Tantrums

They say terrible two's are bad, but I've heard that terrible three's are worse? Landon usually is a pretty laid back type of kid. He is like me, doesn't like change, and he'll let you know about it. But for the most part he is pretty easy going. We had a few 'Terrible Two' moments, which of course is expected. The closer we get to "3" the more tantrums I seem to be seeing. Hm? Is it because he is communicating and understanding more?

For instance tonight I was cleaning out my bedroom closet. It's a walk in closet, but there really wasn't no walking in that closet. So Landon and I went to work. He was having a blast, he was telling me I was in 'his class' and stuff. Then I found a bag of jewelry I had. I have needed to get my wedding ring fixed, a prong is bent. Landon saw the box and wanted to see. So I showed him. He liked it. He asked to see it again. I showed him and told him it was broken and I needed to get it fixed. He wanted it. I told him no it was too expensive and I put it away. And it began! He was screaming bloody murder. I tired to talk him out of it, no, he wanted that ring. So I told him he needed to go to his room for a little bit till he could calm down. He went in there. I went to check on him after about 3 min. He stopped. That's usually how it goes. Once I go in he is fine. Then he proceeds to tell me he wanted to play with Play Dough. No way! I told him no he couldn't tonight, maybe tomorrow. And it started all over.......

Sooooo, after about 30min of screaming and in and out of his room he finally calmed down. I needed a minute alone so I came to get on the computer for a second. He comes in behind me after a minute or two and yells at me, "Get offf puter NOW MOMMY!" And he had a melt down again.....

We are good now. Usually we have little spats, he has his meltdowns and then it is over. I am hoping he was just tired. He is already passed out on the couch, we were watching TV together and cuddling and he zonked out. So that was our fun and exciting evening!

Busy Weekend

What a busy weekend we had! Greg competed in his first ever Triathlon in McKinney TX. We drove to Dallas Friday night and stayed with Alex, Jennifer and Ava. Landon of course was very excited, as soon as Ava and Landon saw each other they were running around screaming! It was funny.

Saturday we woke up and went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I've never been before, and we have one five minutes from us. Man, it was fantastic! I loved the store too, it smelled wonderful, just like Christmas! It was Greg and I that went, and we took Landon and Ava with us. It was our first time to take Ava anywhere. It was fun, Ava was awesome.

After filling our bellies Greg and Alex went to check out the course and pick up his packet. Jen, Ava, Landon and I went shopping. We went to Grapevine Mills Mall. It is exactly like Ontario Mills Mall where I worked right after high school, it was neat. My main goal was to get Landon's Nemo costume from the Disney Store, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

We stopped at the Rain Forest cafe, Landon and Ava were in heaven. We were there forever and had to go back. They tossed coins at the alligator (fake one) when it would wake up. Landon and Ava weren't in to shopping, no good for Jen and I. Landon fell asleep towards the end and I had to lug that big ol' boy around till we got to the car, that mall is HUGE!

When we got to their house Kenny and Tina were there. (Oma and Opa) They came to stay the night and watch Greg's Triathlon. That night we went to a Western Fest in Lewisville, Landon and Ava got to pet the animals...
And they got to ride the horses, they both had smiles on their faces the entire time! (so did Opa)

We munched on kettle corn, mmm....

And then went home and had a big pasta dinner. Sunday morning we all headed out to watch Greg compete. There were lots and lots of people there, and it was in a VERY nice area.
You can see all the people waiting for their swim to start. Greg's age group was second, they were in the purple caps. If you look you can see Kenny and Landon walking down there, Landon wanted to find Daddy!

It was a 750 m swim, Greg did it under 20mins. This is him going to transition.

In between waiting Landon got to play in the park in the middle, nice break for mommy..

Next was the 12 mile bike. We got to see Greg woosh by. I got a picture but it wasn't that great. After that it was the 3.5mile run!

This was right out of the transition, Greg is #463.

And the above picture is right before the finish line! He did awesome! It was really fun to watch him. He made me so proud! Landon was very excited too. Greg finished in 1hr39min49sec. He got 19 out of 30 in his age group and 243 out of 445 people over all. For his first, it was great! I think he is hooked, he wants to do it again.....
We've been busy with lots of other things, I'll blog more tomorrow if i get a chance. I'll leave you with a glimpse of Landon's super cute Halloween costume that he LOVES! I love it too, it's so soft and plush.....

All Better

Landon is doing MUCH better! That whole viral thing was very stressful. It just came out of no where, and of course when Landon got sick Greg was in Oklahoma for the weekend, so I of course was all on my own. Landon was such a good boy though. Just when I thought he was getting better Sunday night he vomited again. Man, that poor baby just could not get a break! Greg got home Sunday night and was off Monday so just to be safe Landon stayed home with Daddy.

By Monday morning Landon was back to normal, no fever and no vomiting. Thank god! Landon and Greg had to take Greg's car to the body shop to get our ding fixed. They also had to go and get a rental car. They gave Greg a Chevy Cobalt. Man, that thing is SMALL! I feel claustrophobic in that thing.... Greg will probably have it for a few weeks too. Haha Greg! After that they went to the Zoo together. Landon was very happy to have his daddy back.

Greg has his first Triathlon this weekend North of Dallas. He is excited. It will be neat to go watch him. I hope he does well. It will be interesting to watch. I'm not sure of the distances he is going, there are all different distances. I think he said the Olympic distance. Whatever that is!! All's I know about that stuff is it gets EXPENSIVE!

And no, I still haven't gotten any of my test results back. I am taking the "no news is good news" to mind now. Kinda frustrating, I wanted to know how it all came back, even to get a "good" or "Normal" would be nice.... I guess I should get on the meds that would make me ovulate monthly, Landon needs a baby brother or sister....If I wait any longer I may decide to not have any more!!!!

Can we get a little break here?

My oh my what a week it has been. I was so happy today is Friday. Friday's are supposed to be those easy days, the ones that fly by (so I usually hope). Today has just been up and down. The day started great, work was fine. Then around 9 something I get a call that Landon got bit. Oh No! Poor guy. Then I get another call at 1145ish. Landon has 101.4 temp. They were scrambling to get me out of there. I got a Little nervous, I don't like it when Landon is sick, especially with the whole H1N1 virus stuff. Crap! So I get him an appointment for 230. They got me out of work by 12! Thank you so much. When I got to Landon's class he was being cradled by his teacher, he looked awful. His teachers said he didn't even come to the table for lunch, that is SO NOT Landon. It makes me so sad when he is sick. So we are headed out the door and Landon says, "I feel good now mama!" I told him yeah but he had a fever and we needed to go home to make him feel better. He told me again, "Oh, I feel good now mama, I not sick anymore!"

So we head home. I thought Landon was going to fall asleep, it was nap time and he had been up since 545am. He stayed awake the entire time. NOT NORMAL! We got home and I got some Motrin and fluids in him and we rested on the couch. He NEVER fell asleep. WEIRD! So we got to his Dr's. Man, as we were sitting in that waiting room I just kept thinking about all the disease's that were in there. Kids were coughing, sneezing, coughing, crying, ugh, it was terrible. I am SO thankful we got called back VERY quick. Whew! They did the swine flu test and a test for strep. Both we negative THANK GOD! She checked his ears and they were clear. Everything else was normal. She said it was just viral. She then asked if I wanted him to get a flu shot. I suppose. Landon was super happy the entire time we were there, till he got jabbed in the leg. OH MAN! I hadn't heard him scream like that for a while.....jeez Louise....

I am now just plain tired. We had to stop at Walgreen's so I could pick up some pictures I had developed and I wanted to get Landon some Gatorade. Of course Landon finally fell asleep! I had to lug my 31lb baby through Walgreen's. HEAVY! You would think I would be super buff by now. Landon woke up on the drive home and he chugged some juice. We were home ten minutes. I was putting some mail away and I heard a VERY loud bang. And another scream and wail! CRAP now what?????? I go to the living room and find Landon on the floor. He some how managed to fall in to our TV console! He has a huge welt/knot on his chin. My goodness, can the poor baby get a break??? It took a while to calm him down. He finally did, big ol' alligator tears rolling down his face..... so I started dinner. I asked what he wanted and he said, "mac n cheese and Peanut butter." So I got his dinner ready, mac n cheese and a PBJ sandwich. I set him down to eat and he starts crying, "I no hungry mommy, I don't wanna eat, NOOOOO" Man.... I did manage to get him to eat two GoGurts. I'll try again later....

And OF COURSE Greg is not home, so I am all on my own again. It always works that way....
On a happier note I think we've found Landon's Halloween costume:

We tried it on him when we were in Dallas and I think I am going to order it from the Disney Store. I didn't get in before because I wanted to kinda look around and see what else was out there. Landon LOVES this and when he See's it he says, "I be Nemo for Ha-o-een!"

Curtains

I've been wanting to blog, but been busy, well, I guess you could say busy. This week has gone by fast. Monday I had my 'yearly' appointment that I had to reschedule, you know, I had to reschedule because it was 2 hours past my appointment time and I HAD to go get Landon. Yeah that one. It went well. I really liked the doctor. In Germany you really didn't have a choice. I saw all the doctors over there! ha! (there were so many people, you would see whoever had an appointment usually) I was kinda nervous here because you have Lot's of choices. But it turned out great. We discussed lots of things. This might be TMI so you might want to skip this part. But I have always had off cycles, anywhere between 30-60 days between them. Usually 45 days. He said he wanted to get some blood work to make sure everything was working properly. So after my appointment I headed to the lab.....

I've ALWAYS had a hard time getting blood drawn, and getting an IV. This time was no different. I thought since maybe it wasn't Military it would be a lot better. Nah, I was wrong. The girl poked me twice. The second one she did on my forearm. YEOUCH! And she of course blew my vein, NOT FUN! Then she wanted to let the other guy try. He got it first time on my other arm but it took him a while to find one. My veins are very small and deep! They always have to use the butterfly, pediatric, needle on me. So needless to say, I have a HUGE bruise on my right forearm. I am still waiting for the tests to make sure everything is in working function and my hormones aren't off. I am so impatient, I hate waiting for answers!

It's been cool and rainy here. It feels like fall already and I am totally loving it! I've actually worn a sweater the past two days in the morning! YES I said sweater! :) Our yard was just growing like crazy so once the weather cleared Greg mowed. We needed to go to Lowes to get some oil for the weedwacker. I of course found some curtains. I've been wanting some for our bedroom for a while. Greg said we didn't need any, but of course we did!!!!!
Before:

I think it looks better. It feels more homey to me. Our room is nothing fancy. Those tables are our old end tables from our living room set we got like 8 years ago!!!!

I can't believe that this time last year Greg was getting his bags ready for deployment. It was really hard for us all to say goodbye. It's never easy when your spouse is going to war. It wasn't Greg's first time to deploy, but it was his first time to go since Landon was born. It was a long hard 4 months. Especially since Greg missed all the holidays. We are so happy to have him home this year!!! Well, I am happy to have him home ALL the time, but you know, since he missed this time last year, it'll be nice to share it with him this year.....

Rainy Sunday

Ahhh, I love this cool rainy weather. It's been raining for about three days now, and I LOVE it. Today was a nice relaxing day. I cleaned this morning, we made a quick trip to Walmart and then came home to watch the Cowboys game.

I started dinner around two. I made goulash. mm, delicious! I cooked it for about 3 1/2 hours, when it was done it melted in our mouths!

I took a picture of it and then Landon asked me to take a picture of his noodle. He is so silly!

After dinner we indulged in brownies, now I am so stuffed I cant move. So that was our day in a nutshell. Nothing exciting, a very nice quiet relaxing rainy day. I have my appointment tomorrow that I had to reschedule. I hope I get seen on time, or I get seen at that! ha! Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and I hope you have a great week!!!!!!!!

Vent

I need to vent, so are you ready?

We had a scheduled Staff training/meeting today from 8-12. It was posted about 3 weeks ago, shoot maybe even longer. It's to work on our NAYEC Accrediation. It's lots of tedious work, espcially since I am in preschool. Right away I realized Greg was working. THAT ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME! No matter what, whenever I have to work at night, have a meeting or have to work on the weekends Greg is working. It NEVER fails. So I asked if I could bring Landon. The person I asked said they needed to ask. They came back and said, "yeah I don't see a problem with it." GREAT! Whew, the next few weeks I didn't have to worry about it. So they day rolls around. I get up at 630, get myself and Landon ready. We make a pit stop at AM Donuts so I could get an amazing ham and cheese croissant. Landon got a sprinkle donut. We pressed on to work. Got there around 8. I could feel some stares when I walked in with Landon. Whatever. We had a short meeting and we went to our classes to work. 845am we've been in our classes for about 2 minutes two people walk in, one that told me it was ok to bring Landon, with looks on their faces. My first response, "am I in trouble?" I got the nod. And then I got, "Landon can't be here, you have to leave!" WHAT?? From here I don't remember what I said. I do know I said, "Thanks for making me look like a dumb ass in front of everyone. I had to listen to several people make comments. I recieved lots of glares. Why didn't you tell me?" Blah.....blah..... I tired to all Greg to see if he could get out of work. He didn't answer. The retired CMSGT of the Air Force is visiting and was at the Fire Station. So I picked up my stuff and Landon and I left. As soon as I got through those glass doors my eyes filled with tears.

I had tears rolling down my cheeks most of the drive home. Mainly becuse I felt like a complete idiot. If they would have told me sooner I would have made alternate plans. But they didn't. So I had to take all the glares and comments and then get sent home. We got home a few minutes after nine. We hung out for a bit then we went shopping. Retail Therapy is always great for me. Landon and I strolled through Hobby Lobby checking out all the fall stuff, smelling all the holiday candles and enjoying being out. Then we went to Target. We saw like 4 people from school. All kids from Landon's class actually. We stopped and chit chatted, got what we needed then headed home. We ate lunch and then napped. It turned out to be a great morning after being sent home....

So thanks for listening to me whine and complain like a baby. Sometimes it makes me feel better to blog about it. I am so glad it's cool and rainy today, it makes being home and in your PJ's even better!

Long short Week

Gosh, it was supposed to be a short week. But it seemed to drag. Works been busy. I actually have to work tomorrow morning. Yuck. I won't be complaining when I get my paycheck though will I??

Nothing terribly exciting happened this week. We did get lots of rain and storms. That is always nice and welcome here in Texas. I've actually worn jeans the past two days! I can't believe it. (it's not cold but you can be comfortable wearing jeans) I had my yearly appt on Thursday. You know, the yearly one you dread. Well, at least I dread. It was at 230pm. Perfect, Greg was at work so I was able to leave Landon at the CDC while I went. They seemed to be behind when I got there. I got taken back about 40 min after my appointment. I get the sexy gown on and wait. Wait. Wait. The girl knocks on the door, "Sorry, the DR had to go deliver a baby, he should be back soon!" "Ok, I can wait for a little bit but I gotta go get my son." So I waited some more. I HAD to leave now. It had been two hours total, almost 430pm! So I told the girl, she was VERY sweet and I rescheduled for Monday. It was of course a torrential down pour and it took me forever to get back on base to get Landon.

I finally arrive at the CDC and there is a fire truck out front with the lights on. My first thought was someone fell and got hurt. Then I heard the alarms. Oops! Alarm! I have to run in, it's raining still. I sign Landon out as quick as I can head to his class. I see Greg in his full bunkers with another guy in MY class reseting the fire alarm. Yes, one of the children in our class pulled it! Sooo funny that Greg was at work and he had to help them!! Landon's teacher walked him across the hall to see daddy in action. Landon was very happy to see that!!!

I don't know what it is with me and Dr's appts. I always seem to have to wait forever. Landon's always seem to run late, of course always when I am in a hurry, and mine as well. One of these days I'll get in at my appointment time!!!!! Hopefully Monday. I don't want to have to sit in that sexy gown too long again....haha...

Labor Day Weekend

Saturday afternoon we headed to Dallas. Our first stop was the mall in Frisco. It was huge! I was in pure heaven, minus the temper tantrum, grouchy two year old we had. Our main goal was to get Landon some Crocs. Mission accomplished! We even got a Dorie and Nemo for the tops of them! Let's just say the first hour we were in the mall was terrible. Landon was not happy, he was screaming and everything was making him upset. We could not get him calmed down. It was so embarrassing because everyone stares, like they've never had a two year old or seen a two year old. We had bought him cookie when we first got there that he refused to eat. Finally I about forced him to take a bite. Good thing I did, he did a total turn around and was the Landon we know! I think he just had low blood sugar. We offered snacks and juice, he was refusing. But whew, I am glad it passed!
We walked around the mall, went in quite a few stores but didn't really buy anything. We stopped at Target and got some cups since I left Landon's at home and then we headed to Alex, Jen and Ava's. Landon was so excited to go. He's missed Ava bunches. We just hung out that night. Sunday morning Alex and Greg went in to Dallas to go for a swim and a 20mile bike ride. It's the course for the Dallas open coming up. (Triathlon) They were supposed to be home 10-1030 and we were supposed to go to the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens. hmmm 130 rolls around and in they walk. It took longer than expected but we still headed to the gardens.

Landons snoozed in the car, thank god. When we got there him and Ava were super grouchy. They had some fruit snacks and juice and once they saw the water they were back to normal!

Landon was even more thrilled while we were waiting there was a fish tank with all the fish from Finding Nemo!

We first wen through the observatory which was like a rain forest. It was pretty neat.

And then it was off to the gardens! Look at those two running. Landon just adores Ava. He loves her so much!

Ava said they were looking for the princess down there, Landon agreed. He agrees with everything Ava says! It was funny listening to them, Ava was making up stories of what we were looking for and Landon was always like, "yeah."

It was very pretty there, very relaxing and it smelled really good. It was hot though. About 95 out. Always exteme in Texas :)
It seems all the picture I have are of the back of those two. They were running
everywhere!

As Landon was coming out the spot where he wasn't supposed to be he was giggling and saying that it was tickling his legs. It was funny.

I put my camera on flower option and took a bunch of pictures. I really enjoyed doing that. There were the huge bumble bees, butterfly's and cute kids to take pictures of too. Too bad my battery went dead towards the end. That always happens to me!

Landon's hair was wet he was so hot. It didn't stop the boy though, it neve does!

There were some things you could talk in to to the squirrels. It said to whisper, they of course yelled, but they really liked it.

This is my FAVORITE picture of all, They are soooo silly together. The entire time they are together they are laughing, giggling, screaming and talking. And this picture shows just that...

This is about where we turned around. It was pretty warm, and we were out of water. Landon was super duper sweaty and hot. Not to mention we were hot too. Plus it was pushing 5 and they were closing and we still had to drive home.

Landon didn't want to leave Ava. We have to go see her again soon. We got home unpacked and watched Big Brother. (I don't like Natalie) Today we are relaxing. We went to Sam's to get some things, Greg went for a run and Landon and I napped. We are headed to go grab something to BBQ for dinner. We need to go grocery shopping but the Commissary is closed today, I refuse to do all my shopping anywhere else, it's just too expensive. I hope you all had a good Labor Day weekend. Back to work tomorrow. At least it's only a 4 day work week. Well, not really, I have to work Saturday, ugh!!!!

'Night mommy.."

I think I have the sweetest son ever. Last night before bath and bed I started getting a bad headache. I could feel it was in my sinus's because my eyes were hurting and my nose. (that area in general) Landon was playing so well in his room, he had everything out of his toy box and found lots of 'new' things to play with. (he never opens that toy box!) I came in to watch him play and I laid down on is bed. He looked over at me and smiled then I saw him looking for something. We've been reading him a book before bed it's called 'Just go to Bed.' He found it and sat down beside me. He got right back up and covered me and then sat down to read me a story.

He would tell me "I'll be right back," while holding up a finger. He walked would away then come back and say, "it's OK mommy, I right here!" and he'd pat me on the headed. When I told him I didn't feel well he gave me a kiss and said, "you OK mommy!"

He would rub my back and tell me "don't cry, I right here," pretty much word for word what we say to him some times. Then he would tell me, "I gotta get a drink of water, I be right back" and he would walk out. Some nights he doesn't want us to leave the room, and I know he is tired and I'll tell him, "I have to go potty, be right back," or "I'm going to get a drink, be back in a second." Then I come back and he is already asleep!

He was so sweet putting me to sleep. I'm so lucky to have such a loving and cuddly boy. I love him so much and looking at the pictures just melt my heart!

So today I woke up still not feeling well. I had a really bad night. I was in a lot of pain and because I was in so much pain it was making my stomach upset. I could not get comfortable, I was in and out of the bathroom, it was not fun. I finally fell asleep and when I woke up this morning I felt better. I still had a headache and was sore all in my neck and shoulders. I took some more Mortin and watched cartoons with Landon. By 10 I was feeling a lot better. I needed to run a few errands so Landon and I headed out. We went to Kohls and Old Navy and then Chick Fil A for lunch. (Landon and I split a chicken tender meal). I just got Landon down for a nap. I think I am going to rest again. I took my antibiotic and my stomach is rumbling again. Grr.....

We are taking dinner to Greg tonight, and it looks like we are headed to Dallas on Saturday. We are going to maybe go to the Ft Worth Zoo and then go see Alex, Jen and Ava. We will probably spend the night and Sunday go to the Arboretum. I haven't been but they go a lot and it looks like a lot of fun. And with the weather being so nice lately I am all about it!

Crunch

Fudge, I always upload the pictures backwards. I forget which order to do them Oops....

Landon likes to wear his towel on his head for a little while after his bath at night. He runs through the house. He will ask me, "like my hair cut mommy?" or he will say, "I got hair like you mommy!" Silly little guy. The things he comes up with.

Now on to my story. I had a DR's appt today after work. I haven't been feeling to great all week. Tired, a cough and ear aches. My ears have been hurting quite a bit, now I know how poor Landon feels. I don't think I can remember ever having an ear infection. Anywho, I went to the DR's and I pretty much have an ear infection and sinus infection. Weird, I haven't had any sinus problems, but I think I went early enough and they caught it. They called me in a RX to Walmart. I went home and got Landon and Greg and we headed to Wallyworld. As soon as we get in the parking lot two people crossed over going the wrong way and Greg said, "better be careful today, lots of bad drivers." We see a spot open pretty close, score, and then a car starts to back out so we stop and wait. The car is backing out, and pulls forward, so we start to go and Greg see's a CRV starting to back out directly beside us, he honks and tries to pull forward to avoid the guy and SMASH.....

CRAP! Greg was mad, my heart was beating and my first reaction was to look at Landon and make sure he was ok. He was just as shocked as we were. Greg pulls in to the spot RIGHT NEXT to the car. I could see in Greg's eyes and in his face he was mad! So, I told him, "GREG CHILL OUT, BE NICE! STAY COOL GREG!" He puts the car in park, I go flying out the door around the car and I go off, "what in the ^$&%* are you thinking? You backed right in to us! I have a baby in the car you could have HURT!" Greg just stared at me. I couldn't believe I did that. You all know me, I am quite and pretty shy, I do not like confrontations at ALL! The guys was kinda weird, but Greg called his insurance right then and there. It should all be covered by that guy. Hmph! Greg even called it when we got in the parking lot! I am just so thankful nobody got hurt!
So that was my story. What a crazy way to start my weekend. I get 4 days off, I am so thankful for that too. I need a break. Greg works tomorrow and then will be off the rest of the time. We are still talking and we might hit a Zoo or Aqurium in Dallas. Not sure. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day Weekend!!!
