Garden Of The Gods

We love being in Colorado, and the fact that there are SO many thing for us to do. Just a 10-15 minute drive to the mountains and there ya go.

We've been wanting to go to Garden Of The Gods since we got here. It's a bunch of hiking/biking/walking/running trails/rock climbing and beautiful landscape and rock formations. We can see the rocks from our house and when are driving around. Another awesome thing is it's free. And one more good thing is around the rocks it's a paved walkway so we can take the stroller.

So we stopped at Sam's for some formula, grabbed a hot dog and some drinks and headed towards the mountains. Maybe 10 minutes later and we were here....

It was sunny and about 50 outside. So it was nice and warm when we got there.

And since it was such a pretty day, there was a lot of people when we got there. Now when we left there was a TON of people and the parking lot was packed!

Owen was content and happy to be in his stroller.

It was so pretty. Right after you leave the parking lot there is some seating and there was a couple getting married. It was pretty cute. There are a ton of holes along the rocks. Landon was telling us those are from the Indians! We later found out that bats live in them.

Shortly after this the clouds came out and there was a slight breeze. It got cool, we had to bundle the baby up. But it was still nice.

Landon was all about this place. Running around, climbing, checking out the trails and everything. He loves to do stuff like this and it makes us so happy.

Dang, I thought I got away from the rattlesnakes, ick! haha.

Can you see the face and hair in the rock below? It's a lighter color on the rocks. Pretty cool.

Such a beautiful and fun place. I am sure we will be going back once it gets warmer. I love that there is things like this super close for us to do. There are a ton of other things in the area as well that we can't wait to visit. Like the Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Pikes Peak and many others!

So who wants to come visit and go exploring with us??

7 Months

It seems like forever ago when I did the 6 month blog post for my Owen. But then when I think about it I can't believe he is 7 months old already. Time is just flying by right before my eyes.

So Owen Gregor what are you up to these days??

~ You are wear 6 mo or 6-9 month clothes now.

~ You are in a size three diaper.

~ You weigh about 18lbs now.

~ You eat about 6 ounces every 3 hours.

~ You aren't really a fan of baby food but you've tried squash, sweet potato's  carrots, banana's and apples. You do OK. But you just don't seem to 'love' it.

~ You are sleeping through the night now. I LOVE it. You go to bed between 630-7 at night and wake about 5-6am.

~ You usually take between 2-3 30 minute naps a day. Like I said before you'll sometimes give mommy a break and take an hour or longer nap. I don't hold my breath, as it doesn't happen often!

~ You have two teeth, the ones on the bottom. You seem to be teething since you are drooling like a faucet and CHEWING on everything.

~ You can sit by yourself, but are still wobbly. It's getting better though.

~ You are getting up on all 4 and exploring how to crawl.

~ Your hair is finally coming in!

~ Your skin is SO much better. I can use baby shampoo on your head and it doesn't flare up. I also gave you a shower when we were in Kansas with baby wash that smelled good and your skin was great! Yay.

~ You are really discovering your voice now. The squealing scream! Wowzers. It is funny and loud. Sometimes it hurts our ears.

~ You chitter chatter all the time and still just say da-da.

~ You laugh A LOT and I love it. Whenever any of us come around you squeal with delight and giggle. You are turning out to be one happy baby boy, that makes mommy so happy.

~ You love to stand and be up. You still love your stand up toy. You also like to sit in your highchair and play with toys. You love any toys with music and lights. You really like to chew on strings and your soft spoons. (Strings from our hoodies when we are wearing them, don't worry.)

~ You love Landon and watch his every. single. move.

~  You love to be outside or any where outside of the house. You now really like to sit up in your stroller. You cry when I take you out.

~ You still hate your car seat and scream at times. It's mainly when you are tired I've noticed.

~ You love love love your baths and also scream and cry when I take you out. You now splash when you are in your tub, it's so cute.

I think your most favorite thing to do is grab your feet and rip off your socks to chew on them. Ahh, it's a never ending battle. I don't even bother any more. haha!

And the bibs, we probably go through ten a day and have to change your shirt at least twice. Like I said, you drool like a faucet.

Owen I can't believe you are 7 months old already. You were just 7 weeks when we got to Colorado, not doing anything, such a tiny little thing, now look at you! You have the prettiest blue eyes and such a sweet smile. You love to make us laugh now, and we are all seriously laughing at you all the time.

I can't believe in 5 short months you will be a year old. I'm trying to treasure you being little and savoring every moment, but I am also excited for you to be walking and all that fun stuff that it brings.

Mommy, Daddy and Landon love you Mr. Owen, thank you for all the sweet smiles and laughs!

Nervous/Nerves

Last Thursday when I was getting out of the shower and drying off, I noticed a tender spot between my breasts. I didn't think much of it.

I was putting lotion on and felt it again. I had a pretty good size knot/lump/bump at the top of my breasts between them. My stomach was instantly in knots, and I was feeling faint. I took note of it and then finished getting ready. It was sore, but not painful. I went about my morning and by after noon it was pretty tender. Any touching or bumping it, it hurt. I called to make an appointment, we were leaving Friday for the wedding. They were unable to get me in early enough, but they told me to call back in the morning.

SO 6am sharp I was on the phone with the appointment line and was able to get an appointment for 730am sharp. Whew! I was a nervous wreck going to the doctors. I got asked a bunch of questions and then the doctor stated that it looks like an inflamed cyst and it's not really in the breast and more on my chest bone. He was going to put me on antibiotics for a week and if it was still bothering me he would get me a referral to possibly get it removed.

So I started my antibiotics and realized it was pretty sore and hurting. My chest was hurting and everything. Great. It bothered me the whole trip. I noticed Sunday morning it looked pretty big. I then realized that it was swollen and I think the antibiotics were killing the infection. Or so that's what I was thinking.

The first day I didn't have any pain was Tuesday. I finished my antibiotics last night. The bump is still there. It's not as tender or sore as it was. I'm just worried about it. I am worried what if it's something else? What if it's spreading into my breast? I may make another appointment to have it checked again. It's a grape sized knot, and hard.

I'm a great big ball of nerves.  If it's just a cyst, then OK, I just keep thinking, 'what if.' Such a scary thing, and for it to come on so sudden ya know?

I just keep thinking I need to be healthy and OK for Owen and Landon! ugh....

Landon always photo bombs Owen's pictures, haha! Love that goofy boy. He wouldn't have to photo bomb if he would let me take a picture of him.

Owen looks scared, and Landon half asleep!

Kansas Part III

We had such a great time at the wedding. Landon had a blast playing with Kylee and dancing the night away. Owen was great and eventually fell asleep, that's why we decided to leave.

Another thing I wanted to do was to see my Grandpa Paul while we were there. He just turned 90 on Friday the 18th. I hadn't seen him since I was like 14 years old. That's a LONG time ago. I also thought it would be awesome for Landon and Owen to meet their Great Grandpa.

So we met my Aunt and Uncle and Kylee for lunch and the we headed about an hour north to Horton Kansas to see my grandpa. It was such a pretty drive. We took the back roads there. Lots of farms, beautiful homes, rolling hills, barns, livestock of all kinds, ponds, lakes, streams and rivers. And the trees. I remember it being so pretty and green when we would go. (It was always summer time)

Of course when we pulled up my Grandpa was looking out the window. He met us at the door and the smile on his face. You could tell he was SO happy we were there. He reminds me SO much of my dad. Or I should say my dad and Grandpa's mannerisms are just alike. Their chuckle, the way they talk, the way they look.

I think Grandpa and Owen have about the same amount of hair! haha

Grandpa Paul with some of his Great Grandchildren, such a special day.

It was hard to say goodbye to the family. It was a short and fast weekend, but definitely worth every single minute.
