The icing on the cupcake

While shopping at the Commissary on Sunday we came across some cake decorations that were fishes. We of course bought them and decided to make cupcakes. Landon enjoys helping in the kitchen, we need to do cooking projects more often!

He liked to ice them, he was super excited to put the fish on top. (Don't mind my fat butt, I look pregnant, I wish I was but I'm NOT)

He was really excited about the fish. He held them and refused to put them on the cupcakes. Silly boy, how'd I know that was going to happen???
1 day down and three more to go! We are busy at work, which is good, but tiring. We are getting ready for our accreditation so it's been a lot of work. I went to the gym when I got off work. I walked at an incline for about 10 min then ran for about 20min. I am a little under the weather today, sore throat and tight chest, but I still ran, it was hard though! I wanted to stop at Hobby Lobby and the Party store but I just went home. I sat on the couch and couldn't move. After seeing the picture's Greg took of us last night really makes me want to loose some weight, I mean BAD! Ew! I need to work on eating too. Anyways, Happy Monday!

Where a kid can be a kid

Chuck E Cheese's! This morning after getting groceries we went! Landon was super excited about that.

This time it was lots of fun, not that last time it wasn't, but this time Landon was all about playing the games! He was having a blast. (so was Greg, this was his first time to EVER go there) As soon as Landon got his first few tickets he said, "I want a fish mommy!" He remembered from last time, so after collecting 10 tickets we went and got him a fish. He was now even happier!

We ate pizza, I had a salad as well and Greg had some hot wings. The pizza was pretty good, and Landon destroyed it. He watched Chuck E Cheese, from afar of course, he didn't want to get too close. Then we played some more games before heading home.

I think this pictures is funny, it looks like I am pushing his belly and he is about to explode, maybe he ate too much pizza! ha

We cashed in the rest of our tickets to get some sticker and an Air Head and headed home. Landon had to wind down once we go home, he crashed pretty fast though. He is still sleeping, I need to wake him up or he'll never go to sleep tonight.

I am happy this week is a 4 day work week. I have a 4 day weekend, and believe it or not Greg actually has Saturday, Sunday, Monday off! We hardly ever have that long of a weekend together. I think we may go to Dallas and go shopping. I've got to find Landon some Crocs. I am still on the search. The have some here, not his size. Everything I find is GIRLS and it's really starting to frustrate me. I guess I could order some online, if we don't go to Dallas this weekend that's what I'll do.

I also feel like I am getting sick. I thought I had steered clear of getting what Landon and Greg had. But it's not looking good. My ears are hurting and my chest feels soo heavy. ugh! I don't want to get sick. I've been drinking lots of water and getting rest, maybe I can beat it.

One last thing. I think Landon is going to be Nemo for Halloween. I found a cute costume online at the Disney Store. I showed Landon and he had the biggest smile ever. He liked it. Last night and today I've also been looking in to Birthday party stuff for Landon. I've got a few things up m sleeve.....

Odd and Ends

What a busy and productive week! Working, going to the gym to run, babysitting, shampooing the carpets, housework, yardwork, being a mommy and a wife sure do make for a busy week. I am so glad the weekend is here. Time to relax and enjoy being home with Landon and Greg. Also time to enjoy some quiet time, or napping time....

Look how big he is getting! It's time to buy him a twin size bed! I can't believe how big this boy is. He seriously seems to grow right before my eyes.
On Thursday night we had a Texas size storm. Lots of wind, 60 mph to be exact, rain, thunder and lightening. Didn't last very long, maybe 30-45min, but it sure brought some cool weather. And you'd better believe I am thrilled! It's been sooo nice out. We can be outside and not instantly sweat and be miserable. We were outside for quite some time last night. Landon enjoyed playing on his swing set again and being out. That's my boy! Greg mowed, I watered the grass, we enjoyed the cool breeze and being out. It was great. Today is really nice as well. From what I hear it's supposed to stay like this. My fingers are crossed that it does. The only problem with nice weather, SNAKES! Yes, our neighbor told us they killed a rattle snake in their driveway. hm, Greg's buddy that lives on our street said he saw three after the Storm. Awe man. I always knew there were snakes here, I've seen them on base and around, but never so close to my house. Now we have to be extra cautious when we go out, I have to keep an eye on that damn cat of mine too!!!

Having a child that loves something as much as Landon does, always makes us on the look out for things. If you are unaware of his obsseion it's Nemo, fish, sharks and whales! Lanodn is VERY good at spying anything of that sort, and so are we. At Walmart the other night look what we found!

Capn' Crunch Berries with Whales and Sharks! OH MY! And we also found his flushable wipes with Nemo on them. How crazy are we? And how crazy am I for taking a picture of these???

My mom printed some pictures for me and I finally got some frames from Hobby Lobby and got them hung up. Landon was a great helper since daddy was at work, he even called me 'Handy Manny Mommy!'

Landon likes to make faces now. Not sure where he learned them. Maybe us? Maybe school? Who's knows. He thinks it's funny when he does them. Or I should say when he sees himself doing it, in the mirror or on the camera. What a ham. Oh his new word he says that makes me chuckle EVERY TIME I hear it is 'disgusting.' (He doesn't say it very often though)

Well Landon is still napping, I am going to enjoy my quite time till he wakes. I am making dinner and we are going to the station. Our normal Saturday routine when Greg is working. I am making Spagetti and Chicken Parmeasan. I haven't decided if I want to make dessert to go with it....what's your favorite simple dessert to eat??

Picky Eater?

A two year old is tons of fun, and always full of surprises. One day he eats like a champ, the next day he won't eat. Same goes for sleeping. One day he sleeps, the next he wakes up to go potty or to be covered up. It's hard to tell how the days, or nights, are going to go. These past few days Landon has been on a not wanting to eat streak. A few posts back I said Landon would eat blueberries WHENEVER they were in front of him. Well, tonight he didn't want them. He wouldn't even touch his pizza, or broccoli, three of his favorite things. He's always been a wishy washy kinda eater, but a cute one......

I think he was about 10months in the above picture and the one below I say 8 months. Sooo cute! He has ALWAYS been a messy eater, that's for sure!

It's hard sometimes, I want to make sure he is getting what he needs. I don't want him to be hungry, and I want to make sure he is getting all the nutrients he needs. I know he will eat when he is hungry, but nights like tonight I feel bad, I guess it's a mommy thing. I don't want him to be hungry. How many times have I said that in this post? haha....worrier I am.....

So Landon is standing here with whales in his hands and his whale book begging me to read. That boy. I stopped to read it, but that wasn't good enough, he wants me off the computer and to read the book, AGAIN....

Before I go and read the entire Library of books we have, my best friend Cindy and her daughter Cailtyn are coming to visit in November! I am sooo excited. I haven't seen Cindy since she was like 8 months pregnant, Caitlyn is now 13 months. Boy how time flies. I hate the distance between us, I sure wish we were closer. We've been friends forever, literally, we grew up 4 houses apart. We've got lots of good memories together and I can't wait to make some more. Landon will get to meet his future wife Caitlyn! haha :)

Then and Now

So Landon and I babysat Addisyn this afternoon. She needed to nap so I got out Landon's old pack-n-play. After she left Landon was playing around and I layed him in it. Boy what difference. Here is Landon laying in his pack-n-play when he was just a day or two old:
And here he is today:

He's HUGE! And yes, his hands in his mouth. That is his new thing, he likes to make faces. Where he got that from? Who on Earth knows. Landon is getting so big and it makes me sooo sad. After having the baby here it really made me think about how much I miss Landon being a baby. Landon was very gentle with the baby. He tickled her toes and feet and just watched her. When Kristen was leaving he said, "babies can't go home." Awe, such a sweetie.

Happy Birthday Gregor

Happy Birthday Greg! You sure are getting old, haha, just kidding, You've finally caught up to me. I hope you have a wonderful birthday, even though you are sick. Landon and I love you so much and are so lucky to have you in our lives!!!!!!!

This has been a weird weekend. Well, not weird. Just wishy washy. Greg was supposed to go TDY for a week, leaving yesterday (Saturday) He came down with a sinus and ear infection and got taken off the team. (Friday afternoon) So we went to dinner Friday night at Carino's. Saturday we did our normal weekend things, shopping and hanging out. We had lunch at Abuelo's and then had carrot cake and presents at night. Greg had to work today, which is actually his birthday. I'd planned on taking him dinner and another cake to the station. While Landon and I were shopping at the Commissary Greg texted me and said he got the day off. We got home and I literally just finished putting away groceries and Greg walked in the door. I felt really bad because today is his birthday and we pretty much did everything scattered out the past few days. He said he didn't care! So we just hung out. I made a pot roast with carrots and potato's, it was FANTASTIC! Then we sang Happy Birthday and ate chocolate cake!

Landon was super excited to sing Happy Birthday to Daddy, and was even more excited to eat cake!

Landon helped daddy blow out the candles!

After naps we went outside. It is still hotter than heck outside. Over 100 on our thermometer clock....

Landon played in the pool, we cooled off with Popsicles and relaxed. Greg wasn't outside too long, he still isn't feeling that well. It was too hot for him. Landon played with all his sea life and I picked weeds. Of course right! :)

Now about that pot roast I made for dinner. I saw a recipe for an Onion Soup pot roast online and I thought I'd try it. So I rubbed it with salt/pepper and seared it in olive oil and garlic on both sides. Then I put it in a baking dish with chopped onions. I sprinkled the onion soup over the roast and added water. I baked it at 350 for 3 hours. I added carrots in as well. It was fantasic! Very simple and very delicious, I also made home made mashed potatos.

Happy Birthday again Gregor!!!! I hope you had a good weekend even though it was full of changes!!! Love you lots

Who Loves Blueberries?

Why Landon does of course!

Landon ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY LOVES blueberries.

He didn't even mind me taking his picture, as long as he was able to see it when I was done. The first picture he saw of himself he actually laughed!

So now that Landon is feeling better Greg isn't. Go figure. He has a sinus infection and an ear infection. Poor guy. I am keeping my finger crossed that I don't get sick. All the kiddos at school seem to be sick, I surely don't want it! No Thanks i'll pass.

Have you been watching Big Brother??? What do you think??? So much drama, I love it! I am excited for the Biggest Loser and Dancing with the stars to start. I also can't believe school is starting already. I am glad, I am ready for the Fall and all the wonderful holidays coming up. Espcially since Greg will be home this year!

Creature of habit?

Creature of habit? Yes I do believe I am. Well, I'm not sure, but I think so. You tell me. I usually go to the gym when I get off work. I always park in the same row, the middle one. I always go directly to locker 121 to put my stuff away. If I stop to use the restroom I always use the last one on the right. And when I run, I always go to the last treadmill on the right. If that one is being used I happily use another one, I just noticed today I always go for the same treadmill and the same locker. Then I started thinking about it. Am I anal or just a 'creature of habit'? That or just repetative and boring??????

I took Landon to get a haircut today. He saw the building and said, "No, I don't need haircut mommy!" He was looking a little shabby around the edges. He used to cry and whine and cry when we would go. Today he just marched right in and when it was his turn he turned to shy little boy and didn't talk. He didn't move a muscle his entire haircut, which only took about 5 min.

I am still looking for a pair of replacement Crocs for Landon. They of course don't have his size anywhere in Abilene. I've been looking on line and found some I might order. It's just a matter of getting on here to do it.

Last but not least, thought I'd finish this boring old post with a cute picture. Last week Landon and I took Kristen and the girls to pick up their car. We weren't sure if three car seats would fit in the back of my vehicle, but yes they did! It was tight, but it worked!!!!!

Aren't they cute? The girls are precious, Landon just stared at them. Then when they left he asked, "mommy, where'd the babies go??"

Baseball

What better way to spend the day in 100+ degree weather than at a baseball game? Yeah, that's what we did. We went with a bunch of people from the fire department. We left this morning around 9. We got in to Arlington right at lunch time. We stopped and ate Panda Express. Orange Chicken, YUMMY! After filling our bellies, next stop:

The Ball Park in Arlington. Or according to Landon, "A big castle."
He was really excited to go inside, when we got our tickets and found the entrance he was bouncing off the walls with excitement.

We were already sweating the second we got out of our car. We walked around to find our seats. We got the bleachers in outfield, pretty fun if you ask me!

This area was BOOMING, there were all kinds of things going on. All's I know, I was trying to keep cool, and make sure Landon didn't over heat. Once Landon saw the seats he was ready to sit down. Notice not too many people sitting down.

The bleachers were SCOULDING hot! We put a blanket down for Landon to sit on. We sat for a bit then had to go cool off. Then Landon lost it. It was hot, 104 out, he was tired and cranky! He screamed the entire National Anthem, I was mortified. I got him to the bathroom to potty then we went back to our seats. He munched on popcorn and seemed better. After cooking and boiling for as long as we could handle we went and walked around again. This time we found a misting fan! Sold to us. Landon was even happier now.

We drank lots of water and Gatorade to keep hydrated and cool, we also ate frozen lemonade.

It was just tooo hot to sit there. We walked around, checked out the park from all different angles:

And decided in the 7th inning, it was just too hot and time to head home. Landon fell asleep in my arms on the way to the car. I have never been so hot in my life! (thats how I felt) I set Landon in his car seat and realize he was missing a Croc! Ohhh fudge. We looked, no where in sight. Oh well.... and this was Landon for our first hour of the trip home:

Then the beast woke up, oops, I mean prince Landon woke up. He looked down and saw he didn't have shoes on. He LOST it! He was devistated. I explained what happened. I showed him, we only had ONE of his shoes. He wasn't having it. He cried for a good ten min, and he INSISTED that he wore the one Croc all the way home!
He watched Nemo, munched on grapes and strawberries and turned back in to our happy camper. It was a fun day, I wish whenever we did something we didn't have the extreme weather. Last time we were at the Ball Park it was storming BAD! We were soaking wet and cold. This time we were on fire. One of these days we will get it right. When we got home Landon told us he was 'happy' and he liked the baseball game. He is now zonked out, I hope we get a full nights sleep. We all need it badly. (Today was Landon's last day of meds, I hope the crankyness goes away soon, he does seem to be feeling A LOT better.)

Sick baby boy

This week has been a blur. The week started off great, then late Monday night early Tuesday morning Landon woke up coughing pretty bad, wheezing and having troubles breathing. Now because a few months back this happened I kinda knew what it was. Croup! Of course Greg was at work, so I gave him a frantic middle of the night call. I decided to get Landon calmed down and give him a prescription cough/antihistamine medicine we got a few months back. We were up for about three hours, from 12-3am. I finally got Landon to sleep. I got about two hours and then I had to get up for work. When I went to get Landon up to get him dressed, he was wheezing and coughing even more. This time it was harder to calm him down and get him to catch his breath. Soooo...I did the bright and early call to Greg and I decided to go to the ER. We were there about 545am. We were outta there by 710 and I was at work at 730. I was right, it was croup. They did two breathing treatments on him and then sent us on our way. He was now able to breathe, but still congested and coughing.

Greg got off work at 730 so he came and got Landon. They spent the day together. Landon seemed better, but still congested. By night time again he was coughing and wheezing. So Wednesday when I got off work I took him to his pediatrician for a follow up. They said his lungs and ear look great. They said because of all the drainage he's now got a sinus infection. Sooo, now he is on antibiotics and a steroid. It was a long day Thursday. I have to leave the house at 545am for work. I didn't get home that night till after 6pm. I was spent! So now Landon is on the meds. I think the steroid is making him crazy. He has been super clingy, super whiny, super bossy and mean! I know he isn't feeling well, but whew!

Tomorrow, Saturday, I have to work. Greg and Landon will stay home and hang out. I just hope my day goes quickly. Sunday we are headed to Arlington for a Rangers game. A bunch of people from the Fire Dept are going. We are taking Landon so we are pretty excited about it. His first baseball game! It's a day game, it's still a million degrees here so I am sure it's going to be a scorcher, hopefully not!

A weekend of fun

I was sooooo happy when Friday rolled around. It was one lonnnnng exhausting week. Friday evening Aften and Zoey came over and we hung out. It was nice to catch up since they've been on vacation. Landon was super happy to have Zoey over to play. I woke up really early with the worst headche I've had in a long time. It was all down my neck and it HURT! I took some motrin and tried my hardest to get comfortable, I laid awake for a while. When I finally woke up Saturday morning the headache was gone but I had the worst neck pains. I think I finally came to conclusion that it was a tension headache. I felt kinda weird all day, I was starting to have a stomach ache as well. Ick! By evening I think I was feeling better.

We had a friend over for dinner again. We made shishkabobs, mashed potatos and a brown trifle for dessert. It was delicious and hit the spot. We sat and watched videos on YouTube with our Apple TV, which WE LOVE!

Today when we woke up I made some homemade muffins for breakfast, Greg went for a bike ride. After getting the house picked up we went to the Zoo lake to feed the ducks and play. Landon was extremely excited. When we were leaving I handed him the old bread and he said, "ohhh I like to feed ducks crabbie patties!" He was soooooo happy:

Landon was a little hesitant at first, but once he got the idea he went at it. He was just throwing whole pieces of 'crabbie patties' at them.

So, Landon has a 'crabbie pattie' throwing stance:

Isn't that funny? He did that leg up over arm throw most of the time. It was so funny. Once all our 'crabby patties' were gone we went around the corner to the park. Landon was soooo excited, he saw it out the window and was saying, "Look, a playground, loooook a plaaaaayground mommy!" He ran for it.

We had to stop after a while, he was super hot, it was already 90 something degrees out at 11am. There was also lots of ants out, they were swarming on one part of the slides, soooo. He sure wasn't ready to go though, I took a picture of two with him, of course he didn't want to look.

After the park we went on to eat lunch at Rosa's. We haven't eaten there for a while. It tasted wonderful. Even Landon was happy to go there. After filling our tummies we headed on to Target for a few odds and ends. Then it was home for a nap. And yes, you'd better believe it, I took a nap too! I was spent!! For dinner tonight we had breakfast. We made potatos, whole wheat pancakes, eggs and cantaloupe. Very good. Now it's just hanging out family time. Big Brother is just starting, I'm not happy with Chima winning HOH. But I am VERY happy the Jeff has the Coup d'Etat. I'm anxious to see what happens.
