I did it! 5K...

I did it! We got up super early and headed to downtown Austin for the Livestrong 5K. It was pretty cold out this morning. I wasn't nervous till we got to the downtown area!! The Livestrong Challenge is put on by Lance Armstrong and his foundation and it raises money for Cancer and cancer awareness. So it was for a really good cause. There were lots of cancer survivors out walking and running and lots of people walking and running for those they lost from cancer. It was a pretty emotional thing. They had big TV and they had people telling their stories and stuff and I couldn't watch it because it put a lump in my throat and was making me choke up. So anywho....

The run started at 8am. We walked around for a little bit and did some warm ups and stretches. I was tired from the warm ups Kenny was making us do! I thought, oh no I am never going to be able to do it!!! :)

So the race started, it took us two + minutes to start running there were so many people. Once we finally started running I turned the iPod on and off we went. It started off going down hill, AWESOME, then we turned the corner and it was flat and in to the sun. Then it was a hill. Oh man, this hill was hard. I almost wanted to stop, almost, but I didn't. I just pressed on. It was really nice to have Greg and Kenny looking at me smiling and telling me I was doing a good job. We eventually made it to the capital and ran right in front of it. By now we were on mile 2. It was down hill again, whew, I needed that. When we rounded the last corner and I saw that finish line I was like "wow, I've almost done it." We sprinted the last bit of it to the finish line. I looked up and saw the time. 28:24. WOW!!! We took off three minutes because we didn't start right away due to all the people in front of us! So we finished about 25:24! I did it! I didn't stop, that was my main goal. So I ran about a 8 1/2 min mile pace. It felt so good to say I did it.

When we were done we stopped and had breakfast at a little place in downtown. Then we headed home. Oma watched Landon. When we got home Landon was happy to see us. He said, "I looove you mommy!" He saw Greg's iPod and started pulling it around the house. It was funny.

I was so tired when we got home. We showered and hung out, had lunch and it was nap time. Kenny fell asleep on the couch, he was snoring and Landon said, "a dinosaur!" Then Oma put some shaving cream in his hand and when he woke up.......

It was pretty funny.

Landon wanted me to take a picture of his pizza face, but he REFUSES to open his eyes.
After naps we went to the pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin to carve with Oma and Opa tonight.

After we picked one out Oma, Landon and I headed in to Austin. We went to my favorite place, Target. My goal was to get stuff for Landon's party. We went to Party City and it was jam packed with people getting Halloween stuff. I only got some crepe paper. For some reason I couldn't find any orange in Abilene.

So now it's dinner time! Greg and Kenny are carb'n up for their ride tomorrow. They are doing a 46mile bike ride for the Livestrong. I'll post pictures of their race tomorrow and the pumpkin carving...

Results?

Have I got my results yet? No, No I haven't. I finally broke down and called last night. The girl was very nice and said, "Yes mam' your results are in, the Doctor just has to review them and they will call you. He's been on vacation and so we are just waiting on him!" Okay, how long does it take to read those and make a call? Is it good? Or healthy to make someone wait that long? I got a call tonight at 4:40pm. My heart sank, I got butterflies in my belly. It had to be them right?

Me: "Hello."
The other end " May I speak with Mrs. Teague."

Me: "This is her."

The other end " Hi am calling in regards to your home loan and you have been approved for blah blah blah blah blah............"

Me "Yeah, no thanks, take me OFF your list please!"

I was very disappointed to say the least. I thought for sure I was going to get a call from the doctors office. So in your opinion how long should I wait? It took nearly SIX weeks to get my first results, and it's taken 1 week 2 days so far for the second batch of results. Tomorrow is already Friday. Wait till Monday? Call tomorrow? Advice please....

So Saturday is the BIG day! My first 5K. I am ready, well, at least I think I am. I've been running. It was sooooo stinkin' windy here this week I couldn't even run outside. It was 20+ MPH winds out. If I wasn't so "heavy" I probably would have got knocked over! haha I just continued to run on the treadmill, putting it at an incline and stuff. I can run two miles piece of cake, 3.1 miles, I am sure I will be fine!

And Landon, he's been fine. Talking our ears off, being bossy as ever, making me laugh at the silly things he says and does. He is so excited about his birthday. And he is more than ready to move to Preschool. He tells me everyday, "I wanna go preschool momma." Now if I could just get him to stop wetting at nap. He stays dry at home. Not at school. Time to work on that. I've been shopping around and trying to figure out what to get him for his birthday. Not really sure. It's hard with Christmas around the corner too....

Anywho, I'll update you guys if I get results, please leave me some advice what to do, should I look for another DR too? Or is this normal and I am just impatient?? Thanks!

Cutie patootie's

We went to Landon's best friend, I should say girlfriend's birthday party. Landon was VERY excited to pick out her gift. He got he a purple mermaid Barbie, a book, coloring book, markers and a Little Pet Shop fish. He wanted that Mermaid and fish soooo bad! I think she liked it, she riped through all the gifts like most kids do. It was a small quiet party, Landon had the best time ever. There was a bouncy castle with a big slide down the side....

They also rode around on the property in a Cadillac! They were giggling and just going in circles. Leah drove, Landon got gas, and messed with the radio. They were as happy as could be. We had to help them steer and they would get stuck every now and then.

Landon loved playing in her room, he loves girl toys, well he was playing with her kitchen and making tea and coffee for everyone. Then it was cake and ice cream, Landon sat for the singing and then bolted back to the room. After that it was gifts and more bouncy castle. When it was time to go, Landon was soooo upset. He did not want to leave his Leah. He was crying so hard. All the way home he kept saying, "I want to go to Leah's."

I can't believe tomorrow is already Monday. Where on Earth did the weekend go? I love to be busy, but man these past two days have flown by. This weekend I will be running my first 5K in Austin. I'll be running with Kenny and Greg. Greg and Kenny will also be riding a 40 something mile bike ride through the Hill Country on Sunday. It will be another busy weekend... I've got lots of running to do this week. I hope it isn't too hot so I can run outside...

Have a great week ya'll!

Boo at the Zoo

We had a VERY busy day today. We went over to a friends house and watch the UT vs OU game. UT won, yay! Landon had fun playing with the girls. I enjoyed hanging out and the food. It was a really nice morning.
After the game we ran home, got Landon changed and headed to the zoo. It was 330 and Landon hadn't napped yet. He of course fell asleep right at the beginning. But, I think the power nap did him good. He was really happy and had a blast!!!
It was pretty warm out, so we got a picture with the hat on, then it was off the rest of the time.
Well, besides the time Greg wore it!

We waited for Aften, Zoey, Nicole and Jackson to get there. They were all happy to see each other and anxious to get some candy!!!!

We also saw Aubree at the zoo, isn't she adorable? Landon played with her all morning at the football game. The other Aubrey was there too, she was snoozin' in her stroller.

It was fun, there were booths set up all around handing out candy. We would get some candy and then look at the animals. Landon had a blast! It was VERY packed, and LOTS AND LOTS of people. Lots of people liked Landon's costume. We even had some people stop and take some pictures! ha

Landon enjoyed looking at all the costumes. He loved getting candy and eating it, and he loved to look at all the animals...

We got done and it was wayyy past dinner time. We quickly went to Rosa's for some dinner and headed home. Boy what a fun and tiring day. We are all super tired and ready for bed. We have a busy day again tomorrow. We gotta get some yard work done, go to the commissary and then we have a birthday party to go to!!! Fun fun fun!!!

A week or so

I went to the Doctors today, I just had to do some more lab work. I drank tons and tons of water to make sure my veins were good and ready! I warned the lady my veins were stubborn and hard to find. And whaddaya know, the lady found one right off the bat and got one! It was so easy! Whew, I was happy. So I should hear back by next week as to whats going on. Now I just get to play the waiting game!!!!

On to other things. Landon is a ham bone, yeah like we didn't already know that. He is in a super great mood today. I love that. When I came home from work and the Dr's Landon and Greg bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and they were waiting on the table for me. They are so sweet. Landon was VERY excited for me to see them, he helped picked them out.

I have a dinner to go to, a goodbye dinner for a coworker, on Thursday. It'll be nice to go out with adults. Greg will be home so he will watch Landon. Then this weekend we are going to go to a birthday party. It's for Landon's best friend from school. He loves this little girl so much. It's cute, but they get in to trouble those two. They also have a Boo at the Zoo. You can walk through and go trick or treating at the Zoo. I know Landon will love that! So it looks like the rest of the week will be busy. I NEED to start back running. I got that 5K on the 24th, I don't know if I'm ready!

Results

After waiting for a few weeks, and giving up, I got a call from the Doctors office. Remember, I had to go and get blood drawn and they bruised me like crazy? Yeah that appointment. Anywho, I was assuming the whole, "No News is Good News" saying. Then this afternoon the phone rang. It was the Doctors office. They said It looks like I may have Hypothyroidism and my pituitary gland levels came back high. So I have to go back tomorrow to get some more tests. So I am kinda scared. Well, I am just plain scared. It will explain a lot of things. Being moody, tired and all that. But I am scared. My stomach is in knots right now. Of course Greg is at work, so I had to call him right away to talk. I wish he was here with me to tell me everything is going to be ok. I do have Landon who is full of hugs and kisses today. Thats nice. So when I get off tomorrow I will go back to the office and get some tests done. Wish me luck. I am drinking lots and lots of water, that way they can get my vein easily! haha. I'll keep you posted. (That is if anyone is reading this thing)

One last thing, Landon ate pretty well today, which makes me VERY happy! Keep it up Landon!

Food For Thought

Well, a question about eating food actually. How on Earth do you get your child to eat? Is mine just picky? Or did I do wrong with feeding him? Here lately it is like pulling tooth and nail to get my child to eat. He seems to eat the fruit and that's about it. Sometimes he'll go for the veggies. Last night we made him sit in his chair until he ate a piece of his fish, which he usually will devour. We played shark, dinosaur, when he would get a piece in his mouth he would gag. What in the world? He's always eaten pretty well. I've never had a problem. Is it because he is getting older and able to tell us no, and what he likes and doesn't like? We try to offer everything we eat. For lunch today I made him some chicken fries, a piece of cheese and some pineapple. I gave him a squirt of ranch for his chicken, NOPE! All he ate was the pineapple. He took a few bites out of his chicken, in the past he would eat six of those chicken sticks. We ALWAYS sit down and eat with him. We always eat as a family, except the nights Greg is at work, but I still sit with him. Please, I need some tips and pointers. I even bought Whole Milk today because he seems to be getting too skinny. I don't know what to do!!!!???!!!! And no he isn't eating snacks before meals or filling up on liquids, I made sure of that.....

I LOVE fall

This morning we had a little boy crawl into bed with us. He doesn't do it often, but he did this morning. It sure was a great way to start the day. It also was nice because it was cold out this morning so we all snuggled in bed and watched some cartoons. Once we mustered the strength to get out of bed we went to the donut shop and got some donuts.

We took Landon for a hair cut today. We are trying to let his hair grow a little on top. Poor guy always gets a Military hair cut just like daddy. The lady did a wonderful job and Landon was as happy as a clam the whole time. We got done at lunch time. We so did not need to eat out but we were right next door to Jason's Deli. It was cold out, and I thought of their French Onion soup. We HAD to go! So we went and split a sandwich and got a cup of soup. It hit the spot. A nice hot cup of soup on a cold day, it was just what we needed!

I got to stroll through Hobby Lobby and the party store ALONE! It sure was peaceful and much needed. I came home and told Greg he didn't want to know how much money I'd spent. He looked at me. $1.09. That's it! I just bought two cookie cutters at Hobby Lobby. When I got home I woke Landon from his nap and we headed back out. We stopped at a bike shop for Greg and then went to a pumpkin patch.

Landon is such a stinker. It's nearly impossible to get him to look at the camera. STUBBORN STUBBORN STUBBORN!

Notice the ring box. Landon carried it around alllll day. We put a key ring in there because he wanted a ring in there. Not happening. He hasn't let it go. He even slept with it in his bed. All day i've heard the clicking and snapping of the box closing...
Landon was not such a happy clam when I wanted to try to get a good picture. What a booger.

I finally snagged that dang ol' ring box and we started chasing him. HE FINALLY got happy for us. And we eventually found a pretty nice pumpkin.

I loved that white pumpkin. The odd one in the group. They had lots of odd ball pumpkins, too me those were the best.

That red one looks like a old warty tomato that is shriveled up!

My boys, I couldn't not for the life of me to get Landon to look at the camera. He is as stubborn as an OX, just like his mamma!! Well Greg is stubborn too, which makes Landon SUPER DUPER stubborn.

We have a fire going in the fireplace and all my cinnamon candles burning. It's about 50 outside, it feels like fall and I LOVE it! I'm going to go start dinner and enjoy my nice cozy house with Landon and Greg. Hope everyone had a wonderful Fall Day too!

Nemo it is!

I didn't want to do a "theme" for Landon's birthday. I saw lots of stuff I liked, and Landon was looking over my shoulder and saw lots of stuff he liked. I was going to go with Nemo, I decided, nah, I just wanted to go with something simple. My mom found a set of Nemo birthday items and she bought them. When we got home from work on Thursday we had a package on the door. I opened it up and showed Landon, His face instantly lit up! "NEMO!" So Nemo it is! Thanks grammie for all the Nemo stuff. Landon is very excited about and so are we.

Landon so wanted to open it all up, I told him we couldn't, but he was starting to have a melt down, and me, tired from working all day didn't want to go through a melt down so I let him have a cup with dinner! Boy oh boy was that boy happy!!!!!

So now I am planning foods, getting the guest list together, and I am going to start working on invites. Looks like the party is most likely going to be on Saturday November 14th. Not 100% yet.

Landon is going through a play dough phase right now. He will sit and play with it forever. I just get out his little couch and table and put a beach towel under him and let him go for it.
Tonight at Wal Mart I got him a fish/whale play dough set. It has a dolphin and you push the play dough in and hair comes out the top! HE LOVES IT!
I've been training, I don't know if you would exactly call it training, but I've been going to the gym again to prepare for this 5K I got recruited for. In case you haven't heard, I am going to be running a 5K in downtown Austin on OCT 24th with Greg and Kenny. It is for the Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Foundation. I am excited and nervous. I like to run. I like to run on the treadmill. That could be a problem. But I slacked at the gym for a few weeks and I started back this week. I've been averaging about 2 miles each day. Starting this coming Monday I am going to run outside. I needed to get back on track. So wish me luck on all this. Greg is going to be riding a 48mile bike ride with Kenny as well. Whew, I so could not do that!!!
And the excitement for the evening. Greg was trying to fill in some stuff on the door outback tonight. I don't know what this stuff is called, but anywho, he sprayed a TON of it. When he opened the door back up Luke, our dumb cat, went running outside. He had this sticky stuff that doesn't come off alllllll over him! Yes, it was horrible. Greg and I had to throw him in the bath and CUT this stuff out of his hair and whiskers. Greg and I are so NOT groomers, let's just say Luke looks a little lopsided now!!

Randomness

Lots of random things today. First off I can't believe my Lil man is going to be 3, YES THREE, in 42 days. It's so hard to believe. I've been going shopping on line trying to figure out what to do for his birthday. He is so in to the sea life I wanted to do something in Sharks, or Whales. But, it's hard to find that type of stuff this time of the year. So I think I've got it all figured out what I am going to do. I'm going to just do lots of bold colors, blues and reds. I found this super cute felt banner at Michael's. I used a 40% off coupon today and paid $6 for it. It says "Happy Birthday."

And for the invites I wanted to get some with whales on them. I found this stuff today at Michael's as well, and on clearance. The stickers were $.99 and the cards for 8 was $1.99. I am going to type the wording at home and glue it in there. I know they aren't the bold, but I still think it will turn out cute. I am only going to use the whale stickers.

I also found this Pin the Fin on the Shark game at Michael's. It's a banner, so nice quality, it's the only thing I've found around here like it, so of course I snagged it up. I got it at Michael's as well. It was $14.99 and I used a 40% coupon on it.

Landon really really likes it and he really wants me to open it up. But I told him we have to wait for his Birthday. And for being so young he is sooooo excited about his birthday! It's very cute to me. So after Michael's this morning and all our good deals we went to Wal Mart to get a few things. I also priced the paper goods. I am going to do just solid red and blue. I am going to check Hobby Lobby and the party store and see what my best bet is. It seems you pay so much to get the party stuff with designs on it and you never use it all....

On our way home we stopped at McDonald's. Landon got himself a new hat, grease and all...

He makes me laugh so much. So as I get rolling on more birthday stuff and dates and all that I'll blog about it. I know for sure we are going to get a bouncy castle and I want to try to find a shark pinata. That would be cool!

Twice a year here in Abilene they have a big consignment sale called Ditto's For Kiddo's. You can be a consignor and sell your stuff. You make about 65% of what you sale, and you get in early before the place opens to the public. I got some clothes of Landon's that didn't fit and sold them. You enter your inventory on line, they print labels and then you pin them to all your stuff. You take it to the place to sell. It's only open for three days. It's like a HUGE garage sale for kids stuff. I saw some really good deals. I only got one thing:

The Thomas the Train Board thing. Look at Landon, I put him down for a nap and I wanted to take a picture, he was looking up at it with one hand over his eye. So anyway, I got that for 5bucks. If you have lots of kids that is the way to go. I liked to go and watch the people. Some of those women go NUTS! They don't have carts or anything in there. Those ladies were taking laundry baskets and hooking belts on them and dragging them around and filling them up! CRAZY! I only had 20 items. 17 of them sold, I wasn't sure how to price everything, I think I under priced a lot. But I made $40.00! Next year it is in February and I am going to go through his stuff WAYYY before hand and sell some more. That is if I don't get pregnant between now and then! :)

Pumpkins Pumpkins

Today was a fun Saturday, and it's only the middle of the day! This morning we went to a 5k Heart walk. It was over at the Zoo. We joined lots and lots of other people, Landon wanted to go over to the Zoo soooo bad, but he was a trooper and enjoyed the walk, or I should say, he enjoyed his stroll!!! haha.

After the walk we went over to Sam's Club. We got our normal stuff, water, cereal and a book. After that we went over to Academy so Greg could get some gel's for his training and then we stopped at Garden World for some pumpkins. Landon needs to bring a pumpkin to school Monday for the week, They are going to weigh them, measure them and all that fun stuff. So off we went.....
My silly little boys. They actually had a nice set up for pictures.

We told Landon to find a pumpkin. They had so many cool ones. He went around trying to pick up the pumpkins...but he said, "my muscles too big!"

He was super excited to pick up this big pumpkin, he thought he was so strong!

After picking out a few pumkpins it was lunch time. We went to TaMolly's for lunch. We hadn't been for a while, boy did it taste good and hit the spot!

(yea I know, I look really fat, I SOOOO need to loose weight!)

These are the pumpkins he choose. We tried to go with the smaller ones, ones that he could pick up. He got the white one for Ms Judy, and I think he said a small one was for Ms Heike. I guess since we told him they were for school he assumed he had to get one for his teachers!! :)

My boys are napping right now. I took a nice little snooze on the couch. Landon was dreaming and talking and it woke me up. So once nap time is over we are going to go to the movies. We wanted to watch the special Toy Story 1 & 2 Double feature but the times aren't very good, so, it looks like we are going to go watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. Landon is just like his Dad, he LOVES to go to the movies, and just watch movies in general. It' should be lots of fun! Have a great weekend Ya'll!!!
