could find it. Still nothing. I was on the way to my closet to grab a load of laundry and there it was, sitting on my sink. So I take my swiffer and smash it. I waited a few seconds. Then moved it, and that darn thing went flying around! WTH? I stood back watching where it went, and it went down into my Q-tips. I have them sitting in a little cup on the sink. Now what? So I take my swiffer and put it over the top of this cup. I want to take it outside. I couldn't get the back door open, so when I did I threw everything out the door and slammed the door. My cup and Q-tips went flying everywhere, and my swiffer landed in the grass. I am sure that flying thing went flying away laughing at me. It's official, I am SICK of bugs....spiders....you name it. I am done with them!!!!!!

This week has flown by. Working all day has made this week quick. It's also made me tired and not wanting to do my housework. I got a lot of cleaning done this evening. I want to get as much of it done before the weekend comes so I am not cleaning all weekend long. Know what I mean?

Tomorrow is splash day for Landon. I kept repeating myself today I guess. I said, "Hey Landon, tomorrow is splash day at school." and he says to me. "I know mom, you tells me that too many times already." I had to laugh. We also found a walking stick on his jungle gym out back and I showed him. He said, "why does the stick have legs? He can walk? Why?" It was moving around and he just watched it with his nose kinda wrinkled. I guess I could be kinda confused as to why a stick was walking and moving. How odd.

I sent off another package to Gregor today. Gotta love those flat rate boxes! I do hate filling out those custom forms though, they take forever.....But it's worth it and I would fill out 10 of those custom forms if it meant sending Greg a package and making him happy!!!!!!! Love you Greg :)

Swinging around

Here are some pictures of my little monkey in his undies and farmers tan swinging out back tonight.
And when you are done swinging out back you have to take a nice warm bath....
To get all that dirt off of course....

Holy Batman

Holy Batman, guess who got a hair cut today?

Yes my handsome, boy Landon did! He was cheesin' so hard his eyes were closed. He's still cute to me though.

My cheesin' boy has been super lovey, cuddly and smoochy lately. I don't mind one bit. Every chance he gets he is telling me, "ah, I love you mommy." It just melts my heart. One of the teachers told me a funny/cute story today. She went to his class for a minute and he gave her a leaf he picked from the tree on the playground. He told her,

"Here you go Miss Sandy."

"Awe, Thank-you Landon, that was so nice of you."

"I have Scooby Doo at my house."

"I LOVE Scooby Doo Landon!"

"Do you want to come over and watch it with me? I live by you, my mom can give you directions!"

I asked her if he really said that, and she said YES! It was so sweet. I didn't know he knew how to give directions, or that he knew what directions to our house meant. Greg's noticed how well he is talking, I guess just hearing it every day I don't realize it. Sometimes he gets to talking and his hands go flying in the air or they end up on his hips. It's very entertaining. If he is mad, or in trouble, sometimes I really really have to bite my lip to try not to smile or laugh.

I feel as though I have zero energy this week. I think the long hours are wearing me out! I'm not used to 8 hour work days. Only 3 more days to go, tomorrow is already hump day, Yeay!

Cookies

OK, so I am a sucker for sweets. Who isn't? I am not big on eating tons of sweets, but some nights I crave something sweet. I've gone through lots of cook books and decided to try a cookie recipe that I found.
Aren't they cute? Yes they are cooked. And they were delish! Landon LOVED them too, he would have devoured them all if I would have let him.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup 67% Vegetable Oil Butter flavored spread
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup mini chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350, line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Mix flour, salt and baking powder in bowl.
3. Beat butter and sugar well, add egg and vanilla. Add flour till well combined and stir in chocolate chips.
4. Drop 2 tsp balls of dough on paper, bake 12 mins. Enjoy.

They were very simple to make, took me less than 5 minutes to mix, they baked really fast and they tasted GREAT! I was able to eat 2 cookies, and my numbers were normal after. I was so happy.

Today was a pretty decent day. It was nice to not have to get up at the butt crack of dawn, and we got ready, but didn't have to rush. The day went by pretty fast, which is always a good thing. Landon was a tad moody this afternoon, sometimes his attitude or fits are over the weirdest things. I also have to remember he is 3 1/2....

One last thing. Remember how I told you about the fireworks, guess who decided to do them again last night, or I should say this morning? yes, my darn neighbors. This time it was at 300am. WTH? Maybe they are trying to pay me back for mowing in the mornings? Who knows. Maybe they are just trying to have fun, but don't do it so late....

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Another great day!

I was awaken at 145am by what to me sounded like a gun shot. Scared me. My heart was pounding. Then it sounded like something hit or landed on my roof. I layed there for a second and next thing I knew I heard Landon yelling, "Mommy. I'm awake!" It was 715am. I slept like a log. I guess I didn't care what I heard, or what was going on, I was tired! I'd forgotten about it, till when I was opening my curtain to my patio door and saw a firework thing in my backyard! Ohhh yeah! That is probably what I heard, and then it hit my roof. Hmph! I continued to do my morning rounds. Filled the cats food and water up, grabbed my allergy pill, guzzled some water down, filled Landon's milk cup up, add strawberry powder to it, returned to the living room to hand my child his milk, then on to turn the computer on and open the front curtains and blinds. As I was twisting the blinds open I saw the person's mail box across from us. It was ran into, and was practically laying in the grass. What the heck? There were extra cars in the drive way next to us. They must have been having a good old time. It verified that I must have been sleeping like a log to not hear anything but that bang, and thud on my roof!

We had a nice chat with Greg on Skype this morning. Landon was angry at first, and then was very pleased to see Daddy. He told Greg he wanted him to come out of the computer now and he missed him. Soon Landon, soon. I wish he understood a little better. Poor thing.

We ran some errands this morning. Dropped stuff off at the Salvation Army, then went to Walmart and Target. We had some lunch and naps, our usual routine. Then we filled the pool up and spent some time outside. It is pretty hot today. Probably 100, or close to it. I know with the heat index it's definitely 100.

The wasps are bad. I think I do need to call someone to come spray. They were every where and coming at us. It's no fun to go outside to releax and play and have to swat those ugly things away.
Landon was "Jumping under the water" a lot. He insisted I take pictures of him.

I love taking pictures of him. He tends to kinda look at the camera now! It's about time. I sat in the pool with Landon for a while, I lathered up with sun tan oil and smelled like coconut while I read a book and sipped on some ice water.
Landon dipped his head in the water, and played with his "macaroni" as he called it. (The noodle.)
I've come to realize some things lately. I feel a lot better and happier now that I've kinda got his health stuff under control. When I am happy, so is Landon. He's been great this weekend! Landon is now obssessed with gum! Not kids bubble gum kinda gum, you know the kind that loses it's flavor after 5 minutes and gives you a headache. He likes my gum. He has to have a piece in his mouth at all times now! He is just like his momma! Landon also loves Scooby Doo! He really likes it. It's kinda spooky, has pretty girls in it, has a silly dog and he really enjoys it. It's funny because it's an old cartoon that I used to watch. It also kinda sucks because he always seems to like things that aren't "cool" at the moment. So we of course can't find anything Scooby Doo related, except books, DVD's and lunch boxes. Oh can't forget Scooby Snacks. Oh well!

I hope this happy streak continues, Friday was terrible at work, I work 8-5 all tihs week, I sure hope the days goes by quick and smooth. Happy Sunday Ya'll!

Happiness

My heart is happy today. After the mess of my Air conditioner, and getting to bed late I woke up feeling good! Yes my air did get fixed. The guy got to my house about 1030pm. He went out back to check it out. He said it looked sappy, and continued to try to figure it out. He was in and out, then said he got it working again, I could feel the cool air! Ahhhhh. He told me the name of the part he had to replace. I can not for the life of me remember what it was called. But it was a round silver thing. He said the one in our unit over heated and pretty much popped. He said he'd never seen that happen in the 15 years he'd been doing this. He was able to replace it and get it going. There was a mistake when I first called, they didn't put me in the computer. So instead of charging me $99 to just come, they charged only $74. The part cost $200 so it was close to $300 when it was all said and done. I happily paid, I would have paid anything to get that thing fixed. There is no way we could go in this 100 plus degree weather with no air. So thank-you Quality Heating and Cooling, you saved me!!!

I went to work on the yards this morning. I weed whacked the heck out of the back yard. My poor hands were hurting when I was done. I then mowed the front and back. It was hot! It was already over 90 outside. I was dripping with sweat, sorry, nice visual I know! By the time I got to the last part of grass on the side of my house I was wobbly and felt faint. So I drank more water and grabbed an ice pop. I finished mowing with that ice pop in my mouth and felt great! My face was beat red and swollen! I took an ice cold shower when I was done, and it took me a long time to cool off...

I tried to take some pictures of Landon and myself for Greg. It's hard to do. I attempted, got a few, nothing great. Here is one, you can still see how swollen and red my face was from mowing.

I told Landon we could go to the book store and he could pick out a book. I wanted to look at some books on parenting and discipline. He picked out two Scooby Doo books. Scooby Doo is his new thing he likes. He watched some old cartoons on TV of it and really likes it. I like the books too. They are pretty funny. I then asked him if he wanted to go on a lunch date with me. He smiled very big and said, "yes!" So I asked where he would like to go. He replied with, "My favorite place mommy." I didn't know what he was talking about. I named the usual places like McDonald's. He kept saying no, then finally I asked him Schlotzskys? "YES that one mommy, it's my favorite." Ha! So we went and had lunch. Landon picked the table right in the sun.
I was still hot, so I we moved to another table and ate.

We came home and took some naps. Then met Aften and Zoey at the pool. It is really hot today so the water felt great. Zoey brought her mermaids so Landon was thrilled!

We stayed for over and hour then went to their house to chit chat for a little bit. Landon threw a fit when we left. But stopped when we were sitting outside talking. What at turd. We just finished dinner and are about to go out back and water.
I hope tomorrow is as nice as today. Landon was great all day (Minus crying when we left Aften's house). It makes my heart happy when Landon is happy!

Teddy Bear Picnic

Today Landon's class had a Teddy Bear picnic. They had them bring in a teddy bear or stuffed animal of some sort. Landon brought his Dalmatian bear that sings music. It usually hangs on his door, and I am surprised as to how much he likes that thing now. He asks to sleep with it a lot.

My camera battery was about dead. So I only got a few silly pictures of him.

But he had a blast at the picnic. He told me, "Thank-you mommy for coming to my teddy picnic, I had sooo much fun!" That is until it was time to go. He didn't want to leave...at all. I gave him time to play, went and had a snack then came back. He still wasn't ready and was doing the crying thing. I just smiled and said let's go, tell your friends by. He cried the entire walk to the car, saying he didn't want to leave. He was sad to go home. There was a parent at the desk with her child. I guess she told the clerks, "My child would never act like that!" What a you know what. I was ticked when they told me. I just shrugged my shoulders though and kept walking. When we got to the car Landon stopped and began asking a million questions.

We stopped at the Commissary on the way home. After we ate dinner we were going to go out back and I was going to work in the yard and Landon was going to play. Well I noticed it was hot, when I looked at the thermostat it said 82. What in the world? It sounded like it was running. Ugh. So Beau and Aften came to my rescue, but we were unable to get it to work. I called some people and we are stillllll waiting for them to show. It's 1023pm, I called at 745pm. He should be here any minute to check it out. I hope something works out. It's 86 in the house right now. Landon just fell asleep, and I know he is going to be hot tonight...

This is how Landon looked most of the evening:

It hasn't been too terribly bad, it could have been a lot worse. But I should have expected something like this to happen, Greg's gone, remember??
