28 Weeks

28 Week Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 28 weeks, 7 months!

Size of baby: 2 1/4 pounds, the size of a Chinese cabbage

Gender: It's a boy, Owen!

Total weight gain: Haven't stepped on the scale yet.

Maternity Clothes: Yes please!

Sleep: Yes please! haha, I have been tired and have had ZERO energy! I slept like a log last night.

What I miss most: Right now I really just want a sandwich. A nice cold sandwich. Mmm. I also miss the cooler weather, it was 90 today, too hot already. My poor swollen feet.

Cravings: A nice cold sandwich. Everything I should NOT be eating and staying away from. No serious cravings, but I am not eating well and am disappointed in myself.

Symptoms: Swollen feet now that it's so warm out. Terrible terrible acid. Ew!

Best moment: Getting the crib out and put together and getting the new changer/dresser.

What I'm looking forward to most: Having my next appointment on Wednesday and getting to hear Owen's heartbeat.

I didn't take a picture today. I was looking pretty rough. I had my stained up work shirt on, my hair was every which way and I had a pounding headache. I'll have Greg take a picture in the morning before we headed to Dallas, I should be looking a tad more presentable! haha!

Bike Ride

I am having pregnancy brain fog right now and can't remember if I've blogged about Landon's new stuffed animal Yoda that he got? SO if I have, please forgive me for repeating myself.

A few weeks back while looking around at Target Greg and Landon found a Yoda pillow. Now, it's not a pillow, but it was in the kids bedding section with the bedding and pillows. Landon grabbed that pillow and squeezed it so tight, they way he walked around the store squeezing that Yoda there was no way we could walk out the doors without him. Landon didn't even ask to get him or anything, he just smiled and hugged him and carried him while we shopped.

When we got home he was thrilled to show Yoda around and he played with him non stop, took him to bed, made sure he was 'fed' dinner and wasn't too cold by putting his jacket on, and taking it off when he was hot several times. We went out one morning to do some yard work and he took Yoda for a bike ride.

Seeing the way Landon was with his Yoda and how much he took care of it and talked to it, made me think of what a great big brother he is going to be.

Monday Monday

Monday. Ew, that about clears it up. This morning was crazy, the kids were cranky, they were coming in FAST and it was just a Monday morning. To top it off the girls that went on the playground first found a baby rattle snake while they were doing a playground check under the trash can. Ick! I am NOT ready for all these creepy crawly things. EW!

Greg took the day off and made and appointment for Landon to see the dentist. He hadn't been yet and it was time to go. I wasn't sure how Landon was going to do since he isn't a fan of going to the Doctor's and Doctor's offices. I talked to him about going and that I used to work at the dentist and what he would see there. Greg said he was SO good today. The only thing he had a problem with was the xray, and they just made him gag. So proud of our little guy, he got a great check up! Silly Greg made his next appointment for September (6 months) and didn't realize til he was gone that we won't be here anymore!!! haha!!!

They had another boy day and hung out. They had a surprise waiting for me when I got home. But when I got off work I wasn't aloud to come home yet, so I went to Target to get Landon's Easter basket stuff. Easter is just around the corner, and I don't want to wait and not have anything left, I've had that happen before. Any who, he is a sneak peak of what I got him...

I love Easter and making Easter basket's, it's especially fun when you find a 'theme' that you know your child will like.

When I got home Greg and Landon had been busy. They were working it the spare bedroom putting the crib together! That was my big surprise. Greg wanted to make sure all the parts were there, and see if we still liked it. He had all the bedding in it and everything.

First thing he did is move the new changer into the nook in the spare room and take the book shelf and books out. I kinda like it in there!

He then took out the sitting bench and coat rack and put the crib in the corner! I wasn't sure if I wanted it up and out yet. But once I got used to it, I liked it.

Now I LOVE the bedskirt, and I had found a gigham sheet at Target that I thought would be perfect, well when I put the bumper on, the gingham on the new one was much bigger than the gingham on the bumper, and it just didn't look right. I took the bumper out and I kind like it without the bumper. You know they are saying bumpers cause can cause Sids. SO who knows.

At first it stressed me out, but now I am kinda OK with it being out. We are missing some hardware and need to make a trip to Lowe's. The side is loose and the spring on the bottom to adjust the height of the mattress is missing some parts. As long as no one touches it right now we are OK! haha!

It was definitely a nice surprise after the crazy morning at work! Thank you Greg and Landon, I sure do love you boys SO much.

What a day!

Yesterday and today we have been extremely busy. We had an open house scheduled for today so we've been busy getting ready.

Yesterday Greg worked in the yard for a few hours weed whacking, mowing, sweeping, cleaning, pulling weeds, you name it. Then we moved to the tree in the corner. When it blooms it's SO pretty, and I've been wanting to put some mulch down around it and some bricks, and we FINALLY did it last night.

I think it looks pretty! Our yard looks nice in pictures, but it's pure weeds! haha. The drought has killed our yard.

I planted some flowers in pots as well. Each weekend we don't have anything going on we are going to do something else, add a tree, or some plants or something. Try to get our yard looking nice and more appealing to buyers.

This morning Greg and Landon went golfing and I cleaned and scrubbed our entire house top to bottom for the the open house. They came home, we ate lunch then headed out. We went to Sam's and then headed over to Jaxson's birthday party. The weather today was nice!! Feels like summer already.

The kids had fun even though it was warm, ti didn't seem to bother them. They all ended up in the sandbox rather then the bouncy castle.

We had a great time at the party, the company and food was great!

We were anxious to get home and call our Realtor to see how the open house went. As soon as Greg got on the phone with her I knew it wasn't good. I almost didn't want to hear what she told Greg. But, it of course wasn't good. Not a single person came through. Ugh! So disappointing and gut wrenching. There was another open house on our street at the same time today, and not a single person went to theirs either. At least it wasn't just ours. I think the thing that bothers us most is that now we haven't had a showing in 4 weeks! That is a long long time! Greg asked what is wrong? What can we do? She said usually there is something that can be done, she said in our case, the house is always clean and looking perfect, the price is right, everything is great, we just have to wait for the right person to come around to buy it. I still can't wrap my finger around why we haven't had a showing in SO long. I know we still have time before we leave, but it's just SO stressful with everything we have going on. To make sure your house is immaculate every time you walk out the door is a lot of work. It's tiring. So...

Greg grilled some chicken for dinner, and then we sat out front for a while while Landon played.

Landon is sitting here while I'm typing and he asked me to feel his loose tooth, man that thing is loose, and it's probably going to fall out soon! How exciting.

Hopefully this week will be better, I'll be hitting my 3rd Trimester at the end of the week. I have a hair appointment Tuesday, and we have Ava's birthday party in Dallas on Saturday! Hope you guys had a good weekend!!

Changing Table

This morning I decided to call the furniture place to see if the dresser/changer was finished. When I called she said she had just finished it and we could come get it! I was SO excited.

Greg's friend came with us to help us get it home. When we walked in to the store and I saw it, it was exactly what I wanted, it turned out SO good.

Here is the before, remember this ugly old thing??

And here is the after:

I LOVE it, I can't wait to go get the pad for the top and see how it's gong to look. I think it turned out great, just how I had imagined!!!!!

And I couldn't blog without a picture of my sweet boy....

He had just told us we broke his heart, he wasn't ready for bed, but it is almost 930 and we had a busy day, so it was definitely time for this little man to get some rest!!

Package

I had to rush home because my windshield was getting replaced, and while we were sitting here I heard the UPS man and Landon and I ran to the door.

We got a package from Grammie!!!

Wait a minute, that wasn't supposed to be in our package!

What? A Landon clone?

Ha! The boy totally enjoyed playing in the box when it arrived. I did feel terrible, he was so excited to help me open it, when we opened it and he saw what it was, even though I told him it was for the baby, he was sad when he saw what it was. It was almost like he didn't believe me. It only lasted for a minute, he helped me open the box then climbed inside to play..

This is what Grammie sent for Owen.

I LOVEEEE it, it's so soft and so cute. Makes me excited to have this baby. I can't wait to have a snuggly little guy snoozing away in here.

Thanks Grammie and Poppa Bob! We love it, and I am sure Owen is going to enjoy it even more!

A Rainy Day Post

It's been cold and rainy the past few days. The week started off warm and windy. By Wednesday night we were having some howling winds. Thursday the wind was starting to die down. We lost power at work about 1110am. The kids went crazy of course. Some cried, some laughed, some started running rampant and wouldn't listen. We ate lunch in the dark, and the power finally came back on about 1210. Whew! The weather was foggy, drizzly and cold now. About 7 I saw on Facebook that the CDC was closed Friday. What? I finally got a call, indeed, the CDC was closed. It was about 38 outside, but felt like 22. The heater was broken, the rooms were 62 and the kitchen was a whopping 40 degrees. The heater wasn't scheduled to be fixed til noon, and it would take at least 2 hours to warm the building up! YES! I was so happy. Nothing like that ever happens at the CDC. We are open all the time, never closed unless it's a holiday, never close early or open late, never have a training day or anything, so it was nice!

-Yesterday marked two weeks of not a single showing. Blah! We contacted the Realtor to ask what was up, she said it has been dead with showings everywhere. We took a shelf out of our master bedroom and our computer and desk. We also took more things out of the living room and rearranged it. They came by today to take some updated photos to put on the website. We have another open house scheduled for the 25th. I guess we were extremely spoiled with the amount of showings we had up until then. We shall see what happens. Cross your fingers for us someone comes around and buys our house!

-Today we went to the Junk It place where we ordered the changing table/dresser to talk about the knobs we wanted. We weren't sure if we wanted wooden knobs or find some cute ones somewhere. We of course didn't see any anywhere that we liked, so we are going to go with some big wooden ones. It should look nice. She said they are pulling it next week and will start the sanding process, filling it the scratches and dings and then make the rail along the top. She said once that is done it usually gets painted and finished pretty quick. Hearing that got me really really excited!!!

-Landon is on Spring Break this week. Greg took Monday off so they are going to hang out, and he is going to come to the CDC with me on Tuesday and Wednesday to play with his old friends and visit with Mrs. Glenda. He is SO excited to come with me. He keeps asking me how many more days til he gets to come! Silly Boy.

-Remember when I said I got another crack on my windshield while on my way to work? Well when I was taking Landon to school yesterday my window was fogging up so I turned the defrost on. I swear, that crack spread right in front of my eyes. Now, I have a huge crack right in the drivers side view. Fantastic! Greg called around and got us a new window. They will be here to replace it on Wednesday. Greg got a pretty good deal, it was close to $500 here in town, he called around and got a quote from Safelite (with a Military Discount and USAA discount) for $276 total! Yeeeahhh Buddy!!!

-We are pretty lucky we still have a lot of things from when Landon was a baby. One thing I really really want for this little guy is this:

Fisher-Price Snugabunny Deluxe Rock n' Play Lightweight Plush Sleeper.

I had it on my Target Registry and it's gone now, they are all out of them in most stores and online. I found it on Amazon, it's $62 and free shipping. I may just go ahead and get it. Since i'm not really sure where we are going to be and what is going to be going on, this is easy to fold up and take with you. We can use this for the baby to sleep in too.

So, sorry for the long rainy day post. Just thought I'd blog about a few things going on around here. Not much going on. Hope you're having a good weekend!

25 Weeks

25 Week Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 25 weeks

Size of baby: 13 1/2 inches, 1.5 lbs, the size of a large rutabaga

Gender/Name: Boy, Owen Gregor!

Total weight gain: 22lbs

Maternity Clothes: Yes, whatever I have. I still wear my regular shirts with a tank underneath and some of my jeans with my belly band.

Sleep: Not sleeping too good. I've been sleeping very light, and feel like I am constantly dreaming or worrying about what is going to happen the next day. ugh!

What I miss: Sleeping on my belly, being able to get up easily...

Cravings: Salt and Vinegar Chips, can't find any but the kettle cooked ones now, hmm. I also like a bowl of cereal at night...

Symptoms: Bad acid in my throat. Hormones, snapping very easily and getting frustrated.

Best Moment: Hearing Owen's heartbeat, 156 BPM!

What I'm looking forward to most: I'm not sure. Selling our house? I Know that is not baby related at all, but that is what's stopping everything and not allowing me to do anything. We can't get anything ready for the baby til we sell the house, I can't set anything up, get anything out and ready. I see all the blogs or friends that are having babies around the same time as me and they are well on their way with their nurseries and getting things together. Not I.

I'm not going to take a picture today, since I just took my belly shot the other day, There is no point. Plus I really don't feel like being in front of a camera. I did have my 24 weeks appointment on Tuesday. It was nothing exciting, I waited about 20 min then was in and out of the room in 5. Did the basic BP, weight and listen to the baby. That was it. There isn't much going on right now. My next appointment will be fun. I get to do my one hour glucose test. Then after that I start going to the doctor every two weeks.

Dinner Party

Last night Landon told me he wanted to do his 'chores.' He started sweeping the kitchen? Not really sure why, but it was kinda cute. Then he asked if he could set the table for our dinner party. So we got in to our party cabinet and the boy went to work!

He made a sign and hung it from the light. He got us all drinks, a water for me and Landon and a beer for Daddy! He also found a candle and had me light it and added an apple for a decorative touch.

We used up the napkins from his 1st birthday! Can you believe we still had some? When I was looking tonight I still have a few Thomas The Train stragglers from his 2nd birthday, a few Nemo ones from his 3rd, Scooby Doo from his 4th and all the solid stuff from his 5th. Crazy huh??

He was excited when Daddy got home to take him to the dinner party!! It was cute, he was so excited to set it all up and eat there. Tonight when it was getting a little late he asked if he could set the table again and get ready for the party. Tonight was his stuffed bunny's birthday, her 20th. So I of course let him decorate, and he also made some homemade pizza.

I made the dough and rolled it out, I also added the sauce and he did the cheese and pepperoni!

So proud of his pizza skills!

If you are looking for a party decorater lemme know, I know just the guy for you, he also makes some yummy pizza's!

What We've Been Up To

I don't have a clever title today. I also figured if I didn't sit down right now I might not sit down to blog again. I've said this before, I get on here, every intention of blogging, read a few blogs, then I shut the laptop and a few minutes later I am like, "Darn it, I was going to blog!" Then I don't get back on.

This past weekend was nice. We were busy doing things, but not too busy. Saturday we had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese for a little boy in my class. Landon was excited to go there, we haven't been for a while. When we pulled up, I think everyone else and their mother's pulled up as well. There was 4 parties going on at 12. Madness!

Playing games is always lots of fun, especially with daddy, and especially when you get tickets at the end!

The cute little birthday boy! We had a great time, I was ready to go when it was over. It was loud, and kids were running crazy. Glad Landon was a good boy. They definitely need to make that place bigger!

Once we were done we stopped at Pep Boys. My car has been sputtering and acting weird, again. Greg researched online for a while, and decided he knew what it was. I insisted on taking it to the shop, he said they would have to run a diagnostic and that would be about $100 to start with, then not to include parts and labor. So we got some spark plugs and wiring harness thing and a few other odds and ends and headed home. We spent $48.08. We made sure to keep the receipt in case these things didn't work!

Greg got started on the car and we headed out to the park with Donae, Aubree and Jaxson. It was a tad cold and windy, they kids didn't care. They ran around, dug in the dirt, pulled at trees, tried to climb the trees, ran around and played hide and seek, dug some more and found some bugs and cool sticks....

They found a fat caterpillar and were enamored with it.

After two hours of fun we headed home. Greg was still working on the car, going on about 3 hours. I made dinner and Landon and I ate. Greg was still working on the car. FINALLY, he thought he had it and went for a test drive. Still sputtering. He messed with a few more things in the cables and went for another test drive. HE FIXED IT! Yay! I am so proud of Greg. It took him a lot of work, a few hours and couple of beers later, he did it! So what would have probably cost us about $300 only cost $48.08 and lots of hard work from Gregor! Thank Greg for fixing my car!!! Now we just need to replace my windshield, I got ANOTHER crack in it the other morning on my way to work :(

Sunday I woke up with a bad headache. Ew. Greg and Landon went golfing and had a blast. I enjoyed being home alone. I even go to go to the Commissary all by myself. That NEVER happens.

I took Monday and today off. I have been enjoying my time home. It was so nice yesterday to get up and get Landon ready for school, take him to school, go to the gym, come home and relax in peace and quiet. I even took a little nap, then I got to pick up Landon! Today was the same, except this morning Landon heard Greg and I talking about meeting for lunch, Landon was sad and wanted to go too. SO, I told him we could go have a donut date, and we did! He was happy as a clam eating his chocolate donut this morning. Hope he wasn't too wired for his teachers! I just got home from meeting Greg for lunch. It was nice, just the two of us. That doesn't happen often either. We just sat and chit chatted about the house and enjoyed out lunch. I'm getting ready to leave for my 24 week appointment. I am excited to hear the little man's heartbeat today. He sure is moving around a ton today! Stinker!!!!
